Get a Multi fuel stove before winter and avoid fuel costs

Saturday, September 24th, 2011

Reading the paper last night after i had finished work i read an article about fuel poverty and the amount opf people that were facing a winter of deciding whther to heat their homes or pay other bills.
With gas and electric bills for an average house of around £1300 its about time people chose another alternative to heating the homes we live in.
At Castfireplaces we sell many stoves and they have never been as popular as our sales go through the roof.
A Stove is one of the best forms of heating and is one of the most efficent ways to heat a room and with the multi fuel stoves we sell return efficiency of around 78% you can see you really get good heat output for the fuel put in.
if you can source cheap logs or even free it will cut your fuel bills drastically over the winter months and even burning coal is cheaper than having the boiler running and also you have the added effect of looking at a real fire its quite hypnotic.
So before we get into the real cold months ahead consider installing a new multifuel stove from our range and then sit back and count the savings from your enegy suppliers, it really is time to act before the Winter arrives

Busy Day of Stove Collections at Castfireplaces

Wednesday, September 7th, 2011

Well what a busy day im still sat in the office at nearly 9pm after a very busy day here at Castfireplaces.
We have had 6 different customers to our showroom and factory today at Langley mill collecting various stoves from the range we sell.
We have sold both Carron and Gallery Firefox and Tiger stoves to these customers and as stoves will fit simply into the boot of a hatchback car they are our most collected item here at Castfireplaces.
Three of our customers came to view originally but they all took the stoves away with them as we keep them in stock and saving between £20 and £50 delivery as an average price it makes them very cheap.
We are very competitive on our stove prices if not the cheapest to be found so when you add the fact they can be can be collected at no further charge you can appreciate they are very cheap.
With us being ideally located in Langley Mill just off the M1 we are also within very easy range for our customers to come and visit us with the minimum of travelling long distances.
So if you wish to come and view our collection of gallery fireplaces and stoves just give us a cal we will be very happy to meet you at our showroom

Chimney lining kit when do we use that

Saturday, September 3rd, 2011

Here we sell all the components you require when fitting a stove whether it be a small length of vitreous flue down to twin wall flue systems for when you have no external flue.
Now a question i have been asked quite alot recently is do you have to have a flue liner installed when fiiting a new stove, now i know the majority of fireplace shops tell customers it is required so they can bump up the fitting and supply costs but we are a little more honest here.
Before you buy any stove have your chimney swept and tested and the sweep will tell you if its all ok and can be used for solid fuel use.
If its fine you only require a register plate and a length of vitreous flue and rely on the chimney to take the fumes away naturally.
Now if the chimney is faulty it will need to be lined and the cheapest way for this is with one of our chimney lining kits which is dropped down the existing opening and connected to the flue pipe from your stove and suspended from the chimney pot.
We also use them when the chimney has excessive draw as it hen runs on the optimum flue size and will create better control over it.
So if you are unsure as to whether you need a flue lining kit just drop us an email or give us a call we really are here to help

Why has my wood burning stove lost control

Friday, September 2nd, 2011

Good morning im writing this whilst sat on a sunbed on my iphone i thought it would be a good idea to post a blog whilst i was on holiday to let you know how warm it is and the fact we are enjoying ourselves so much.
It seems you have been busy buying stoves and fireplaces and we have have answered numerous emails to keep the business ticking over.
Anyway todays post is about an email i read this morning as to why one of our previous customers from a few years ago has found his firefox 5 stove can not be controlled now by the air intake at the bottom and seems to roar away all the time.
Im pretty sure i know the answer to this as i asked him if the rope seal was intact and he told me it had frayed so he cut it back and glued it back in.
Now this has left a gap of around 4″ near the side of the door which basically is letting air into the stove and coupled with the fact the rope is now flat after many years of use the seal is now nowhere near as good as it should be and air is leaking in all round.
I emailed him back and pointed himtowards the Replacement Door Rope Seal Kits confident of the fact this will cure his problem.
Right back off to the sun and the beer only a few days left im afraid
Bye for now

Carron enamel stoves added to our website produce sales

Monday, August 22nd, 2011

On our website in Our DEFRA approved stove section we have the Carron range of enamel stoves.
These are available with heat otputs from 4.7 to 7.3KW we do have three models and theyare available in numerous colours.
We have sold Carron items since we first started trading but as our gallery range has grown throught the years we have never offered much Carron items on our website.
Since we intorduced the Carron 7.3kw stove to our range it has become very popular and we do have them in our showroom and also in stock to take away.
So we added the enamel versions of these stoves two weeks ago and this weekend we have now sold 2 red stoves to customers in Falkirk and Farnham.
We are in Norwich tomorrow so both our being collected from Carron at Newark on our way home, we do not keep the enamel stoves in stock and are ordered as required from Carron.
The finish on them is fantastic and Richard there rep tells me they have been very popular with his customers right throught the country.
They are available to buy on our website at very competitive prices and im pretty sure you will not find them cheaper elsewhere so take a look at our website and buy yourself a new Carron enamel stove.

Talk of new Gallery fireplaces Stoves

Wednesday, July 20th, 2011

Here at Castfireplaces we tend to find out information about new products before they are launched and find out whats coming to the gallery brochure before most others.
Anyway in the pink brochure is where all the Gallery stoves are and im told there are some changes coming along with new stoves and a smaller Firefox 8 Double Door stove.
I also know there are modifications to the Firefox 5CB Clean burn stove and more DEFRA approved models on the way too, here at Castfireplaces we do keep all the gallery range in stock at our showroom so our customers can see the full range when visiting us.
No doubt these new models will be added to our collection we may even have to build some more display units to showcase them properly.
One thing i do know is that they will be the same quality as the gallery range we currently offer and we have been selling these stoves now for over 10 years and i can honestly say we have had very few problems with them.
Why pay for a supposed “Premium Brand” stove as long as they are made of Cast Iron, Brick Lined and have an airwash sytem theres very little else to be offered by other brands.
Dont be fooled by our low prices you can walk into any fireplace shop and see these on offer along with the so called better stoves at prices nearly double ours.
So keep your eyes out and i will inform you when Castfireplaces has details of the new coming models.

Gallery Fireplaces Stoves are CE Approved

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

We have had an email today from a customer who has been in contact with a HETAS registered fitter as to whether our Stoves are suitable for them to fit.
Not all stoves are HETAS approved and there is no requirement for them to be.
Most stove manufacturers rightly so test there stoves to EN13240 standard which is the requirement for them to be used in the UK, basically this is to make sure they of a decent standard and have an efficent heat output.
There used to be a huge amount of cheap foreign imported stoves without any compliance which really should not be fitted and any registered fitter will refuse to fit.
When shopping at Castfireplaces you can rest assured all our stoves are compliant with current laws and you will have no problems getting them fitted.
After i explained this to our customer in a quick email the fitter is now happy to proceed and fit the Firefox 12 Stove for him, to be honest i have not had any registered fitter before question it and im pretty sure he was given some mixed advice.
So just make sure when buying a multi fuel stove that it is CE approved and tested to EN standards then you can be sure you will got the correct item and will encounter no further problems.

The Tiger Clean Burn Stove

Saturday, June 11th, 2011

Since its launch late last year the Tiger Clean Burn Stove or the Super Clean as its also known has become one of our best selling stoves.
It is in fact the Best selling Defra Approved Stove and with a price of £410 its not suprising.
We do have this stove on display at our showroom and two local fireplace trade fitters sell and fit a fair amount of them so that tells you how good they are.
With a heat output of 5KW it also does NOT require an external room vent which is ideal for most of our customers because no one likes the idea of cold air entering the room.
So with it being based on the standard tiger it has been adapted and tested to allow wood burning in smoke controlled areas and also has the abilty to burn smokeless fuels too without worry about breaking the law.
Please make sure the stove is fitted in accordance to Building Control and is either installed by HETAS registered fitter or has been passed by building inspector.
Anyway back to this great stove its made from cast iron is brick lined and has air wash sytem all the features expected of a decent stove.
Im preety sure this year this will be very close to outselling the popular Firefox 5 we do have plenty of both in stock or visit our showroom and come and see the full range of gallery and Carron stoves we have on offer
