So everybody has to send out a few things with various carriers and Castfireplaces are the same.
We never send out our fireplaces with pallets or carriers as you can guarantee it will arrive damage, if you dont beleive me google search some fireplace company reviews and see how many of there items arrived damaged.
This is the main reason we have our own deidcated delivery service for our fireplaces and stoves.
As for the care products like lithofin and black lead polish etc we use Royal Mail and also Home Delivery Network which to be honest are very good and we rarely get damaged items due to the amount of time spent bubble wrapping our items.
If you have ever recieved one of our parcels you will know what i mean it is a feat itself to get into it.
Anyway for the tragic story now one of our customers from Bedfordshire ordered a fireplace package along with a tiled hearth which was sent out on Sunday 12th whilst i was boozing in Benidorm.
He had rung on the Thursday before i went asking if he could have loose tiles instead of the made up hearth so his fitter could just tile the area instead of removing origianl fireplace hearth.
This was then left of the van and tiles ordered but they would not arrive from our suppliers until Weds which were than packaged by yours truly and sent 48 Hour Parcelforce.
He rang late friday to say they had somewhat arrived but 10 of them were broken!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aaah broken i said Castfireplaces dont do damages or so i thought well thats royal mail for you they must have dropped them or played football with them they were really well wrapped.
So more have been ordered and i collected them today so he can get on with the fitting job asap, as im sat writing this he is coming to collect them from Bedford so they can finish off in the morning.
Now this was unexpected of them and i look forward to meeting him and making him a cup of tea.
Even Royal Mail was not fast enough to send out replacements and as usual if you are going to break something its always something you do not have in stock.
So hopefully a happy ending to a tale of damage and im very grateful for him coming to collect them when really it was our fault (or Royalmail to more precise)

Adding a living flame cast iron fireplace to a room can really add that ‘wow’ factor you might have been looking for. But with so many different designs available, how can you be sure what fireplace will work well in the room?
The size of your chimney breast
Perhaps the first thing to consider when choosing a cast iron fireplace is the size of the room in which it is going to be installed. The fireplace will be installed in your chimney breast, so it’s best to check the dimensions of this before you make your choice. Chimney breast dimensions can differ from home to home, so it’s always worth checking this before you buy a fireplace which is too large for the space you have.
Tiles or no tiles
This is purely down to personal preference, but the tiles in the fire can work well with the décor in your home if you choose appropriately. It’s worth noting that fireplaces that have tiles are usually wider that those that do not.
The cast iron fireplace finish
Not all cast iron fireplaces are finished with a matt black effect. On some, the detail can be of a highly polished effect and on others the whole fire can polished to provide a striking high polish shiny finish.
With so many different beautiful designs to choose from, we hope that these tips will be able to narrow down your options.
If not just give us a call

A nice simple question asked by a customer at 4pm today as to whether we have the particular black arched insert in stock and to see if he could pop over and collect it.
So a nice end to the day was a call again to The Factory to meet the couple who had travelled form Leics, payment taken item was quickly loaded up after viewing it in our showroom just to be sure it was the one they wanted and they were on their way.
Very nice and easy they knew exactly what they wanted and found us by google search which we pay a small fortune for to appear on the first few pages for various fireplace phrases.
So its always nice to see our advertising working and even better to have a collection so if you are local to us or indeed wish to travel out to see us (theres plenty to visit our way) just give us a ring prior to your arrival and we can meet you at our Showroom and Factory and show the some of the best fireplaces in the UK and as you will see all of the items in our showroom we have in stock for you to take way so if you come in a large car or even a van like todays late evening customers you can save on the delivery charge too.

The Pembroke Black Fireplace package is this weeks featured item and this just happens to be our best selling cast iron package by far.
The Pembroke is available in Black as shown here and also a full polished finish which is availble on our website too.
So a little bit more about this fantastic fireplace, it has a 48″ shelf width and is a 41″ x 41″ square of cast iron. Its very simple in design but thats does not mean its a plain looking fireplace.
In my opinion it is the best looking fireplace in the gallery range and from our customers point of view they agree with me as it appears in our best sellers list on the right hand side of our front page.
For customer swith smaller chimney breasts it does have a smaller brother called the Celtic which has shelf width of 36″.
The Pembroke Black is ideal for solid fuel use and now availble with the Deeper back (extra £100) it creates an area big enough to throw on some large logs.
Most of the black ones we sell are for solid fuel use and with prices at £420 with a 48″ granite hearth to match its an absolute bargain which you would be mad to miss out on.
We do have plenty of these in stock so if you wish to buy this weeks featured fireplace product click on the picture link below to take you straight through to the item

There is nothing worse and a you get a real sinking feeling when you damage something whilst putting it together ive done it with an american fridge trying to squeeze it through a narrow doorway and i know how frustrating it is.
Well today we have had a customer ring us to see if they can buy a single fireplace tile for a 54″ x 18″ ebony black hearth they were fitting they went to get the spirit level to check all was level and crash it came down on one of the tiles knocoking a ten pence piece size whole out of it.
Luckily it is the front tiles with a single rolled edge on it so they could continue fitting the fireplace and surround so the day hasnt been wasted.
It is no problem to supply spare tiles so its now on its way by 24 hour parcelforce to Haverfordwest. The damaged one has been removed and the new one is supplied with some matching black grout so it will be an invisible repair once done.
Its not dififcult to do just use some tile adhesive to bond it to the clean area press into place and allow to dry then grout up using plastic spreader and remove all excess then wash down after that has dried too.
Sometimes the corner tiles do work loose in the wrapping too so most fireplace fitters are quite used to tacking these back on so dont despair if you do damage a tile there only £2.50 each so its not exactly going to break the bank.
It could have been alot worse it could have been a granite hearth but there alot tougher i know ive dropped the poker on mine at home and fearing the worst checked the hearth and there wasnt even a scatch.
So another happy relieved customer whose not going to get grief from his wife this evening as i bet the fireplace is fitted and in the morning the hearth will be as good as new.

Hello what a busy little day we have had, we normally have deliveries on Wednesday and today has been no different we are pleased to say all items are now back in stock even though some mainly the Pembrokes are still low until next week.
Today we have taken delivery of the following
Lytton Highlighted Arched Inserts
Pembroke Black Fireplaces
Pembroke Full Polish Fireplaces
These items we had run out of so it is great to have them back in stock in time for our Norfolk and Norwich Run tomorrow and our North West Run on Friday.
As normal our fantastic suplliers got it right telling me when they were coming into stock so we can take forward orders and arrange delivery dates to suit.
Im sure sometimes they must get fed up of me asking when and how many are arriving but i know they understand how difficult it is to arrange deliveries and sort out orders so a Big thanks again for getting it Right it makes my job easier.
On top of this we had our normal weekly delivery of Hearths and cast fireplaces we dont keep in stock along with some gas inserts a few tiles, solid fuel kits and all other ordered items.
This afternoon was mainly taking up by stacking it all away and back in time to meet Bank Manager to sort out finances for buying our Factory which im pleased to say has all gone well.
So Really looking forward to getting things moving and dont forget New Website goes Live Monday Worldpay has all been sorted today so next week we have new website online too.

Well back to work properly today and have been to the factory and met a few customers for collection and been in office all day planning routes for delivery and generally sorting things out and i can now say we are back up to Full Speed.
Over Christmas and New Year we did write a few articles but not much in the day to day things we write about as we were closed so there was not much to tell you.
Anyway in all the festive fun i forgot to do the Featured items which we normally do at the start of the month
This months featured cast iron fireplace is The Daisy Combination Fireplace this small bedroom fireplace had been discontinued by Gallery from the fireplace brochure but is still available to us directly on container so we will carry on selling this Bedroom size cast in both the Black and Highlighted Finish.
I has a shelf width of 30″ and is perfect for any small bedroom chimney breast i personally think gallery have dropped a clanger removing this from the range but im sure it will benefit us as many fireplace shops will not be able to supply it.
Also it will be held in price and will not be affected by any current price increase. We also offer it as one of our packages for gas, solid fuel,LPG and electric use so if you do want a working bedroom fireplace thats is great value look no further than the Daisy Fireplace

Happy Boxing day we are not at work today so please dont think im a saddo posting an article about fireplaces i am actually at my sisters with all my family having christmas boozy fun.
Anway heres todays article.
The celtic cast iron fireplace has been a firm favorite in the selling stakes for quite a few years and understandably so as it is a great looking fireplace and with prices starting at £250 for the cast iron on its own what better or cheaper way is there to make a feature out of your chimney breast.
The celtic comes in three finishes
Black A matt black finish we can be treated with black lead grate polish for amore traditional look
Highlighted This finish is where all the raised edges have been polished to give a highlighted appearance to all the decorative features
Full Polished Our most popular choice the polishing on all gallery fireplaces is secondary to none in the trade and this offers amodern look to a traditiopanl fireplace.
As with all the fireplaces we sell the Celtic Cast Iron Fireplace Package is available as a package complete with choice of hearth for our normal option of solid fuel (Real Fire) Gas and Electric use and on our new website it alos comes with the option of an LPG gas insert for our customers running on bottled gas.
Anyway have alook at the photo of the full polished version below and click on it to see the item

Welcome to one of the brand new items from the Gallery collection purple brochure from 2009 -2010 this brochure has only been out a few weeks now and features quite a few new fireplaces.
The first one we have decided to feature may look very familiar to you as it is based on the very popular Barcelona Fireplace.
It has been slighty widened and this particular fascia has a shelf width of 38″
It is available in Black or Full polished and the real change comes when you look at the fire opening it has been designed to accept a standard gas, electric or Convector fire with an opening of 16″ wide and 22″ high which makes it useable with nearly every standard fire on the market which can open up a huge amount of options available to you with this fascia fireplace.
In the new brochures it is shown in a Full polished finish with the Glass fronted High Effiency Convector fire and in the Black version is shown with the same H/E fire with the Lunar Highlighted fire frame.
These frames are a new idea so the effeicient fire can now have 6 different looks to it and available in a colour and design to suit most decor.
So have a look at the photos below and see what you think of one of the new offerings from the gallery fireplace range.
