A strange thing today was when a customer arrived at our fireplace workshop in Langley Mill in his van which is not that unusual until he jumped out and then came into factory enquiring about gas inserts whether we had them in stock to fit an arched fireplace.
I asked him which arched insert he had and he replied i dont know i bought it from ebay and its in the back of the van.
Expecting to see something which is the normal ebay cheap crap and something we do not do gas inserts for there in the back of his van was a Jig or Carron as they are now known Ce-Lux Fireplace.
The Celux is not a bad cast its one we do supply but i dont think its anywhere near the quality of the gallery fireplaces we sell but each to there own.
He was in a rush to get gas insert fitted so a quick call to JIG to find out if they do a Class 2g as insert as he has 5″ liner installed.
All ordered 5 minutes later this is arriving to us on Tuesday for him to come and collect.
So it was a little strange someone bringing a fireplace to us (its normally the other way round) but he now has got the gas insert he needs to complete the job.
A little word of warning when shopping on auction sites most items on there are seconds or copies you do really have to be very careful what you buy and who you it from theres a lot of dodgy sellers out there and you have no safeguard buying it from ebay they are not proper companies etc who offer warrantys etc.

Large Oak Corbel Surround Junes best Selling Wooden Fireplace
Monday, July 6th, 2009I said it would be a strange month for our best selling Fireplaces and the Wooden Packages category has thrown a really worthy winner our way it does get repetitive featuring the same Fireplace surrounds etc but this month its completely different I don’t think this mantel has been our best seller before anyway here it is the Lytton and Oak Large Corbel fireplace set for solid fuel takes this months award.
The Lytton is the best selling arched fireplace produced by the Gallery group and has been our best seller since I started selling fireplaces over eleven years ago this decorative arched fireplace can be used for gas solid fuel or electric use and looks great in the black or highlighted finish and is a classic styled Victorian arched fireplace.
When we feature this fireplace with the 100% solid Oak Large Corbel surround which is a work of art in its own right it creates a fireplace set that is fit to grace any room.
The Shelf width on this mantel is 55†so its quite big and is only available in this one size it features two ornate large corbels and has fluted legs and with the “hens teeth “ decorative beading around the top really looks great.
Take a peek at this month’s unusual winner and see of you would like to order one of these packages and with prices starting at £580 for the solid fuel package its an absolute bargain

Saturday, June 20th, 2009The best selection of Wooden Fireplace Packages is to be found on our website I have visited all other fireplace sites and I am 100% sure no body else offers a larger choice let alone offering the choice in finishes and size options. To top it all of we are the cheapest online too and offer the best service before and after your order. We currently offer over 70 different wooden packages offering tiled and arched inserts with a various array of timber surrounds in Oak, Pine and MDF. We offer all these packages in gas, electric and solid fuel options and also they are available in a variety of finishes with Black, Highlighted and Full Polish.
All the Fireplace packages we sell come complete with everything you need and you don’t need to buy any separate items if the fireplace has tiles there included in the package and also if it needs a granite push in that’s also included in the price unlike some other websites.

Whats in our Stone Fireplaces Section
Friday, June 19th, 2009Stone Fireplace Packages is the most visited section on our website, this particular category is where we sell all our Fireplace packages with limestone or Jura stone surrounds with an array or arched and tiled inserts. This section seems to have grown enormously and now most of the popular fireplaces we sell have been photographed with 1 or more of our limestone surrounds creating what we believe to be the best range online.
The Limestone we supply is all 100% solid Natural Agean Limestone and is a white uniform colour with a little veining you will find some fossils in the limestone and sometimes slight colour variation but that is the beauty of a natural product that’s millions of years old. Every mantel is unique and all products are matched when machining to avoid colour change as much as possible (we have never has one returned yet in over 5 Years).
The packages we sell have been reduced in price when comparing to buying individual items to offer the discount package rate we have not compromised on any quality to do this and are the same items if you ordered them on there own we just do not supply inferior products to achieve price.
Click on the link above to take you to the section that is full of arched and tiled fireplaces with the largest range of stone surrounds or visit our Showrooms (appointment only) to see what we have on display and feel the product
I am sure you will not find Stone Packages cheaper in any shop with what ever fuel option you choose so have a look at one of our best selling stone suites below and treat yourself to a new Stone Fireplace Package.
Arched Insert Fireplaces Category
Wednesday, June 17th, 2009One of our most visited sections on our website is the Arched Inserts category. This is where we sell all the arched inserts on there own without surrounds hearths etc so you can buy just the insert to fit in your existing surround. All the arched inserts are available in a choice of finishes from Black to Highlighted and Half Polished to Full Polished each item states what finish that particular fireplace comes in. Most of them are a standard 37†to 39†and will fit any normal sized surround opening. We do offer the crown half polish in 40†wide for the largest of surround openings.
All the arched inserts can be used for the following options
Solid Fuel – Just add the solid fuel kit as an extra this consists of Grate, Damper flap and ash pan
Gas – Just select it on extras section to add this gas fire to your order available for Class 1 and Class 2 Chimneys
Electric – Again available as an option so you can use the arched insert with an electric fireplace ideal for use where you have no working chimney or just prefer this option.
The arched Fireplaces we offer are all different in styles from the Plain Crown and Jubilee insert to the more Decorative Henley and Radley.
Some are better for solid fuel use such as the Tradition and the Henley / Jubilee (with the Extra Deep Back Option) as these have the largest area for burning solid fuel but most importantly just chose one that fits and one that you like if you need any help choosing a new fireplace just contact us.
Tradition Highlighted now in our fireplace gallery
Monday, June 15th, 2009Cast Fireplaces were contacted by Samantha Clark to help source a cast iron fireplace and granite hearth to fit an existing surround the customer already had.
After confirming what size the existing surround including opening dimensions was and whether it was for gas or solid fuel use, we always ask these questions so we can recommend something that will not only fit but can be used for the purpose intended. After all this was discussed they decided to go with the Tradition Arched Insert in the Highlighted finish complete with a solid fuel kit.
This fireplace is ideal for solid fuel use as you can see in the photo you can got a good sized log on it this was supplied and is now fitted in the customers hallway greeting everyone that visits and as Sam says†most of our visitors comment on how well it goes in the hallâ€
We are always willing to give free helpful advice on all the products we sell and can often suggest products that you might think wouldn’t fit or had not considered. We never lead customers into products you don’t think are right but our good sound advice is often taken and customers are always pleased with the finished result.
So take a look at the photo Sam kindly sent us for our gallery and see what we can do for you.

What is a solid fuel kit for a fireplace
Sunday, June 7th, 2009What is a solid fuel kit and why do I need it is a question we sometimes get asked at Castfireplaces and today I have been asked that so I have decided to explain fully what one is. When you buy an individual fireplace from our Fireplaces website you will be offered the choice of adding a solid fuel kit, gas insert or electric insert. You will need to choose one of these options as even for display use we recommend having a solid fuel kit as it makes the fireplace look more complete. Ok so what exactly is this item have a look at this two photographs

The one on the left shows a solid fuel kit for our arched fireplaces and the one on the right shows the solid fuel kit for our tiled fireplaces.
Both are very similar and contain the following items
Grate –This is the part of the fireplace that is either free standing or slots into the fireplace this is used to burn the fuel on and the slots in it are to allow the ashes to fall through (notice on the tiled one it also has a coal saver).
Ash pan – A simple shaped tray that is tapered to fit the fireplace and will collect all the ash that falls into it does need to be emptied to maintain airflow to the fireplace
Damper –This item is only used for our arched or combination typed fireplaces and is a flap that opens and closes when fire is not in use so heat doesn’t escape up the chimney.
That’s all there is to this simple solid fuel kit we do sell these items as spares for customers who require replacements just view our Accessories and Care Products
