A simple questions was asked today on Bank Holiday monday and yes we are open as to whether a customer can use the Jubilee arched insert with the Brompton Limestone mantel on a flat wall and have the Electric insert thats goes with it.
I was sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the jubilee fireplace requires the wall to have a chamber recess of 6.5″.
This is to accomodate the cast iron back that comes with this fireplace, there is no way round it really, i did suggest building false chimney breast to house the back and she has gone to see her builder to see what can be done.
I know a lot of our customers do like the more tradtional fireplace design but theres not much choice of fuel options for a flat wall as i have said already the cast back does ne to be recessed into the fireplace chamber.
In our Modern Fireplaces section we do have quite a few fireplaces that can be used on flat wall situations and then have an electric fire to suit.
I appreciate the fact it does detract from a more Victorian fireplace look but for people not wishing to construct false chimney breasts it can certainly offer a focal fireplace for your room without the need for building work.
I Know JIG once did a combianation fireplace with electric insert built in to it but to be honest it looked terrible.
So for once we have not been able to offer much of a solution except for the false chimney breast idea so she has gone off to ponder her options, i have this sneaky feeling she will be back as she seems to have set her heart on the Jubilee Brompton Limestone Package

Fireplace Fitter advises his customers to order from Castfireplaces
Sunday, May 30th, 2010One of the fireplace fitters we use very regularly in all of the london and surrounding counties i have finally met today.
We have spoken for hours on the phone and i have seen numerous jobs he has done for our customers and have had many orders too from his customers.
So many of his customers come to us now as he says “Let me know when Marks Company is delivering your fireplace and i will come to fit later that week”
He is so confident we deliver ontime and all in one piece he has no hesitation recommending Castfireplaces to all his customers and advises his customers to order from us.
It really places a lot of trust in us and our service because it is his reputation on the line too if we do not come up to scratch.
Thats something we never have to worry about because we know honestly we are the best in what we do and always deliver ontime everytime.
So im very pleased he places so much trust in us and our company and im glad ive finally met him and put a face to the voice.
The house we delivered to this morning was two Semi Detached houses in Wimbledon SW19 which are on the market for £1.8 Million each and now have our fireplaces being installed into them today what more of an endorsement can you get.
So from the most proffesional fireplace retailers our thanks go to Tony as we can honestly say he is a true fireplace proffesional installer and also we have no hesitation in him fitting any fireplace we supply to our customers he really knows what he is doing.
Bank Holiday Weekend Again Castfireplaces is Open
Saturday, May 29th, 2010Another month is again nearly finished and its June next week which brings us to another Bank Holiday.
We are again open this weekend on the phone lines and emails but the showroom is closed until Tuesday.
I am out delivering with Stuart this sunday around London and Oxford delivering our fireplaces and stoves here there and everywhere as is Stu.
I will be answering all calls and emails and processing orders placed over the phone and also by our website, but we do not have any showroom veiwings until Tuesday im afraid as we do like to have a little time off with the Family.
So really we should start getting into Sunny Weather soon which normally means things go a little quiter and give us a chance to catch up and finish so many plans we have for our website.
At the moment we just have not had any spare time to do anything im not moaning at all i never moan when we are busy we must be doing something right.
So fingers crossed we will have some new things and features to tell you about very soon along with all the new items we have arriving its going to be a very busy summer getting everything ready for the next “Heating Season”.
Alreay we have deliveries of mantels and cast iron fireplaces ordered ready for the start of Winter it feels really strange saying that on a gorgeous summers day but we do have to plan ahead.
My Dad lives in Eastwood can he collect Pembroke Fireplace
Friday, May 28th, 2010A quick nice easy thing to sort out i had a phonecall from a Mrs Crombleholme in Preston as to if they bought a Pembroke Full Polish gas package from us whether her dad could collect it from us as he only lives in Eastwood and as they have just moved into their house they are looking at saving as much money as possible in renovation and he is going to Preston this weekend.
Anyway along came Dad and collected it this morning after Rhian had processed order yesterday afternoon.
He duely arrived this morning at 10am as he said he would which was then loaded onto the back seats of his 4×4.
Off he went invoice in hand after me explaining basic fitting instructions as he is going to fit it and have gas connected by the Gas Safe man whilst he alters some other things at their house.
So really this little article is about collections thats why we charge seperate for delivery as people collecting can save even more money and our delivery prices working on the basis of the further you are away from us the more expensive it is to have it delivered.
Our system works and is fair so anyone wanting to save money on a new fireplace and stove you can collect from us and save yourself between £15 and £98 particularly if Dad is coming your way anyway.
Bliss Fireplace range of Solid Fuel Spares
Thursday, May 27th, 2010The Bliss range of solid fuel spares is to be added to our ever growing fireplaces website and we have these to be added as soon as we can get round to it.
The Bliss range offers a good selection of spare ashpans and grates and includes grates for popular models from Parkray and Baxi.
If you have bought replacement solid fuel spares before from your local fireplace shop you will know how much they charge, they are now available for us to offer you huge savings on all these items.
Also available are clay backs in 16″ and 18″ sizes complete with the throat lintels to match if needed, we can also offer a range of coal saver bricks to reduce the burning size area of most fireplaces and these are available in sets from 8″ to 11″.
A few new frets will also be for sale and a lattice all night burner for 16″ and 18″ fire openings.
To complete the range we will also be listing the Skamolex fireproof chamber boards we use in many of our Stoves and firebasket suites so our customers can now buy them direct from us, also we do skamolex bricks that can be used for the same thing.
There are a few other additions to our fires section and these mainly are gas fire ceramics such as pebbles, driftwood, logs, charcoal etc so keep visiting our fireplace website to see our ever growing range and pick up one of our solid fuel spares bargains
Website Changes and Updates to Cast Fireplaces
Wednesday, May 26th, 2010As some of you may have noticed our Fireplaces website was behaving a little erratic yesterday this was due to us updating a few things in order ready to add our tile selection section and a few other tweaks we have done to our online shopping and in particular our new shopping cart system.
All will become clear very soon when we intend to roll out the new system which i thinks improves the way our website runs and speeds up the loading of each page and also the checkout process is easier too.
We have had this on test for a few months now and it has been ready to go for a while but to be honest i have not had time to impliment it.
So if you are looking for a new Fireplace with tiles as an option im sure you will appreciate being able to see the tiles by picture instead of just a list of names which will save you time cross checking them and opening up new windows comparing them.
I know it is going to improve the online shopping making it easier to choose and easier to add them to the basket so ease of use is our main concern.
Customer feedback is very importnat for us here at Castfireplaces and we do listen and do try to do things to make it easy for you to shop with us here and dont forget you can always send us an email or even pick the phone up and ring us we are not just a faceless online oredring system we do have real people here to talk too for any advice or help you need.
On the updates i will tell you more when its gone live so you can all see how it works.
Derby Fireplace to be retired from our range
Tuesday, May 25th, 2010A little bit of sad news as one of our old time favorite fireplaces is to be retired from the gallery range of fireplaces and stoves we offer.
We have sold the Derby Fireplace since its introduction into the Gallery range and the first year it was launched it won the Best Fireplace award at the Harrogate show.
It was originally sold in Both a Full Polished and Matt Black finish which was later changed to Black Leaded and the Full polished version dropped.
It has been a steady seller over the years in Black Lead since it was discontinued by gallery from the purple brochure and now it has come to the end.
We do have one left in stock at the price of £350 which is a real bargain as the price has shot up so much recently they would have needed to be sold at around £450 which is expensive when compared to our Pembroke Fireplace.
So Mr Derby Fireplace (or dirty derby as we know it being Forest fans) the time has come to bid you farewell it must be over 10 years this fireplace has been sold by me even when i was at Derwentside, funnily enough i enquired whether another one of my old favorites the Primrose was still available and as to how much they would be as i think we need to replace a cast of this size but retailing it at over £450 is just to much.
So anybody requiring the last Derby Fireplace available its here waiting in our showroom to find a new home and if your reading this article just click Derby Fireplace to view it.
