Hello I was going to do our last article today on fire baskets but we have some even better news.
We have a new addition to our family I was awoken this morning at 4am by phone ringing and I thought no not again not somebody ringing to collect a Stove again.
However on the other end of the phone was Stuart (our delivery driver) telling Rhian that her sister Thea has given birth to Georgie Mave a 7lb 15oz baby girl.
My wife is over the moon with this news and has been to hospital today to visit today I am going to their house after one hell of a long day delivering fireplaces being the nicest boss on the earth (my words not anyone else) Stu is taking this week off so I have rearranged all the deliveries today onto one van instead of two and now have 12 drops to do around The south I am out of the house at 4.30am and not due back till 6pm but they will all be delivered and nobody will not get their fireplace (I feel like Santa Claus) so if I do see you tomorrow or at my factory Monday afternoon after I have been to Ipswich in the morning with a van full for a developer if I look tired you will know why.
Well its all in a good hard days work at Castfireplaces even in times of turmoil and being short staffed we get the job done with no fuss

Friday, October 9th, 2009This months modern fireplaces section has seen a large increase in the amount of Jura-Stone mantels we have sold with electric fires it is a section we have big plans for and to make it easier to navigate are introducing new categories and buying options.
Anyway that’s enough of our future plans the winner this month is the Granite Panel and Longford Package
This package has been sold in the Cotswold Jura-stone finish that is uniform in colour and is a very much like a white stone.
We sell this surround with a lot of our arched inserts too and they have gone really well this month with the Jubilee arched insert it must be because of the price as it looks like natural stone at a fraction of the price.
When you fit the Longford mantel with the granite panel it really makes them both stand out the contrast from the black granite and the white surround is really striking and to top it all off when fitted with an electric or gas insert with a silver trim and set of bars just finishes this great fireplace set and makes a really modern fireplace feature for any room.
Both electric and gas packages have been sold this month and we are even going to introduce a solid fuel version for this fantastic fireplace set so you will be able to order a modern fireplace for use with the old fashioned fuel how versatile is that

Jubilee and Oak Stourhead is Septembers Featured Wooden Fireplace
Tuesday, October 6th, 2009I am over the moon about this months Wooden Fireplace featured item it’s the second best selling surround after the Lytton and Pine Bedford it was only 1 sale short of drawing and its our very own exclusive Jubilee and Oak Stourhead
This Fireplaces surround is made from 100% solid oak and finished with oil to give it a lovely finish a lot of other companies spray or wax there oak surrounds as its cheaper here at Cast Fireplaces we finish ours with Liberon Finishing oil to create the smooth natural finish we achieve on the Surrounds.
This months sales have been helped to become a very close second due to 2 orders of two identical fireplace sets that were going in two new build houses in Barton Under Needwood. This particular developer has been to our showroom and his wife who decides on all the interiors (as most women do) saw them and immediately told him that is what she wanted.
I do agree they make a great fireplace set and the jubilee highlighted insert seems to work well with them. At our showroom we have it on display with the Henley Highlighted insert that I think looks even better but that’s my choice.

Coronet and Palmerston is Septembers best selling Cast Iron Fireplace
Monday, October 5th, 2009So the next Category we feature is the best selling Cast iron Fireplace of the month this month it is a draw between the Black Pembroke and the Full Polished Pembroke both of which we have featured before so we are going to feature the third best seller which is the Coronet and Palmerston I really like this package and its perfect for fireplaces that need to be larger than a standard cast iron combination fireplace to make more of a feature.
The Palmerston 48” in Full Polish finish looks at home best with a smaller arch such as the coronet and the feature of the matt black insert with the Full polish of the surround really sets it off.
We have sold both solid fuel and gas versions of this package this month and this package is featured on display in our showroom and we have sold two from this display when customers had originally come to view an alternative fireplace.

Whats the Best Selling Limestone Fireplace Package
Sunday, October 4th, 2009So we start the featured Fireplace best sellers for September and the 1st one as usual is the best selling Limestone Package and it is the Coronet and Brompton this package looks fantastic in the 51” version and is ideal for smaller chimneybreasts or where space is restricted.
Also very popular this month was the Coronet and Henlow, which is even smaller at 48” which again suits the smaller chimneybreast.
All the Coronet and Brompton packages were sold for gas use with the Half Polish coronet insert which is strange not to have even sold one solid fuel option.
I have even checked the item on our website today to make sure it was still available as an option and I hadn’t deleted it whilst updating our website.
The Agean Limestone Brompton surround is normally our best selling limestone surround so its no surprise to feature this item but the Coronet has done well to dislodge the Jubilee or Henley arched fireplaces.
As I said earlier it must be due to the smaller size chimneys our customers are fitting fireplaces too.

Alterations to our Fireplace Website this Weekend
Friday, October 2nd, 2009I have completely forgotten about listing our best selling items for the month of September sorry about that we have just been so busy this week.
Our website may be down for a few hours this weekend as we start to implement a few of our changes to the website.
I hope you should not notice anything changing yet its all behind the scenes work including content system to make our site do what we want it do this I am told will sort out our slow loading articles section. (Hooray can’t wait to add photos of all our new products).
So Monday I will start featuring all the items again for you all to see what has been selling best.
It has been another day for collecting and delivering stoves and we have delivered locally within 20 miles of our factory 5 Stoves and had a further three collected so I am calling today Stove Friday.
I’m glad about that load of stock going out and when we have loaded the vans later for this weekends delivery to London we will again have a little breathing space it is no wonder im losing weight I need to be able to squeeze through the none existent gaps that are now packed with Stoves and Fireplaces when moving around the Factory.
I am off again tomorrow to Watch Forest at Peterborough may even deliver a few Stoves in Kings Lynn while I am that way that need to go next week I’m sure my mates wouldn’t mind (they would kill me ruining drinking time) and we are going on a coach too so that not possible, it did cross my mind to drive though.
So keep your eye out next week for new featured items and it will not be long now till our new update goes live with improved search and improved options to purchase we are really excited about all the things we have planned.
Where are all these Fireplaces and Stoves going to Fit
Thursday, October 1st, 2009Yet more Multi fuel stoves have arrived yesterday (Wednesday) and we have had more arrive on Tuesday this week, stock seems to be coming and going at an alarming rate not that I am complaining. Our Factory is groaning at the seams and 1700 sq ft is a lot to fill with fireplaces we even have more items in stock now than some of our suppliers during this busy time of year.
We continue to keep our supply times to within ten days as we have increased all our fireplace stocks to keep up with demand.
Timber mantels have been arriving from the workshop daily in vanloads and we are now well ahead on manufacture time to keep our stocks high.
This also is coupled with two new oak design timber fireplaces that will be going on our website as soon as I can get some time to add them.
They look absolutely fantastic and are sure to big sellers over the next few months and we will be listing them as packages and on there own to buy too so please keep checking back.
As with all our Timber Surrounds we can manufacture to any size to suit your requirements.
Stu who does a lot of our fireplace deliveries is also very good at website design and pc admin work and is doing work now on our website alongside our design company to get this update ready for going live wait till you see what we have done it works great and we are just ironing out the small creases for it to go live as most items are being listed manually its very time consuming but it will not happen again I am assured.
Anyway that’s the boring bit out the way still no sign of the new arrival in our family (Stuart and Theas 1st Baby) so I am on long distance deliveries again today in Devon and The South West so Rhian is in charge of office and all orders I’m just the delivery man but that’s the most important part of our job and I love meeting our customers so if you do get me on your delivery do not tempt with tea biscuits or cakes as I may stop for ages chatting plus I’m on a diet too must keep up the hard work.
