Space sorted for Fireplaces arriving into stock

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

As i said last week we have a huge amount of Cast iron fireplaces arriving to us next week and to be honest just in time too as we are out of Pembroke Black Fireplace and only have a few of the other items we stock left.
After such a busy week my job has been made easier in moving things around as alot of the crates we keep this items in are nearly empty which means we can remove them and replace crates with full ones and then just recrate all the oddments together.
So space will be made in the morning for the deliveries arriving Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week.
Im sure John from our suppliers will be sick of the Journey to Langley Mill by the end of the week, but i know he does appreciate our forklift and the amount of work we now do not have to do as anyone in the fireplace trade knows cast iron fireplaces are very heavy items.
We are also expecting a delivery of Jura stone mantels we have on order and i know Daz is busy this week making Oak Lincolns and Bedfords again just in time to replenish stocks to ensure our quick delivery service is kept up and running.
Right off to Stuarts to drop off a late order ive added to his van for a customer tomorrow (sunday) so they now have a stove to go with there Limestone Package and still will only pay 1 delivery charge saving them both money and time.
Thats why we keep so much in stock it makes us better than the rest

Daisy Highlighted Fireplace is it from B and Q

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

We sell a small combination fireplace on our website called the Daisy which is available in Black or a Highlighted Finish.
It is made by Gallery but has been dropped from the 2010 brochure but is still available to us as and we will continue to stock it.
Today i have had a phonecall from a lady in Redcar enquiring whether we had the Daisy in stock as she had ordered one from B and Q in January but they telephoned her today telling her they are not in stock till May along with their small cast iron hearth.
Now May in my mind is a long way off seeing as we have only just started March that leadtime is wrong.
I find it really strange how a huge company like B and Q can run out of such items and what are there re ordering levels like to be without an item from January to May.
The Fireplace they supply is not the Daisy Fireplace and we are not short on stock of them so we have yet another order in the bag and the item on its way to Redcar next week again down to yet another comapny who can not supply goods in time for the customers needs.
Also today we have had someone order a fireplace from Shropshire and drive to Nottingham to collect it as the one he bought from ebay was missing parts and was not as described.
Beware of cheap items on any auction sites there always cheap for the wrong reasons

Can you get me a Black Palmerston Mantel

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

Early this evening at 6.30 pm we had a call from a Mr C in Herefordshire asking if we have a 54″ Black Palmerston cast iron surround in stock and when is the earliest we can deliver.
This is not a stock item for us as they weigh a ton and are quite fragile being a full cast iron surround so we order them in when ordered from our website.
As our suppliers close at 5pm i can not find out until the morning if we can get one in time for next Fridays Devon, Gloucs and South West run, after enquiring with him whether he was in a rush he told me he had ordered one form another company at the Start of December and they still had not delivered it.
I told him it would have come from China quicker than that and he laughed and i now we have had some of them in the last few weeks and are not aware as to if they are short in supply or out of stock.
If i were the said D***** Fireplace company i would be ashamed of myself not being able to turn around an item within nearly 12 weeks its disgusting service and the type of cowboy antics that give online retailers a bad name.
So hopefully i will be able to get hold of the item and deliver next week he certainly seemed happy that we are going to ring him in the morning and let him know either way he obviously has had no customer service from them either.
Well thats what makes us different here at Cast Fireplaces we care about the service we offer and customers are valued when shopping with us so why would you shop anywhere that does not offer this.

Daisy Fireplace Cast iron Combination is Featured Item

Monday, January 4th, 2010

Well back to work properly today and have been to the factory and met a few customers for collection and been in office all day planning routes for delivery and generally sorting things out and i can now say we are back up to Full Speed.
Over Christmas and New Year we did write a few articles but not much in the day to day things we write about as we were closed so there was not much to tell you.
Anyway in all the festive fun i forgot to do the Featured items which we normally do at the start of the month
This months featured cast iron fireplace is The Daisy Combination Fireplace this small bedroom fireplace had been discontinued by Gallery from the fireplace brochure but is still available to us directly on container so we will carry on selling this Bedroom size cast in both the Black and Highlighted Finish.
I has a shelf width of 30″ and is perfect for any small bedroom chimney breast i personally think gallery have dropped a clanger removing this from the range but im sure it will benefit us as many fireplace shops will not be able to supply it.
Also it will be held in price and will not be affected by any current price increase. We also offer it as one of our packages for gas, solid fuel,LPG and electric use so if you do want a working bedroom fireplace thats is great value look no further than the Daisy Fireplace

Victorian Style Fireplaces from Cast and Pine Direct

Sunday, January 3rd, 2010

So we often get asked what is a Victorian fireplace well basically the answer is a fireplace made in the reign of Queen Victoria 1819-1901 (Longest reining monarch) this period spans so many different decades it really does define a great era not only for fireplaces but for the shaping of things and items in general.
The Victorians were the masters of Cast iron and there are so many fantastic designs of fireplaces that a lot of our replica fireplace have been cast on an original.
Here at Castfireplaces we do not supply original victorian fireplaces but we suppy reproductions of this fabulaous era.
A fireplace of this great age varied from room to room from a plain combination or open grate in the servants quarters to a grand fireplace with decorated slate or Marble.
Any timber fireplace would always be painted (not like todays stripped wood fashion) and quite often grained or marbelized to match the more expensive original item.
In the bedrooms of any victorian house you would find a smaller combination fireplace with a shelf that was designed to be used as a heat source not just for display.
So many houses have lost these fantastic features over the years and in particular the 1970s so we do offer a good range of smaller bedroom fireplaces to compliment the larger ones we do.

Saturday, December 26th, 2009

Happy Boxing day we are not at work today so please dont think im a saddo posting an article about fireplaces i am actually at my sisters with all my family having christmas boozy fun.
Anway heres todays article.
The celtic cast iron fireplace has been a firm favorite in the selling stakes for quite a few years and understandably so as it is a great looking fireplace and with prices starting at £250 for the cast iron on its own what better or cheaper way is there to make a feature out of your chimney breast.
The celtic comes in three finishes

Black A matt black finish we can be treated with black lead grate polish for amore traditional look

Highlighted This finish is where all the raised edges have been polished to give a highlighted appearance to all the decorative features

Full Polished Our most popular choice the polishing on all gallery fireplaces is secondary to none in the trade and this offers amodern look to a traditiopanl fireplace.

As with all the fireplaces we sell the Celtic Cast Iron Fireplace Package is available as a package complete with choice of hearth for our normal option of solid fuel (Real Fire) Gas and Electric use and on our new website it alos comes with the option of an LPG gas insert for our customers running on bottled gas.

Regal And Brompton Limestone Fireplace Package

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

This months featured limestone fireplace is the Regal and Brompton Limestone Package this particular arched insert is one of the smaller inserts we do which is suitable for using in a limestone or timber mantel of smaller sizes to suit the chimney breasts where either they are smaller than average or in aroom where space is tight.
The Regal arch is actually one of our most decorative arched inserts and is only available in the Highlighted finish as shown so it really brings the decorative features in the band to life,it alsohas a smaller cast iron back so the chmaber size in your chimney breast does not ahve to be so large.
It can be used for Solid fuel gas and electric use and is available as a fireplace package in all options.
The Brompton surround we sell with this package is available in a 51″ shelf width only as this is the Surround which is most suitable for this particular arched insert. All made form 100% solid agean limestone i amsure you will agree that this makes a fantastic looking victorian styled fireplace that is suitable for chimney breasts of around 52″ and above.
If this is still to large have a look at the Henlow or Ripley Limestone mantel which is available with a shelf width of 48″ which is ideal for even the smallest chimney breast wanting a limestone feature fireplace.

Fireplace Shop Myths What they tell you is not true

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

Now Today I have had a call from a Woman in Surrey who rang us after visiting our website over the weekend and then going to a fireplace shop local to her on Sunday here’s a few things the shop told her after asking why there prices were more than double ours.
Now these salesman must be so desperate for a sale they have lied and deceived the customer beyond belief, now it makes me mad people saying Online Retailers have no customer service or back up we pride ourselves on customer service and you only have to read my article the other day about fireplace showroom who do not return calls.
I do understand they have a bone to pick with us saying we can sell them cheaper than them as they have larger overheads well that is not true we have 1700 sq Foot factory to pay for, 2 Modern vans and we spend £1000s of pounds every month on seo and google ads let alone the rates, heating and lighting for our factory and office.
Now wait for it here’s the best bit the products you buy from them are made from inferior cast iron and HETAS registered fitters and GAS SAFE fitters will refuse to install it due to this.
What utter Bo****** I have never heard such rubbish in my life.
The Gallery Fireplaces we sell are the same ones sat in there showroom just like they sit in our showroom we do not sell seconds, rejects or any other made up excuse they come out with.
Now I know which shop you are and I have even been passed it when out delivering and if you think it is ok lying and deceiving customers to clinch a sale then you go ahead I can honestly say the day we lie to our customers regarding any of our products is the day I will pack it all in.
Yes there are dodgy firms out there who have terrible customer service and sell rubbish but then there are High Street Shops that do the same ask yourself this when ordering online

1 Can I contact them by phone and do they have Address and Company details shown
2 Are they VAT registered and will I get an invoice
3 Do they have a showroom I can visit?
4 Am I going to get Honest Correct Free Advice without Sales Pressure?
5 Can I contact any of their Customers or read genuine testimonials

If you can not assure yourself of getting all 5 of these things move on to another website or shop its just not worth the risk

So if you do want a fireplace or stove that can be used for gas or solid fuel use shop with us here at Castfireplaces we have over 5500 genuine customers who have bought from us in the Last 6 years that’s why we are in my opinion the best fireplace retailer online.

And Just for the record we do now have a sale for a Pembroke Black Fireplace with Granite Hearth for Solid fuel use going to Surrey on Sunday 29th so not only have you lost your sale you have deceived someone who will tell all her friends and Family what a con merchant you are

Derby Black Fireplace Novembers Featured Cast iron

Saturday, November 7th, 2009

So it perils me being a forest supporter to have a fireplace named after a team i dislike but it was not me who named it and within our group inc our suppliers it is known as the Dirty for these reasons only.
Joking apart it happens to be a great cast iron combination fireplace and has a fireplace award from back in the day to its name.
It was dicontinued from the gallery range a few years ago but it is still made and we do keep it in stock because it is a very nice fireplace and also because it sells quite well.
So really it is exclusive to us no other website i know of sells it and we will continue to sell this fireplace.
On the new website categories it will be featuring as a package for both gas and solid fuel so it will give our customers a chance to buy this cast iron with a greater choice of options again all at our fantastic prices.
Anway about the Derby it is available in Black Grate polished finish only which really brings out the decorative features in the casting it does have a good sized back on suitable for solid fuel use and takes quite a large gas insert too.
Have alook at the photograph to view this fireplace in all its splendour and i am sure you will agree it does look good even if it does have a dodgy name

Coronet and Palmerston is Septembers best selling Cast Iron Fireplace

Monday, October 5th, 2009

So the next Category we feature is the best selling Cast iron Fireplace of the month this month it is a draw between the Black Pembroke and the Full Polished Pembroke both of which we have featured before so we are going to feature the third best seller which is the Coronet and Palmerston I really like this package and its perfect for fireplaces that need to be larger than a standard cast iron combination fireplace to make more of a feature.
The Palmerston 48” in Full Polish finish looks at home best with a smaller arch such as the coronet and the feature of the matt black insert with the Full polish of the surround really sets it off.
We have sold both solid fuel and gas versions of this package this month and this package is featured on display in our showroom and we have sold two from this display when customers had originally come to view an alternative fireplace.
Gallery have decided to discontinue the black version of the 48” Palmerston mantel but the 48” full polish version will still continue to be sold by us here at Castfireplaces so take a look at the picture below and order yourself Septembers 3rd best selling Cast Iron Fireplace
