Not only did you offer the most competitive price on my stove it was one of the best online buying experiences. It didn’t feel like i was just another online transaction you were extremely helpful and offered a very friendly services. What was amazing is that the stove arrive exactly when you said it would 8am Sunday morning that is almost unheard of. Slight Delay in Email answering Fireplace Questions

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

Hi there sorry for the delay in answering Fireplace emails today (Saturday) i was out shooting till 5 pm ( Last Day of our Season not too good a day) and had renewed our Norton Anti Virus at Work on all our laptops and main pcs which meant it had upgraded in the morning and i forgot to import address book and lower our spam filter settings which meant most of our emails went to Spam Filter
When i spoke to Rhian at Lunchtime she said the phone had not stopped ringing but there had been only 1 email which is very odd for a weekend.
Anyway when i got home i quickly realised what i had done and emptied Spam folder and there they all were so i quickly answered all those with little apology and explanation as to why we were so late answering as we really do try to answer the all within two hours if not straight away.
Rhian had collected a nice little pile of Fireplace and Stove Orders and i was then driven to the Factory to meet some customers from Ramsay St Marys at 6pm at our Showroom
Mr and Mrs Hewlett again did not make it past our show piece surround the Oak Stourhead as they liked it straight away and both said thats the surround now we just need to choose the insert and after finding out they wanted a sollid fuel fireplace with a large burning area they opted for the Jubilee and Oak Stourhead Fireplace Package with extra deep back and solid fuel kit which makes it a good size for burning solid fuel.
This Back is only available with the Pembroke, Jubilee and the Henley so they were more than happy with the chosen fire and left saying they were glad they made the effort to come and see us and after seeing it in the flesh realised they had printed off the same option from our website with realising it just goes to show our pictures must give a good impression of the fireplace  so have a look at the photo and see what you think

Finishing touches done on Cast Fireplaces Website

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

At long last it gives me great pleasure to tell you that our new updated Fireplace Website is ready we are just awaiting World Pay confirmation of live testing before we can make it live im really excited about this little project it seems to have taken over every spare bit of time i have had finishing and tweaking things till i have it just right.
By no means am i a perfectionist but when it comes to work matters i do like to be organized and have everything at hand and adopt a proffesional aspect to anything i do.
So with this explained i wasnt 100% happy with how our old site worked and we had reached the maximum we could do it for seo purposes so after 6 years it was time for a change.
The range and options we have on this update are so good it will make our site the easiest to use online and the products we have on now and intend to list over the next few weeks will make it one of the most comprehensive Fireplace websites online.
With our Price and Service and most of all our family business values we are sure there is not another fireplace website that comes close so watch this space next week for when it does go live and ill explain in detail how to use the website and choose options but overall it really is simple to use.
We have listened to customers who want to pay online and have now offered this service but we still will be contacting all our customers after there order to run through it with them and make sure your order is correct so none of our friendly helpful service will be lost.
So only the Weekend to go and then we should be seeing the new site in all its glory

Fireplace Article provokes a few thoughts from Trade and Customers

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Hello well after yesterdays blog about us selling Fireplaces too cheap we have had a laugh about it here at Work and also with a customer who had read the article and even the Boss at our suppliers emailed me saying he had read it and to finish off a phonecall from our rep too.
So me writing my thoughts had stirred up a bit of thought in the trade and with our customers but at the end of the day who can tell us how to run our business, certainly not some idiot in a shop who is apparently not doing to well.
Anyway back to Business the solid fuel kit saga has come to and end with a delivery today which is enough to complete all this weeks orders for solid and leaves us with one left in stock, im told there are more arriving on container next week along with crates and crates of Cast Inserts and combinations we are desperate for.
My best friend has spent the day with me today after bunking off work and he even said how empty the factory was looking and where had all the casts gone from the crates they are stored in
God knows what he thinks i do with them apart from sell them yes there nice looking but you do not need 150 of them thats what our showroom is for to give customers ideas of what can be achieved.
So Friday we have another drip feed order of Firefox 5 Stoves of which we have 1 spare again if anyone need a stove there was 3 but i have sold two today god i hope they arrive i have 1 in stock and 4 need to be delivered on Sunday if not im going burgling fireplace showrooms Saturday evening.
I will keep everyone updated with whats going on stock wise but we do have No Pembrokes, No Lytton Highlighted, and only a handfull of other arches i fell like a man on the front line with only 1 spare magazine left.
MMmm thinking of Shooting last Pheasant shoot on Saturday before season finishes

What the difference buying a Fireplace from high street shop and online

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Had a Phonecall this evening from Fireplace retailer moaning about our prices and asking why we sell items too cheap of couse he didnt tell me who he was or where he was from the Coward

Ok in the fireplace trade and especially stove trade there is a debate about online retailers and High Street shops and how the internet is killing the fireplace shops and they cant compete with online prices etc etc.
Now i am a firm believer in free market and goods being sold to make profit as all good companies should do.
Now the high street shops have been moaning about various websites selling items to cheap and it not being a fair market.
There are a few online companies who have no Business premises and operate from home addresses and send items out direct from manufacturers and keep no stock or some as we have come across only take Cash.
I have no problem anyone complaining about these cowboys and think the manufacturers and companies that supply them have a duty to stop them trading as they do not have showrooms for customers to come and view items if they wish and offer no Back up service at all.
What i do NOT agree with is the High Street Fireplace Shops saying all internet traders should be stopped they are living in the past 8 years ago before the Internet took hold they moaned about the “Big Sheds” ie B and Q etc selling them to cheap simply they are just looking to pass the blame.
It seems to me that just because they try to work on really large margins and basically overcharge there customers they complain about some competitive pricing.
The shops say internet firms have no overheads or running costs (it may be true for Cowboy Home Seller) but here at Cast Fireplaces we do the following

1 We do have Factory and Showroom
2 We do pay Business Rates and Insurance and Gas and Electric
3 We do Pay VAT
4 We do Pay Tax and Ni
5 We do have 2 vans to run
6 We do have Staff to pay
So how is our comapany different in structure to a normal high street shop it IS THE SAME

Just because we choose to market our goods online and before you harp on about customer service we do offer the service to go with it so even the personal shopping feeling is obtained when buying from Cast Fireplaces so basically your argument is unfounded.

So Before you ring again have a think about your business and what you can do to make it run better without looking for someone else to blame for your own Failings and in the meantime us here at Cast Fireplaces will continue in what we do best selling great fireplaces at great prices with a personal service that can not be matched anywhere

We offer the Best Fireplace Delivery On or Offline

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

5.30 AM this morning i was on the Road from Ripley in Derbyshire to Pudsey in Leeds for one of our legendary early morning delivery calls with a Firefox 5 Stove for a Customer who had ordered the day before asking if we could deliver very quickly as he needs to get it fitted this week.
As luck would have it we were going to Bridlington, Hull, Saltfleet, Wragby and Nottingham today so i told him the only way we could do it would be 7 AM Delivery which suited him fine as he was off to work at 8 so i dueley arrived early at 6.50 and unloaded it and then dissapeared into the thick Fog on my way to Bridlington.
On the way there i was thinking to myself how unique our delivery service is with its early morning calls, 1 hour timed delivery slots, weekend delivery to London and the South just to mention a few of the main points.
We do put a huge amount of effort into our delivery service making it the best to be found anywhere with all our products no matter how big taken into your home (not dumped outside or doorstep delivery) it really is unusual to find this level of service.
This i am sure is one of the main reasons and of course our prices is why many people order with Cast Fireplaces i can not think of any other company on or offline who comes anywhere near our service.
Yes it plays havoc with all our home lives especially the Sunday run which is not nice week in week out when others are out enjoying themselves on Saturdays but thats the service we have chosen to offer and we intend to continue with it.
So if you want to order a fireplace or Stove from a online company who offers better than High Street Service look no further than us here at Cast fireplaces

How can i control my Gallery Fireplaces Tiger Stove

Monday, January 18th, 2010

How do you control the Stove It just seems to be roaring away and even when i reduce air into the stove it still roars is there anything you can suggest.
This is an unusual question as based on our experaince Tiger Stoves can be controlled very well.
I made enquires as to who had fitted his stove how old it was and did he have an invoice number from us.
It turned out he had bought it from a shop near Buxton who now do not want to know or help him with a solution to this problem and he fitted it himself.
Well its not really our problem but after finding out chimney had not been lined as he didnt want the extra expense it sounds to me like his fireplace chimney breast has one hell of a drawer on it as the stove is nearly new and the seals around the door are fine.
The only solution we can offer is a damper pipe which is a small pipe 250mm in length which has an adjustable damper inline which can be altered to reduce the draw from the chimney.
The original stove pipe does have to be removed and then this item placed inline but it is a solution to his problem and he has gone away to think about ordering one.
So the moral of the story is when ordering a stove or Fireplace from someone please make sure they have the background knowledge or experiance to sort out any small problems you may have as our friend found out some companies do not want to know after you have bought items from them.

Fireplace Tile Broken by Fitter Can You Help

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

Well once again we have had a customer ring saying the fitter has broken a tile whilst fitting them in to the sides of the Tiled Fireplaces we offer in our showroom and on our website.
We always explain to customers how the tiles are to be fitted and exactly what the bolts and wing nut washers are for and even with this it is still our most asked fitting question.
Well as Mrs Greaves fitter found out if you over tighten the top or bottom wingnut (finger tight only) it cracks the tile every time.
Basically they are porcelain being tightened onto cast iron so the tiles is going to break if to much force is used.
Anyway once its broken there is nothing that can be done except purchase a new set. Luckily for Mrs Greaves we did have a spare tile from this set of Warwick Empress Red it happens i dropped this set of tiles whilst loading the van one day and broke three of them which makes them useless to anyone.
5 of them are nowing hanging in our showrrom as a tile sample which left 2 in the box and as they are a repetitive pattern one has now been wrapped and will be sent 1st Class Monday.
Please bear in mind we do not always have spares and most people have to buy new set at £80 which is quite an expensive error so please take care when fitting your tiles
