Today i had a phonecall at 8.30 am from a customer in Acomb York enquiring as to whether we had an Asquith Limestone mantel in stock and if they could come and collect one which luckily for them is a stock item.
To be honest we get asked regurlarly for limestone surrounds on there own as we find customer sometimes just replace the surround to give an existing fireplace a new lease of life so i enquired as to what dimensions the existing fire place was just to make sure it was suitable.
Over the years us asking our customers various things has saved a huge amount of costly mistakes or wrong ordered items etc.
So half way through i found out they had ordered a fireplace from someone known to us who is a regular bandit and name of this particular company has loads of bad reviews online and beleive it or not can only be contacted by email for faults etc.
I find this disgusting if you have a problem you want to speak to someone not email them its just very rude
It turns out the Limestone they ordered was smashed to pieces and they are refusing to supply new one as customer signed delivery notes as ok and they have no comeback on the haulage company.
After telling him what consumer rights he has he still wanted to order Limestone as he had fitter coming Thursday Morning.
As we are short staffed this week with Rhian being in Hospital for once we could not deliver it before then so he drove down and we unboxed the mantel and he took it away in his car.
Damages do happen more often than not when sending by pallet delivery Fireplaces are fragile items and need handling with care thats why we deliver all over the Uk ourselves and never entrust them to pallet delivery.
So please bear this in mind when ordering your fireplace and Stove who will it be delivered by how am i covered if its damaged and what are my rights
We offer a transparent simple service if your not happy tell us and w ewill work as hard as we can to sort it out not just say sorry its not our fault.
But anyway with our fantastic personal home delivery service we dont do damages we inspect all items prior to delivery so im confident everything will arrive in one piece and if it doesnt were here to sort it out.

Why do Customers choose other Fireplace Retailers
Wednesday, March 10th, 2010General Fireplace News and Updates
Thursday, February 25th, 2010Well i managed to sort out Mr C’s order for his Black 54″ Palmerston which is now ordered and on its way to us from our fantastic suppliers after yesterdays article about a 12 week wait from another online company.
I have been to said suppliers today to collect a few items that were needed for another rush job for a customer in Solihull im delivering to in the morning after he came to our showroom yesterday he ordered a Jubilee and Brompton and a Hamilton and Brompton package
The Hamilton we didnt have in stock but i collected it today and is being delivered in the morning at 8am so they can start fitting.
We do try our best to work with our customers and if we can get it there in what sometimes is very short notice we will thats one of the reasons why we keep so much in stock we really are a fireplace Cash and Carry.
It now brings me on to website update news which has somewhat stalled the last couple of days as we just seem to have been so busy, i have approved the new dimension layout which we are going to test tomorrow on a few items and see what our customers think before rolling out to all our items and im pleased to say it will have its own tab like we first mentioned and how it was on our old website.
Im really pleased about that and for a while i dint think it would be ok but ive tried a formaty out on the Black Pembroke Fireplace Package and it works perfectly on there so all is good.
So expect this and other new items to be finished by the end of next week when im pretty sure we should have everything done.
Local Developer Orders Six Jubilee and Brompton Limestone Fireplaces
Saturday, February 20th, 2010Hello good evening to you all im sat again at my desk at 8.30 pm writing a few thoughts about whats going on in our little fireplace bubble.
Today has again been very busy with the first call this morning bang on 9am from Mr Barker asking if he can collect a basket today he had ordered instead of Sunday this turned out to be de ja vu an hour later as Mr Hein said exactly the same it must have been the sunny morning people wanting to get jobs done.
I must admit i was the same i set out to tidy up my front tool shed and in between answering calls and meeting people at the factory i finished it at 4pm after a run to the tip i wouldn’t mind its only an old toilet and is not that big.
Anyway that sorted i sat down with a nice cup of tea and the phone rang again so off back to the office i went, it turned out to be a local developer from Crich who is completing some new builds in Ashover and had seen my van on his way to Denby Pottery and took down website address.
He had visited our Website and chosen the Jubilee and Brompton Limestone Packages for the houses he is finishing and ordered six full gas packages after a little negotiation.
These Packages are to be delivered over the next three weeks two at a time so his fitters can fit them as they are delivered.
As we keep them in stock he was very pleased we could send the first batch out Tuesday next week so they could make a start.
Asking where he found us from he told me about going to Denby Pottery and seeing our sign written van so it just goes to proove it does work having a well sign written van people can see who we are and exactly what we do.
So another nice order placed all thanks to our Van living next to a main road and the way i park it on our drive it really does stand out you really cant miss it
Customer let down by Fireplace shop drives 180 miles to collect from Us
Saturday, December 12th, 2009We have has a customer today drive from Carlisle which is 180 miles away from us to collect a Lytton and Brompton Limestone Package from us.
He wanted a Black lytton arched fireplace package for solid fuel use with the 51″ brompton limestone which is an item we keep in stock, when he rang last night around 8 o’clock just before we closed he couldnt believe we had the items in stock and he could collect them today (Saturday).
Anyway as i found out today he has ordered this package from his local fireplace shop and they told him it was going to be delivered monday so he had arranged his own fitter a friend of the family he said (i didn’t ask if he was HETAS registered) to fit it later this week in time to finish decorating for Christmas.
Anyway to cut a long story short and to save you from the excuses the fireplace shop gave him it turns out they can not now deliver it till 3rd week in January, now this presents some bit of a problem as he wants to get large hole filled with a nice new fireplace before the big day.
After phoning all of his local shops he switched to going online and came across us on Google whilst searching for “Gallery Limestone Fireplaces” for which he tells me we are on the 1st page (good seo) and was very pleased he could still have his fireplace and get it fitted.
He arrived around lunchtime and it was promptly loaded after being checked in has Vito Van and off he drove leaving me a bottle of Wolf Blass red wine as a thank you.
Now that really was a nice gesture it really is my job to meet customers and be as helpful as we can but when someone gives you a little present it really is nice so thanks for that i love red wine and yellow label is one of my favorites so im going to have a glass of that with my dinner this evening i cant drink the whole bottle as i normally would im delivering at 4am in the morning and need to be fresh and sober.
Regal And Brompton Limestone Fireplace Package
Tuesday, December 1st, 2009This months featured limestone fireplace is the Regal and Brompton Limestone Package this particular arched insert is one of the smaller inserts we do which is suitable for using in a limestone or timber mantel of smaller sizes to suit the chimney breasts where either they are smaller than average or in aroom where space is tight.
The Regal arch is actually one of our most decorative arched inserts and is only available in the Highlighted finish as shown so it really brings the decorative features in the band to life,it alsohas a smaller cast iron back so the chmaber size in your chimney breast does not ahve to be so large.
It can be used for Solid fuel gas and electric use and is available as a fireplace package in all options.
The Brompton surround we sell with this package is available in a 51″ shelf width only as this is the Surround which is most suitable for this particular arched insert. All made form 100% solid agean limestone i amsure you will agree that this makes a fantastic looking victorian styled fireplace that is suitable for chimney breasts of around 52″ and above.
If this is still to large have a look at the Henlow or Ripley Limestone mantel which is available with a shelf width of 48″ which is ideal for even the smallest chimney breast wanting a limestone feature fireplace.

Jubilee and Brompton Limestone makes Customer Fireplace Gallery
Tuesday, October 13th, 2009I have been sitting on these photos for what seems an age now as we were having problems uploading them to our article section this has now been resolved and I am pleased to say we will see a return to the Customer Fireplace Gallery.
The First feature fireplace i think is probably one of the best photos we have ever been sent of one of our Fireplaces it is the best selling limestone package The Jubilee and Brompton
The Limestone surround is a 54” version with the gas insert all sat on a granite hearth.
See below what our customer says about us.
Hi Mark,
Many thanks for an outstanding service! It was a genuine pleasure to do business with you. Great prices, great service, and great products. What more could one wish for?!
You promised me an 8am delivery. Your driver ‘phoned me at about one minute to eight, to apologize because he was stuck in traffic and would not be with me until approximately ten past eight!!!
Now that is service! How many times have we all ordered items on the Internet, only to wait around all day on the day of delivery.
Your driver was brilliant. Polite and cheerful, he carried everything in to the exact spot where I wanted it – no problem.
I would like to wish you every success for the future. Such dedication and commitment warrants it!
Needless to say, I will be recommending you to all my friends and acquaintances.
This fireplace that is shown in the picture below just looks absolutely fantastic in this room setting with the pale walls and the cream beige carpet I think it really makes a focal point of that chimney breast so if you are inspired by Mr Bennett’s photo of there fitted fireplace just click on the photo to take you straight through to that item
Whats the Best Selling Limestone Fireplace Package
Sunday, October 4th, 2009So we start the featured Fireplace best sellers for September and the 1st one as usual is the best selling Limestone Package and it is the Coronet and Brompton this package looks fantastic in the 51” version and is ideal for smaller chimneybreasts or where space is restricted.
Also very popular this month was the Coronet and Henlow, which is even smaller at 48” which again suits the smaller chimneybreast.
All the Coronet and Brompton packages were sold for gas use with the Half Polish coronet insert which is strange not to have even sold one solid fuel option.
I have even checked the item on our website today to make sure it was still available as an option and I hadn’t deleted it whilst updating our website.
The Agean Limestone Brompton surround is normally our best selling limestone surround so its no surprise to feature this item but the Coronet has done well to dislodge the Jubilee or Henley arched fireplaces.
As I said earlier it must be due to the smaller size chimneys our customers are fitting fireplaces too.
So if you like our featured fireplace click on the picture below and order Septembers best selling limestone Fireplace

Lytton and Brompton Limestone Fireplaces Package August Best Seller
Tuesday, September 1st, 2009Well here we are again and we start this months feature with a usual suspect for this months winner it is the Lytton and Brompton Limestone Package which has won the Limestone Fireplaces best seller for August.
The Lytton arched insert has for a long time been our best selling arched insert and looks perfect with the Brompton Limestone. This package is available in three different sizes with mantels shelf widths of 51” 54” and 56” to suit various sizes of chimney breasts so I’m sure we have a Brompton package for your home,
The surround is made from 100% agean limestone and is made from natural material and with prices starting at £590 for real a limestone fireplace they are a bargain too.
As normal we offer this package in Solid Fuel (Real Fire) Gas and Electric use so we have a choice for most chimney options.
This package is available in a matt black finish which is ideal for people wishing to avoid tarnishing on the bars when using heavily for solid fuel use or a Highlighted version which looks fantastic with gas and electric use. This month the winner was gas use then solid fuel and 2 sets sold for electric use.
The 54” version has been by far the most popular this month but we have sold both 51” and 56” sets making the Lytton and Brompton Package this months run way winner in the Limestone of the Month category.
If you wish to view item further or even purchase click on link above or photo below to take you straight through to the item.
Tomorrow sees the Cast iron of the month so keep checking back to see our most popular fireplace sets
Coronet and Brompton Limestone Fireplace Package is July Winner
Tuesday, August 4th, 2009So we start off with our Featured Fireplace Packages with the Limestone Section as normal with a worthy winner for the month in the Coronet and Brompton Limestone Package
We supply this Arched inserts in two finishes the Half Polish as shown in the photo or in the Matt Black Finish. This package is ideally suite to chimneybreasts with a smaller opening and smaller width as its ideal for both of these as the mantel is available in a 51” version which all of these sold in July were.
Gas packages were again very popular in this months sales of this package and we sold all of them for gas use bar one, which was for electric use.
This is probably due to the fact that the Coronet has a smaller opening and grate size so can only burn a small amount of solid fuel so we normally recommend its big Brother the Crown for solid fuel use, which has larger area for burning wood.
I really like this package and Gallery have finally featured it in their 2008 –2009 brochure on page 2 so customers can now see this package in the brochure which always leads to an increase in sales of any product featured and with prices starting from £595 it’s a real bargain too
See what you think to this months best selling limestone fireplace in the picture below and if you like it why not click on link above to take you straight through to the item on our website.
