Good afternoon and at long last i have had a couple of hours today to sit in front of the pc and impliment some changes to our website.
We have loads of new products to add and some to delete and today i have made changes to our Modern Fireplaces On our website we have categories where different types of fireplaces are for sale mainly according to the style of them, we had a new green brochure arrive in December with some new polar white fireplace suites which are in micro marble and a few of the fireplaces we sold have been discontinued mainly the marfil range but some items like the Bowland and Denver have been withdrawn.
So today has been spent updating these sctions and adding new items in various materials and im pleased to say its all complete for you to view and you can now order all the new fireplaces we have added.
Its a very time consuming thing adding new items and making changes but i’ve made a start and there are new items to be added to our website over the next few weeks i have a huge list which im going to start working my way through.
So our Modern Fireplaces section is complete and up to date so its all there for you too view and make your choice and rest assured everything on our website in these sections is current so we are not still selling redundant or discontinued stock.

Changes made to our Modern Fireplaces Sections
Tuesday, January 17th, 2012Can we use Micro Marble for Solid Fuel
Tuesday, August 9th, 2011Here on our website we have a section in our Modern fireplaces called Micro Marble Fireplace Suites now micro marble is a manufactured substance using crushed marble and special resins to achieve the colours we use in our fireplace suites.
As it is not a natural stone it can not be be used for solid fuel as it is bonded together with resins.
A customer this morning rang to check as he had seen on our website our Granite Panels for solid fuel use but liked the look of the Rydal Suite but wanted to have a real fire.
After i had explained to him he said he thought that was the case as we did not offer a solid fuel option as part of the fireplace packages.
So showed our customer the Granite Panel and Brompton Suite which he has gone away to think about and to convince his wife who was not to keen on the Black Panel.
I did try to offer him Gas or Electric but was quickly told NO due to the energy prices and him getting a coal allowance, so aprt from going for a traditional cast fireplace the granite panel is probably the best way forward for what he wants.
So In answer to the Question in this post is NO you can not use Micromarble, Portuguese Limestone or Jurastone for solid fuel uses they really do not work.
Modern Fireplace Suites are selling really well
Wednesday, June 29th, 2011Here at Castfireplaces a few weeks ago we altered the layout of our Modern Fireplace Packages to make it clearer for our customers.
We now have sections for each individual type including our original modern suites, and seperate categories for Portuguese Limestone, Micro Marble and Jura-stone.
This i feel has made it simpler for our customers to navigate around and im pleased to say we have seen a large increase in the sales of Modern Fireplaces due to this.
With our website name being Castfireplaces it leads itself towards the more traditional type of fireplaces and sometimes our customers do not realise we also offer modern fireplaces.
So we have had a these new categories done so its simpler for our customers to navigate and with an increase in our SEO strategy we are now seeeing good returns on our investment.
We will continue to monitor this over the winter months and with sales of these modern packages inproving both us and our suppliers are quite happy.
As we offer the best delivery service online you can be assured it will arrive in one piece, believe me these items are very fragile and need very special care when handling.
They are wrapped in a cradboard box with plenty of wrapping inside but as they are stone will break if mishandled, Castfireplaces are fireplace experts so are very used to handling items like this.
Right of to the showroom to meet one of our out of hours viewings bye for now
Modern Fireplace Sales are increasing at Castfireplaces
Monday, May 30th, 2011Good Afternoon
Having a domain name like castfireplaces tells you mainly what we do here but we also stock a large range of modern fireplaces that we sell via our showroom and website.
We have a good range of Jurastone in various finishes and styles along with the micromarble we sell which is also very popular, one of the most popular modern fireplace finishes we sell is the Portuguese limestone.
This is manufactured from 100% solid natural portuguese limestone and has grey veins running through it.
Each fireplace is unique in markings and colours and offers a great modern fireplace package at prices that wll suit every pocket.
For a few years now Gallery have produced a green brochure showcasing this fabulous range and Castfireplaces have recently added three new catgories for our customers to make it easier to navigate round and choose your perfect fireplace.
So it really comes as no suprise sales of modern fireplaces have risen over the last month as we continue to update our website.
We also have a range of Granite Panels and Hearths photographed with many different surrounds which are also popular with our customers due to the simple design.
The great thing with the modern fireplaces is that you can use convector fires and high output gas fires and enhance the look of your modern fireplace which is not always possible with a traditional fireplace.
A contemporary fireplace could improve the look of your room
Friday, May 6th, 2011Often when we are redesigning a room, we make our decisions about décor based on the appearance of the fireplace. This makes a lot of sense, but if you feel like you are going to be stuck with a design that you’re not really that happy with as a result of that fireplace, you can always change it. It is a fairly significant job, but this will allow you free rein to make the room look exactly how you want.
Home décor has generally become more minimalist in recent years. Extravagant decoration is a thing of the past for many people, which means that in an older home, the fireplace may look somewhat out of place if it dates back a few years.
Modern fireplace designs are generally a lot simpler, with the emphasis on the quality of the materials used, whether natural stone or manufactured. Clean, straight lines are common and there will generally be little or no decoration – perhaps just a slight refinement of edges and corners. If your home is generally decorated in a contemporary style, you should get a fireplace that complements that.
Take a look at our range of Modern Fireplaces and see what we have to offer you.
Modern Fireplaces Section in new format
Tuesday, April 19th, 2011After listening to advice from our customers a few have told me they wish to be able to buy modern fireplaces on there own without a choice of fire.
So we have taken note of what you have said and have created 3 new categories
Jura Stone Fireplace Suites
Micromarble Fireplace Suites
Portuguese Limestone Fireplace Suites
These sections contain the fireplace suites without the option of buying a fire so it makes it very clear and simple exactly what you are ordering.
We have also split them down into simple categories so you can also view and compare all the finsihes in the same section.
These new sections also contain our new text format which lists in details exactly waht each fireplace comes with and the sizes on offer.
There is also a link on each package so if you wish to view the fires you can, another of the features we have added is a colour swatch for each fireplace so you can see in enlarged detail an accurate picture of the stone.
Im sure our customers wil find this very helpful in choosing an ew modern fireplace for their home.
We are going to continue having our modern suites category and make some changes to that so customers can see exactly what is on offer.
If you need any help or wish to comment on our new sections drop me an email im always interested in your comments or ideas to make Castfireplaces the simplest place to shop for fireplaces online
Do you supply Stone Samples for your fireplaces
Tuesday, July 6th, 2010A nice simple question and the answer is yes we can supply colour and materail smaples for all our gallery fireplaces that we sell on our website.
Today we have had the following email
“I am looking to place an order on your website, however i am not sure which fireplace to go for as it is very difficult to get a true representation of the colour online – i was wondering if you had any samples in the JuraStone (cotsworld and chiltern) finishes as i am not sure which one to get.”
So its simple to sort out we do have small squres of stone that we can post out no problem at all free of charge.
This particular customer is based in Plymouth a little to far to come and view our showroom so i have emailed them back informing them samples will be sent 1st class in the morning.
So if you are browsing our Modern Suites section where we have all our Jura Stone range and you too require a stone sample so you can view colour and also feel the texture of the finish let us know and we will will post of sample for you too.
Its simple things like this what we do here at Castfireplaces to help our customers make a choice instead of just saying No we always try to find some soloution and over time we have had loads of business from it.
So on that note im now going to dissapear and wrap up the jura stone samples.
Dont forget we also have timber samples in Oak and Pine along with Limestone,Granite and Slate in stone
Bye for Now
Modern Fireplace suites can we change hearth
Saturday, May 8th, 2010A simple question with a simple answer and basically thats no let me explain a little further
All the Modern Suites we sell on our website are available as a full package so if you buy any of the particular suites it comes with the back panel and hearth to match in the chosen finish.
So if you for instance say order a portuguese limestone suite it comes with the hearth and panel and of course surround all in portuguese limestone.
They come as a full suite and we have no option of changing anything.
A Customer today enquired as to whether they could have a limestone suite but with a black granite hearth for the same price.
We unfortunately can not buy just the surround and panel and then supply a granite hearth.
After explaining we can supply the suite and then with a discounted granite hearth as an extra item she was very pleased and went off to discuss it with her Husband.
I know its an extra £80 odd pounds for the hearth but theres not much we can do about it Gallery has decided to sell them as suites and as they normally come in large boxes with everything in the large box so there is no option for altering the hearth.
So if you wish to discuss a hearth option we will always see what we can offer you so just give us a ring before ordering it online.

This range we have offers you the largest choice on the internet for panel and hearth sets and is very popular due to the easy choice options.
Most places sell them as packages and do not offer you the option of changing fire but again with our new website choice and ease of use is king.
So if you are looking for a new granite fireplace and wish to view our range just head over too our Granite Modern Fireplaces Section and browse the range we do.
If we do not have your perfect fireplace listed just contact us and we can get you a package price for it.
Modern Fireplace Suites Materials Explained
Saturday, January 30th, 2010This is a quick guide to the materials we use in the manufacture of the modern Fireplace suites we sell from the Gallery Range
PORTUGUESE LIMESTONE
This is natural stone, cut straight from the earth. The stone is sedimentary limestone formed over 50 million years ago. The characteristic darker veins on the light background intermingled with fossils of plants and animal life all add to the beauty and individuality of this great material. To find ‘blooms’, lighter and darker veins, ’whisps’ of fossilized fern leaves and other unique features are not considered as defects but are part of the experience of owning a Portuguese Limestone suite. All the suites shown in this brochure can be purchased, made from PORTUGUESE LIMESTONE and come complete with matching hearth and three-piece back panel
MICROMARBLE MOCHA BEIGE – MARFIL & PERLA
An engineered stone, manufactured from crushed marble and specially developed resins, is used to make the suites shown in this brochure. The Clifton, The Durrington 42 and The Cranbourne are supplied with a three-piece back panel whilst the remainder can be supplied with single piece back panels. Each suite is sold with its matching hearth.
JURA-STONE COTSWOLD - CHILTERN – PERLA
Another natural product, marble, is used in the construction of these suites. JURA STONE is made from aesthetically unappealing sheets of solid marble and then coated with one of two great finishes. These finishes are the smooth Cotswold and the slightly textured Chiltern. Both finishes give a consistent appearance of stone. The Clifton, The Durrington 42 and The Cranbourne are supplied with a three-piece back panel whilst the remainder can be supplied with single piece or three-piece back panels. Each suite is sold with its matching hearth.
