So we had a phone call about the Celtic Full Polish Fireplace and whether they could collect it after visiting Crich Tramway museam which is not far from us and to be honest is good day out.
So always one to be helpful im meeting them at 4pm on Easter Monday at our showroom so they can take it away with them as they are in the area and wish to collect saving them £50 delivery charge.
We are out in the morning on an easter egg trail at Kedleston Hall so collection earlier wasn’t possible.
We do have an if we can we will attitude here so as you can see we do offer things and services other companies do not thats what makes shopping with Castfireplaces one of the best buying experiances you will ever have online.

Can we collect Fireplace when visiting Crich Tramway
Sunday, April 4th, 2010Crown Half Polish Fireplace to Isle of Wight
Monday, March 22nd, 2010Last week we were asked if we can deliver to the Isle of Wight a Crown 40″ x 40″ cast iron arched fireplace complete with a granite hearth and an Electric Insert.
We do not delivery to the Isle of Wight its just to time consuming and expensive to travel by ferry there and as we dont sell many there its just not economical to do.
Anyway we do have a solution we have sent things before on pallets to Isle of Wight and have used a great shipping agent that will collect from us.
So we explained this to Mr Morgan and he has come back to us with his own collection and delivery company and asked us if we can wrap it up safe on a pallet for him.
So order placed and items are in stock now ready to be collected so tomorrow morning i will get wrapping and packing this up for collection.
I am becoming quite an expert at wrapping up items and the amount of bubble wrap we use on all our small items we send in the post has been commented on many timees
So if you live in the Isle of Wight, Man or any other island we dont deliver there by our own vehicles but can normally sort out a pallet delivery for you with the minimum of fuss
Replacement Firebricks for my Celtic Fireplace
Monday, March 15th, 2010Today we have had a phonecall about the cast iron back firebrick in the celtic fireplace and why does it move up and down and do i have to seal it shut.
The idea is to have this little replacement brick as when the fireplace is being used for solid fuel use there is a little expansion and contraction but primarily this firebrick is where all the heat is contained and as these are proper working fireplaces the brick is designed to be replaced when it shows sign of wear and tear.
Now recently we have had one or two customers ring up saying that the replacement brick has bowed in towards the fire and it is really damaged.
This basically is though not backfilling the fireplace as the area behind the cast iron back needs to be packed tightly with vermiculite or rubble making sure that no air pockets are left.
Heats registered fitters will enusre this job is done properly and its normally DIY people we find who have not backfilled at all or done it wrong.
Its not the end of the world as the bricks are replaceable and cost £25.
So back to the original question leave the firebrick with its cast iron brackets that hold it in place and do not overtighten and make sure it moves up and down backfill the fireplace properly and all will be good for years to come.
Deeper Back For Solid Fuel Fireplaces
Thursday, March 4th, 2010Hello again todays little article is about a product we are getting asked for more and more but it only fits a few of our Fireplaces.
Brand new in the 2010 purple brochure photographed with the Pembroke Black Fireplace is an item called Deeper Back For Solid fuel use.
Basically this is an extra back supplied by us to replace the standard back that comes with the fireplaces it fits. It has been designed to increase the area for burning solid fuel fot the following three Fireplaces
Pembroke
Henley
Jubilee
These three very popular fireplaces have the option of the deeper back which to be fair does increase the size quite a bit and are ideal for customers wanting to use solid fuel fire regurlarly.
The original cast back is removed and this deeper one bolted on replacing it, as it is not tapered as much it forms a squarer opening and also it gains 65mm depth wise too so you have more room to throw on some more coal or a log or two.
It adds £105 to the price of a fireplace package as we have to replace the solid fuel kit with one with a bigger grate and ashpan too.
The damper flap is the same size with the same design on it so if you you wish to use your fireplace for solid fuel regurlarly consider having one of theose three fireplaces and then we can offer you the Deeper back to go with it.
Will add photo next week of the items when i remember to take my camera to the Factory
Daisy Highlighted Fireplace is it from B and Q
Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010We sell a small combination fireplace on our website called the Daisy which is available in Black or a Highlighted Finish.
It is made by Gallery but has been dropped from the 2010 brochure but is still available to us as and we will continue to stock it.
Today i have had a phonecall from a lady in Redcar enquiring whether we had the Daisy in stock as she had ordered one from B and Q in January but they telephoned her today telling her they are not in stock till May along with their small cast iron hearth.
Now May in my mind is a long way off seeing as we have only just started March that leadtime is wrong.
I find it really strange how a huge company like B and Q can run out of such items and what are there re ordering levels like to be without an item from January to May.
The Fireplace they supply is not the Daisy Fireplace and we are not short on stock of them so we have yet another order in the bag and the item on its way to Redcar next week again down to yet another comapny who can not supply goods in time for the customers needs.
Also today we have had someone order a fireplace from Shropshire and drive to Nottingham to collect it as the one he bought from ebay was missing parts and was not as described.
Beware of cheap items on any auction sites there always cheap for the wrong reasons
Are they really Gallery Fireplaces at that Price
Sunday, February 28th, 2010A nice question to answer and yes we really do sell gallery fireplaces at the prices we sell them at no copies no rejects just genuine gallery fireplaces at the best prices.
I was asked the above question about the Gallery Pembroke Black Fireplace package for solid fuel use with the extra deep back today.
All these items are in stock to ready to take away or be delivered so when i told the customer it was £570 delivered to Evesham this Friday they were very happy.
The lady who ordered asked me again if there were the same ones that appear in the Purple Gallery brochure as she had been quoted £1100 from her local fireplace shop and it would take a minimum of two weeks for it to arrive to them.
Being wary of using the internet to place an order she found our contact details very easily and called us to ask the questions and find out how long delivery would take.
Also with us being open on a sunday when others are shut she found it great that she could speak to someone then and there.
Always one to offer the best customer service its all part of our normal job but we realise how frustrating other companies can be who do not return emails or calls but they thats there loss.
So another order in the bag loking forward to tomorrow now for our new vehicle
Can you get me a Black Palmerston Mantel
Wednesday, February 24th, 2010Early this evening at 6.30 pm we had a call from a Mr C in Herefordshire asking if we have a 54″ Black Palmerston cast iron surround in stock and when is the earliest we can deliver.
This is not a stock item for us as they weigh a ton and are quite fragile being a full cast iron surround so we order them in when ordered from our website.
As our suppliers close at 5pm i can not find out until the morning if we can get one in time for next Fridays Devon, Gloucs and South West run, after enquiring with him whether he was in a rush he told me he had ordered one form another company at the Start of December and they still had not delivered it.
I told him it would have come from China quicker than that and he laughed and i now we have had some of them in the last few weeks and are not aware as to if they are short in supply or out of stock.
If i were the said D***** Fireplace company i would be ashamed of myself not being able to turn around an item within nearly 12 weeks its disgusting service and the type of cowboy antics that give online retailers a bad name.
So hopefully i will be able to get hold of the item and deliver next week he certainly seemed happy that we are going to ring him in the morning and let him know either way he obviously has had no customer service from them either.
Well thats what makes us different here at Cast Fireplaces we care about the service we offer and customers are valued when shopping with us so why would you shop anywhere that does not offer this.
Derby Fireplace Back in Stock
Friday, January 29th, 2010Today we have taken even more Fireplaces into stock and is sees the return of the Derby Fireplace back in to stock. Luckily this combiantion fireplace was on order as we have sold two in the last week and were just waiting on them coming into stock.
Ido like this fireplace hence why we keep it in stock as it is a gallery fireplace but they withdrew it from there range a few years ago but we decided to continue to sell it as it has sold very well and there was nothing in the Gallery range to comapare it too.
We also still kepp in stock the paris and the daisy combination fireplaces even though they have dropped from the 2010 brochure and again they are nice designs that sell well so im not sure why they have dissapeared from the range with out an alternative taking its place.
Im not moaning though it just means very few firms will be able to offer these fireplaces and so we will have more orders for them which is always a good thing for us.
Funnily enough writing this post a customer of ours who had a pembroke last week has just rung asking if they can collect a Daisy Highlighted Fireplace next week that is really strange right im off to but a bet on Forest beating Derby on Saturday see if that comes in as well
Daisy Fireplace Cast iron Combination is Featured Item
Monday, January 4th, 2010Well back to work properly today and have been to the factory and met a few customers for collection and been in office all day planning routes for delivery and generally sorting things out and i can now say we are back up to Full Speed.
Over Christmas and New Year we did write a few articles but not much in the day to day things we write about as we were closed so there was not much to tell you.
Anyway in all the festive fun i forgot to do the Featured items which we normally do at the start of the month
This months featured cast iron fireplace is The Daisy Combination Fireplace this small bedroom fireplace had been discontinued by Gallery from the fireplace brochure but is still available to us directly on container so we will carry on selling this Bedroom size cast in both the Black and Highlighted Finish.
I has a shelf width of 30″ and is perfect for any small bedroom chimney breast i personally think gallery have dropped a clanger removing this from the range but im sure it will benefit us as many fireplace shops will not be able to supply it.
Also it will be held in price and will not be affected by any current price increase. We also offer it as one of our packages for gas, solid fuel,LPG and electric use so if you do want a working bedroom fireplace thats is great value look no further than the Daisy Fireplace
