Modern Fireplace Suites Materials Explained

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

This is a quick guide to the materials we use in the manufacture of the modern Fireplace suites we sell from the Gallery Range

PORTUGUESE LIMESTONE
This is natural stone, cut straight from the earth. The stone is sedimentary limestone formed over 50 million years ago. The characteristic darker veins on the light background intermingled with fossils of plants and animal life all add to the beauty and individuality of this great material. To find ‘blooms’, lighter and darker veins, ’whisps’ of fossilized fern leaves and other unique features are not considered as defects but are part of the experience of owning a Portuguese Limestone suite. All the suites shown in this brochure can be purchased, made from PORTUGUESE LIMESTONE and come complete with matching hearth and three-piece back panel

MICROMARBLE MOCHA BEIGE – MARFIL & PERLA
An engineered stone, manufactured from crushed marble and specially developed resins, is used to make the suites shown in this brochure. The Clifton, The Durrington 42 and The Cranbourne are supplied with a three-piece back panel whilst the remainder can be supplied with single piece back panels. Each suite is sold with its matching hearth.

JURA-STONE COTSWOLD - CHILTERN – PERLA
Another natural product, marble, is used in the construction of these suites. JURA STONE is made from aesthetically unappealing sheets of solid marble and then coated with one of two great finishes. These finishes are the smooth Cotswold and the slightly textured Chiltern. Both finishes give a consistent appearance of stone. The Clifton, The Durrington 42 and The Cranbourne are supplied with a three-piece back panel whilst the remainder can be supplied with single piece or three-piece back panels. Each suite is sold with its matching hearth.

Derby Fireplace Back in Stock

Friday, January 29th, 2010

Today we have taken even more Fireplaces into stock and is sees the return of the Derby Fireplace back in to stock. Luckily this combiantion fireplace was on order as we have sold two in the last week and were just waiting on them coming into stock.
Ido like this fireplace hence why we keep it in stock as it is a gallery fireplace but they withdrew it from there range a few years ago but we decided to continue to sell it as it has sold very well and there was nothing in the Gallery range to comapare it too.
We also still kepp in stock the paris and the daisy combination fireplaces even though they have dropped from the 2010 brochure and again they are nice designs that sell well so im not sure why they have dissapeared from the range with out an alternative taking its place.
Im not moaning though it just means very few firms will be able to offer these fireplaces and so we will have more orders for them which is always a good thing for us.
Funnily enough writing this post a customer of ours who had a pembroke last week has just rung asking if they can collect a Daisy Highlighted Fireplace next week that is really strange right im off to but a bet on Forest beating Derby on Saturday see if that comes in as well

Fireplace Fitters Who to get to Fit Yours

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

The old saga of who can fit my fireplace has come to our attention again today with a customer of ours asking if his builder can fit it and then apply for Building inspector to pass it off.
This can be done but is an expensive way of going round it because i think they charge around £175 to come and inspect and sign it off.
This is ok for solid fuel use but never let anyone touch a gas fireplace unless they are Gas Safe Registered.
We really can not stress the importance of having your new fireplace or stove installed by a proffesional please always use a HETAS Registered fitter for solid fuel fireplaces and a GAS SAFE Registered fitter for gas use.
Dont forget to ask if they do fit fireplaces not just boilers etc as it is better to have a proper fireplace fitter, if you cant find anyone let us know we do have various fitters in a lot of areas and can often supply you there details regarding fitting our fireplaces.
We do understand alot of our customers do fit the fires themselves and although we do not recommend it we are here to give general assembly advice we do not however advise on fitting except to your fitters or any qualified person.
So if in doubt get a proper fitter with the relevant insurance and qualifications to do a proper job then sit back and enjoy your fireplace or stove knowing it has been installed correctly

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

Hello what a busy little day we have had, we normally have deliveries on Wednesday and today has been no different we are pleased to say all items are now back in stock even though some mainly the Pembrokes are still low until next week.

These items we had run out of so it is great to have them back in stock in time for our Norfolk and Norwich Run tomorrow and our North West Run on Friday.
As normal our fantastic suplliers got it right telling me when they were coming into stock so we can take forward orders and arrange delivery dates to suit.
Im sure sometimes they must get fed up of me asking when and how many are arriving but i know they understand how difficult it is to arrange deliveries and sort out orders so a Big thanks again for getting it Right it makes my job easier.
On top of this we had our normal weekly delivery of Hearths and cast fireplaces we dont keep in stock along with some gas inserts a few tiles, solid fuel kits and all other ordered items.
This afternoon was mainly taking up by stacking it all away and back in time to meet Bank Manager to sort out finances for buying our Factory which im pleased to say has all gone well.

Prince and Brompton Limestone

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

So this post will be the first featured fireplace on our new website
The Prince And Brompton Limestone Fireplace package is available to buy from us in two finishes and two sizes and with our options of tiles and various hearths and fuel options gives you a choice of 1104 options
Of couse you do not have to go through every one our new clever site does all the hard work for you you just simply choose what you want.
Funnily enough a customer has ordered this exact same package in 51″ size with Black insert for solid fuel with Jazz Burgundy tiles.
This simple designed fireplace is ideal for customers who require a tiled insert but are short on opening width and only have small chimney breast to fill.
With sizes starting at 51″ it really is a compact fireplace that is perfect in proportion when using 51″ or 54″ mantel so nothing is lost on the looks to fit a smaller size.
It does come with solid fuel option although it does not have the largest are for burning solid fuel will still take a reasonable sized log and if burning coal it can be stacked up high no problem.
So if you wish to have a further look at our 1st proper featured fireplace then click on the photo to take you straight through to the item and when you can look forward to seeing this post on the left hand side of our new website

Featured Item for New Fireplace Website

Monday, January 25th, 2010

On the front page of our new fireplace website we have a new featured product item which changes every week so customers can at a glance learn a lot of information about that particular weeks featured fireplace.
We may even discount it even further as a bargain to all our customers who visit our website and read through the site.
We have had a load of voucher codes organised for our website launch and will be offering a big promotion price crash to announce the new arrival (at long last) of what started out as an update then turned into a full site rebuild.
It really has been hard work getting it right and our web designer has put lots of effort into geting what i want after various templates were just not right.
Its a fine balance between it working simply but offering everything you need and want it to do but im 100% sure we have it right.
We are still awaiting WorldPay transaction testing to go live thats all that needs doing and a huge amount of Blog and article transfers but that wont take to long.
We will be having an article about features of the wenbsite and tomoorow i will add the first featured fireplace to our articles section for it to be ready to go live.
Really cant wait im so excited

Fireplace Stock Update on the Gallery Range

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

Good news at last we have things moving again this week there is loads arriving from our fantastic Fireplace suppliers and we should be reasonably stocked and dont expect to be short of anything this week or till our main orders arrive over the next few weeks
This week i am told we have some Black and Full Polished Pembrokes (Our best selling Combination Fireplaces) arriving along with another load of solid fuel kits and even better news a batch of Lytton Highlighted inserts. Our Jubilees arrived last week so we can now relax again and offer accurate delivery times on these items now they are back in stock.
Wait for it the best News our good friend The Firefox 5 is now back in stock and we do have loads arriving next week which will see us back up to full stock and we did get more this week than we expected so we do have enough spare stoves to last this week till main delivery arrives.
Im so relieved all these items are back in stock so we can again resume our normal quick straight from stock collection and delivery service without having to label them in order of purchase to make sure customers get what they ordered in numerical order on a first come first served basis.
When we are fully stocked we never need to do this and just book them out with out worrying but over the past few weeks some fireplaces and stoves have been drip fed through just to keep the orders flowing.
So order away on our website knowing that when placed your new fireplace or stove will be delivered in the fastest time possible and thanks again for all your patience

Slight Delay in Email answering Fireplace Questions

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

Hi there sorry for the delay in answering Fireplace emails today (Saturday) i was out shooting till 5 pm ( Last Day of our Season not too good a day) and had renewed our Norton Anti Virus at Work on all our laptops and main pcs which meant it had upgraded in the morning and i forgot to import address book and lower our spam filter settings which meant most of our emails went to Spam Filter
When i spoke to Rhian at Lunchtime she said the phone had not stopped ringing but there had been only 1 email which is very odd for a weekend.
Anyway when i got home i quickly realised what i had done and emptied Spam folder and there they all were so i quickly answered all those with little apology and explanation as to why we were so late answering as we really do try to answer the all within two hours if not straight away.
Rhian had collected a nice little pile of Fireplace and Stove Orders and i was then driven to the Factory to meet some customers from Ramsay St Marys at 6pm at our Showroom
Mr and Mrs Hewlett again did not make it past our show piece surround the Oak Stourhead as they liked it straight away and both said thats the surround now we just need to choose the insert and after finding out they wanted a sollid fuel fireplace with a large burning area they opted for the Jubilee and Oak Stourhead Fireplace Package with extra deep back and solid fuel kit which makes it a good size for burning solid fuel.
This Back is only available with the Pembroke, Jubilee and the Henley so they were more than happy with the chosen fire and left saying they were glad they made the effort to come and see us and after seeing it in the flesh realised they had printed off the same option from our website with realising it just goes to show our pictures must give a good impression of the fireplace  so have a look at the photo and see what you think
