Good afternoon here at Castfireplaces we sell the gallery range of fireplaces and stoves and all the items we sell are covered under 12 months warranty.
When this applies to the stoves all parts of the stove are under warranty except the Glass and the Firebricks, this is because they are classed as consumable items within the stove and are designed to be replaced with wear and tear.
The back bricks are prone to cracking and we covered this in an earler item explaining that it will not damage the stove.
Most of the brick damage is caused by throwing in logs or coal against them as they are clay they will simply crack we can not replace these under warranty as they are parts they are designed to be replaced.
Glass is also not covered under warranty as it will not break under normal use and can only be damaged by mechanical damage they are designed to be used under high temps and will not crack from this use.
The bars, grates, baffle plates and the stove itself is covered under warranty should you have any problems which is very rare so if for any reason you do have a problem with your gallery stove within the 12 months of sale please contact us so we can arrange to sort it out for you.

January 26th, 2012No standard way to fit a fireplace
January 25th, 2012When you talk to different people about fireplace fitting wehther its getting advice from a company like Castfirepaces or speaking directly to your chosen fireplace fitter we all do things slightly differently.
We always say to our customers to chop the granite hearths below the level of the plasterwork to ensure you get a better finish there is nothing worse than seeing the ege of the hearth on display if no skirting is fitted.
Fireplace fitters all have different methods to fitting and ways that they fit fireplaces whether it be using pushunders or removing the rebate strip on mantels to move the fireplace forward each one has there own ideas.
The fitters we use know our products very well and we have never had any problems with them installing our fireplaces, questions and problems always come from a DIY Dan fitting it himself or builders and plumbers with no knowledge of fitting fireplaces.
If you have a profesional fitter install your fireplace you would expect them to fit it correctly but we are always on hand to help if there is anything they are unsure of.
So if you take advice from us or your fireplace fitter we may not say the same things but as long as once its fitted it looks how it should and has been installed correctly you have a fireplace that you know has been fitted correctly

Gallery Fireplaces Stove update on stock levels
January 23rd, 2012Having spoke with our suppliers this morning after they emailed me the updated order list we have here at Castfireplaces and a conversation with Jim followed im pleased to say we have some good news.
We are again having many pallets of stoves delivered to us this week and amongst this order is a few Firefox 8 Clean Burn Stoves only 4 i must admit but its a start and with others to follow at a later date things are starting to get moving again.
We are also taking delivery on the 3rd Febuary 16 Tiger Clean Burn stoves into stock which again we have run short of for a few months now.
So these items are now available for sale again on our website and within 20 minutes of them being relisted for sale we sold our first Firefox 8 Clean Burn.
So be quick on these and with Snow forecast and cold weather to return customers again will be going mad for Stoves in general, its very strange as soon as it gets below freezing or a sign of snow and the whole country goes multi fuel stove mad.
Also when buying a stove remember your carbon monoxide detector its the law to have one which are also availble on our website.
Profesional fireplace fitters please use them
January 22nd, 2012Here at Castfireplaces when customers order fireplaces and stoves from us we do have lists of profesional fireplace fitters for both gas and solid fuel installations and rest assured they are HETAS and GAS SAFE registered.
It’s all well and good having a gas safe registered plumber to connect your gas fire but to be honest they are not very experianced at installing traditional fireplaces.
The companies Castfireplaces put you in contact with are all fireplace and stove fitters and basically thats all they do so you can be sure of it being installed correctly.
So im not saying you have to use these installers its just a good idea to ensure everything goes smoothly and is installed correctly.
Of course with them being registered fitters it automatically means it passes all relevant tests and they will issue a certficate for the installation.
You can take a chance on a local builder or plumber but if this is done like this make sure it is signed of by your local council building controls.
So when you order from us here at Castfireplaces just ask us if you require a fireplace fitter and we will put you in direct contact with them and you can arrange for them to come and visit you.
So be safe and have your new fireplace fitted by a professional fitter
Increase the value of your home with a fireplace
January 21st, 2012Few people don’t appreciate the appeal of a fire in winter. Central heating makes our lives comfortable, but no family gathers round the radiator on a cold winter’s night. Fires are a focal point and a good fireplace is something to be coveted.
As they are so popular, fireplaces can add value to your home. It’s not just real fires that are a hit with buyers these days either. Gas fires have moved on apace since the days when they were looked down upon as being faintly undesirable. Modern ones look great and provide many of the benefits of a real fire with far less hassle. So too electric fires, which aren’t the ugly pieces of equipment of days gone by, but striking focal points fit for the classiest of contemporary homes.
If you want to add a fireplace to your home, there are a few considerations, some of which may be structural if you’re adding a real or gas fire. If your room can accommodate a fire, do the job properly. Get something that looks good and don’t detract from it by placing the TV above it or anything like that. A good fire provides the heart and soul of a room, as well as the warmth.
When do i need to replace firebrick in my stove
January 20th, 2012So i have been contacted today by a customer asking our advice about a Firefox 8 Stove they had around 18 months ago and as to if we could supply a replacement clay firebrick for the back of it as his had broke.
Now this is pretty simple to replace but i always check with our customers as to the condition of the firebrick if its simply cracked there is no need to replace it as its still doing its job in protecting the cast iron back.
I advise our customers not to replace them untill they are crumbling away and are beyond repair this is when they should be replaced.
As they are clay the larger bricks in the Tiger and Firefox stoves do tend to crack around the middle due to the heat or even coal or logs thrown against them.
Another way to prolong the life of your firebrick is to make a repair using fire cement to repair and stick it back together again but to be honest i really would just leave it.
Fo those of you saying a crack will allow the heat through and damage the stove well its made of cast iron and the crack is no worse than the join in the corners of the stove where it meets the side brick.
So save your hard earned money and wait till its no longer useable and then order one here at Castfireplaces we will be listing the back fireplace brick on its own as we can now purchase these seperately in stead of in sets so if the side two are ok you only need to change the back one.
Orders from Castfireplaces as another online retailer lets them down
January 19th, 2012It seems to be happening more often these days with our competitors advertising items that are not in stock and taking orders for them then to to cancel with the customer just before a due delivery date or failing to deliver ontime as in todays story.
I have just put the phone down from a customer based in Leeds who has ordered a Classic 8 Stove from us after ordering one from another online retailer.
This other fireplace company promised them a delivery on the 13th ,17th and again on the 18th January and failed to deliver three times, now at the very least that is poor service as our customer has waited in all day three times for her stove not to arrive.
Now when you shop at Castfireplaces not only do we tell you when its going to arrive we also give you a one hour window of when our drivers should be with you.
We never take orders on items that we know are out of stock and promise delivery times we know we can not keep, its not as if they were cheaper than us with our delivery charge we still were £8 cheaper than them and we can assure you it will arrive when we say it will.
So if you want the best service in the fireplace and stove trade order from Castfireplaces then sit back and relax and let us deliver your fireplace or stove ontime everytime.
Does a real fireplace add value to a home?
January 18th, 2012A real fireplace is an incredibly appealing feature in a home and in some ways, that’s the long and short of it – anything that makes a home more appealing, adds to its value. It may be hard to quantify exactly how much value a fireplace will add, but at the same time, it might make the difference between selling a house or not. To some extent, it will always depend on the buyers.
To get some idea of the popularity of real fires, consider that people have published lists of pubs with real fires online. It is something people seek out in cold weather. There’s just something about being warmed by a real fire and you can’t get the same effect simply through being in an equally comfortable centrally heated environment.
However, don’t think that a real fire is automatically a strength. If your fireplace is rundown and poorly maintained, it may detract from the value of the house. Prospective buyers may not see a potential focal point to a room so much as a necessary investment that is being inflicted upon them. A beautiful fireplace is appealing. A decrepit fireplace is something of a headache, even if it does have promise.
Changes made to our Modern Fireplaces Sections
January 17th, 2012Good afternoon and at long last i have had a couple of hours today to sit in front of the pc and impliment some changes to our website.
