Our Fireplace and Stove Website is one of the most simple to use online so we are told by many of our customers they find it very simple to navigate to which category they are after and say the ordering process is simple to use.
Here at Cast Fireplaces we are always adding new products and altering items so we do have to tweak our categories to still make it easy for you the customer to buy our lovely fireplaces baskets and stoves etc.
Tomorrow I am going to the Website Designers to approve the changes we are making to some of these categories to make our ordering process even simpler so over the next few weeks you may see a small change to our website but it all will be done with easy use in mind.
Our website will be having some server maintenance done on Saturday morning so things may run a little funny or slow why our hosts upgrade the PHP programming code which they tell me will make it more responsive (who knows what they are doing).
Please bear with us through these alterations and if you find our site is down just wait a short time as it will be back up and running very quickly.
You can always use the nice simple method and pick up the phone and talk to a human and order over the phone too we are always here to give you any advice and help you need and we do take orders over the phone at the same great prices to be found on our website.

Fireplace Fitters Who would you trust
Saturday, July 18th, 2009Here at Castfireplaces we take fitting of our fires and fireplaces very seriously that’s why we use a professional fireplace fitter who undertakes all our fitting work in the Midlands and surrounding areas. He does a fair amount of work for us and we are more than happy to put him in touch with you so you can have your new Fireplace fitted by someone we recommend and trust to do a good job.
We do have other fitter’s details for most areas and we have spoken to our previous customers to see if they would comment on their work and whether they would use them again.
This over time has allowed us to build up a good working relationship with these fitters and now 3 of them buy fireplaces from us too so you can rest assure when we give out there numbers you are guaranteed of having a good job done at a price that’s competitive and more importantly they are qualified to install the items whether you are using them for Gas or solid fuel use.
We never give out details of fitters whose work we haven’t seen or at the very least spoken to the customer and checked everything went ok. I know this sounds over the top but it is our reputation on the line so why would we jeopardise that and just offer any fitters services.

How do i calculate what size Stove in need to Heat Room
Friday, July 17th, 2009We often get asked as to which size Stove to use in a particular size room.
Here at Cast and Pine Direct we offer a good range of stoves with heat outputs varying from 5KW to 12 KW so we are pretty sure we will have a model for you whether you want is as the main heat source for the room or just as a secondary heat to light on a cold night.
They come in various sizes too so this must be taken into account plus the clearance around required around the sides of the stove which is normally 75mm to 100mm.
All the stoves we do have a controllable output to regulate the heat produced so bearing all this in mind it then comes down to the size of output stove to heat the room.

Its very simple to do and will give you a good idea of what size stove output you need all then you need to do is to match it too a stove you like than sit back and relax knowing that you have chosen the right size item to heat exactly what you want it heat.
It is always better to choose a higher output stove than you need so it is not always running at full capacity and as you can regulate the heat output you would find this of benefit to your fuel consumption too

Made to measure fireplace timber mantels
Thursday, July 16th, 2009Ever since we had our last post about Made to Measure Fireplace Surrounds we have seen an increase in orders for such products.
Stuart and Darren who make most of these surrounds have been kept quite busy making bespoke mantels and Daz said to me it makes a nice change having to do odd sizes and different dimensions (I am sure he would much rather build a Sauna in our showroom like he suggested).
Because we manufacture ourselves the vast majority of the Surrounds we sell means that we can offer these bespoke mantels at prices that are not too expensive in relation to our standard items.
Some of the work we have one this week include an Oak Brompton Mantel with no rebate so it fits flush to the wall when fitting around a wood burning stove.
We have also made a made to measure Worcester Pine Mantel which will be used to fit around an existing arched fireplace that the customer already had and wanted to use in their house renovation.
These are just a couple of examples of what we can do at Cast and Pine so if you do see one of our mantels and it isn’t the right size for you just contact us and we can always make you a bespoke surround at prices that are unbelievable.
We will be adding a simple print off Easy measuring form so you can just fill in dimensions and email it us back so then we can easily manufacture your new surround to your sizes.

Fireplace Accesories are to be part of our ever growing Range
Wednesday, July 15th, 2009We are going to start stocking on our website a full range of Companion sets Firescreens and Buckets to compliment the range of fireplaces that we sell.
We have for years sold the Gallery Fireplaces range of products and they do a good varied range of all these accessories. We have never sold these items before online but do get asked for them and it makes sense to offer all these items as many of our customers do buy Buckets for there coal or wood and companion sets with tongues, shovels and brushes are to be found by most solid fuel fireplaces.
We are also going to offer a range of woven baskets that are suitable for holding a reasonable amount of dried wood in that are ideal to stand next to you wood burner or multi fuel stove.
All these items are to be added over the next few weeks once our website update takes place making our site even easier to navigate and also the categories are being tweaked a little to make your shopping experience simpler and make our goods easier to order

Do we sell Spares for original Victorian Fireplace
Tuesday, July 14th, 2009Do we stock spares for an original fireplace was a question I was first asked by a customer this morning who had left a message on our answering machine we start at 8AM in the morning in the week and at 9AM at the weekends so to have message earlier than this is unusual, anyway I rang them back to find out what they were after as we do have a work copy of the spares brochure listing all the spare parts we offer from bar sets to hoods and simple ash pans to cast iron replacement mantels all available for the range of fireplaces we sell and replacement parts to suit originals too.
After sending me an email with some images and sizes on I soon found the items they were missing.
This particular fireplace was simple to sort out as it was only missing a set of bars and a set of Tiles and was I must say a bargain at the £145 they had paid for it at a salvage auction.
The bars we had in stock from a Galway Fireplace that I somehow let fall over in our workshop damaging it beyond repair and the tiles they choose were from our website and were the Jazz Ivory Lilac which we also keep in stock so they have all been wrapped and sent by next Day delivery to a very happy customer.
In most cases we can supply Replacement parts for original fireplaces so just email us or contact us and we can see if we can order the parts to restore you Victorian or Other fireplace to its former Glory.

Fireplace Delivery and Show Room Update
Monday, July 13th, 2009Our new fireplace showroom has really started to take shape now all the joinery framework and boarding has been completed and it now has lights and sockets and the new stairs have been installed. The decorator is coming Thursday and expects to be done for Monday followed by carpet fitter Tuesday or Wednesday which then means we can start to install all the Featured Fireplaces we have decided on. The solid fuel option we really wanted has been abolished due to “fire risk†problems it really is just too much trouble to convince the people in charge that it’s a good idea.
Anyway enough of the moaning all the sales brochures, stone sample displays and posters have been ordered and the large display photos we have in our workshop area are being moved to the Showroom area to create an impressive focal point.
This little project seems to have consumed so much of my working days we have come to a slight stall in listing all our new Fireplace products we have photographed and new items we haven’t even listed so please bear with me on this I will be updating our Website very shortly with all the new products so keep your eye out for all these new items.
After a mad week delivering all over the country from Saltash in Cornwall to Kilmarnock in Scotland we have now cleared the backlog of orders that had built up whilst we were away on holiday so you can rest assured when you order from Cast Fireplaces it arrives in quick time and is delivered on time every time.
Thanks again to all the customers some of whom got up early so we could complete all our deliveries over the past 12 Days it seems we have done nothing since returning from holidays except load our two vans with fireplaces that have been going in all different directions at some really early hours to deliver these products to there new homes.
Great Customer Service leads to New Fireplace Order
Sunday, July 12th, 2009Here at Cast Fireplaces we do give all our orders the same level of service whether you are ordering a tube of grate polish for £5.95 or a Henley and Ripley Limestone Package for £665. This reason I am writing this is because today (yes we do work Sundays) we have had a previous customer ring and order a Limestone Gas Package from us because they had ordered a simple tube of grate polish in the past and were impressed by our quick service and helpful manner when asked questions about how to apply the black lead. This they said was the reason they again ordered from us again as they said didn’t even look anywhere else online, as they knew we would offer the best service.

Saturday, July 11th, 2009Today we have received a letter from one of our Fireplace customers thanking us for such a wonderful service from order to delivery. I remember the couple well as I delivered the fireplace myself and had a cup of tea and a piece of Chocolate cake that Mrs Goodwood had just made when I arrived (mmm how’s that for timing) after lifting fireplace up two flights of stairs as it was a bedroom fireplace and we do deliver to any room in the house of your choice.
It is quite unusual to get thank you letters these days they all seem to come by email or by a phone call so it was really nice to open letter thanking us for our service
