Crates of Fireplaces and Wooden Surrounds Arrive

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

It was like a scene of devastation at our factory today when 1st thing this morning we had some cast iron fireplaces delivered which were promptly unloaded by the forklift and john was back on his way to our suppliers to relaod his van with all the other things we need to dispatch this week.
After that little job had been done we had a load of Oak Mantels some made to measure that have been done whilst i have been on holiday arrive that were also unloaded and stacked away with customers names on to be despatched this week.
Friday we have all the Pine Bedfords and Worcester mantels arriving that have been made too and this is really just in time as i have let stocks drop a little low whilst i have been away.
Just to top it off all the extra Stoves we have ordered to increase our stock levels are arriving too this week and will be stacked in new Factory awaiting dispatch.
Luckily for us we have use of this building till the sale is completed otherwise i have no idea where i would have put it all.
Along with the Limestone Mantels that are due any day now we are really full of stock ready in time for the “Heating Season”.
All office work is now up to date with all the weeks routes planned and it is a very busy week so i only have Sundays customers to ring tomorrow regarding the Souths 3 delivery runs and then all is complete.
Thats not bad at all two days to catch up im pleased with that but i did cheat again and come in early this morning before the phone starts ringing it does give me a chance to get things sorted.
Im out delivering Fireplaces and Stoves around Birmingham tomorrow as there are too many for Stuarts Friday Run to the South west and South Wales.
So im back around lunchtime so untill thenm you will get the Lovely Rhian answering phone.

As gallery stockists we do supply the full range of gallery fireplaces from both our showroom and also via our website.
You are more than welcome to come and view just ring us to make appointment but for those not wishing to visit us read on.
We have contemplated having a pdf brochure online for our customers to download but on feedback we have discovered our customers prefer to have it posted to them in hard copy so they can look through it at their leisure and indeed even cut bits out like one of our customers today told me they did.
We do have a full range of brochures from Gallery which are the Purple brochure containing all the Cast iron fireplaces with Timber and Limestone Mantels etc.
The pink brochure has Stoves and Firebaskets in and finally the green Brochure has modern suites in Jura stone and Limestone etc.
All these brochures are available from us free of charge and will be snt out in the post to you.
Not many if any other online fireplace companies offer this service along with our samples service its what helps make Castfireplaces different from the rest.
So if you do require a brochure we will be adding a Brochure request section on our website so you can fill in your detasils there and leave the rest up to us.

Can i use Bedroom Fireplace in Dining Room

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

Good afternoon what another busy morning with deliveries and loading vans for tomorrow the day has just gone.
When i got back to the office i had an email from someone asking if they could use a bedroom fireplace in the dining room.
Now i know on our website we do not have a section called bedroom fireplaces but i know exactly what they mean.
Basically a Bedroom fireplace is a small Combination Fireplace of around 30″ to 36″ that can be used on a small chimney breast mostly for decorative purposes however they can also be used for Solid Fuel (real Fire) Gas or Electric use.
All these type of fireplaces are designed for smaller chimney breasts not just for use in Bedrooms infact most we sell around the 36″ shelf width normally go in Dining roooms and Hallways.
Saying that they are also ideal for bedrooms that have chimney breasts and most Victorian houses do, the thing is to have a small combination fireplace with a built on shelf to form a compact decorative fireplace that can be used. This type of fireplace are excellent value for money as you are not also paying for a seperate surround which keeps the cost down.
We also do larger combination fireplaces such as the Pembroke and Edwardian suitable for larger rooms as they both have shelf width of 48″
So in answer to your question a combination fireplace is not just restricted to use in a bedroom they can be fitted as a working fireplace or decorative feature to any chimney breast in any room.

Cast Iron Soot Doors Available from Cast Fireplaces

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

There are many different ways to install a wood burning stove or Fireplace and all good profesional retailers and installers will tell you that you need access to your flue or chimney to clean it and to remove and soot buildup.
If using a flue liner this can be swept through the stove without a problem so thats fine, however if you are using no flue liner you will have to gain access to your chimney brest to allow the soot to be cleaned away after sweeping.
There are two easy ways to do this either to buy a Register Plate with a sweeping hatch theat can be removed so it can be cleaned on top of the plate as the ones we sell on our website or to buy a Soot Door which is cut into the chimney breast and allows a good access to the chimney breast.
Both ways are ideal for accessing the original chimney and the method you choose is down to you, i personally prefer the soot door if its on an external wall so it can be fitted outside.
So have a look at both items we offer and see which method you prefer
These are made from Cast Iron and fix simply into the chimney breast, i am sure you will find us very competitive on this item and we have sold 20 9″ x 9″ soot doors today to a trade firm in Newcastle thats how good we are on price
Do not forget if you need any advice before or after buying your Fireplace or Stove we are on hand to answer any of your questions

Bedroom Fireplaces What exactly are they

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

Well a strange question i know but we have been asked this a few times and which paricular fireplaces are suite to the the Bedroom.
Well back in Victorian times before Central Heating the main heat source for heating houses was from an open grate so basically every bedroom had some form of open grate fireplace.
Most of these were small Combination Fireplaces which are around the 30″ to 36″ shelf Width.
We do offer a good selection of this type of fireplace and and all of these are perfect for decorative use or to be used for Gas,solid fuel or even electric.
Most original Victorian houses will have tiles that are set at the same level as the wooden floors in your bedrooms next to the chimney breasts these are what the original fireplaces were sat on such as the image below ive borrowed from google images it shows a nice original fireplace sat on simple quarry tiles all level with the floor so you dont stub your toes.

This type of tiles are pretty common and is ideal for sitting a combination fireplace on for decorative use only.
If using for solid fuel or gas use there are regulations reagarding hearth sizes etc but to be honest it is a waste of money haveing a working fireplace in the bedroom as it will get very little use.
We alos often recomend just tiling over the existing tiles if they are damaged with a few slate or granite tiles you can buy from tile shops it will save you around £90 on the price of a granite fireplace hearth and also being thinner it is easier to walk around in the bedroom.

So if you think you would like to reinstate a Bedroom Fireplace have a look through the options we have on offer or contact us so we can point you in the right direction

Can we collect Fireplace when visiting Crich Tramway

Sunday, April 4th, 2010

Well its Easter sunday im sat in my office at 9.45 pm just answering a few emails before i go to bed you see we really do work strange hours its all part of our great service.
So today strangely enough has seen quite a few orders proccessed by our website and i have answered a few calls whenever i was in as we are off work till Tuesday.
So we had a phone call about the Celtic Full Polish Fireplace and whether they could collect it after visiting Crich Tramway museam which is not far from us and to be honest is good day out.
So always one to be helpful im meeting them at 4pm on Easter Monday at our showroom so they can take it away with them as they are in the area and wish to collect saving them £50 delivery charge.
We are out in the morning on an easter egg trail at Kedleston Hall so collection earlier wasn’t possible.
We do have an if we can we will attitude here so as you can see we do offer things and services other companies do not thats what makes shopping with Castfireplaces one of the best buying experiances you will ever have online.

Pembroke Black Fireplace

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

The Pembroke Black Fireplace package is this weeks featured item and this just happens to be our best selling cast iron package by far.
The Pembroke is available in Black as shown here and also a full polished finish which is availble on our website too.
So a little bit more about this fantastic fireplace, it has a 48″ shelf width and is a 41″ x 41″ square of cast iron. Its very simple in design but thats does not mean its a plain looking fireplace.
In my opinion it is the best looking fireplace in the gallery range and from our customers point of view they agree with me as it appears in our best sellers list on the right hand side of our front page.
For customer swith smaller chimney breasts it does have a smaller brother called the Celtic which has shelf width of 36″.
The Pembroke Black is ideal for solid fuel use and now availble with the Deeper back (extra £100) it creates an area big enough to throw on some large logs.
Most of the black ones we sell are for solid fuel use and with prices at £420 with a 48″ granite hearth to match its an absolute bargain which you would be mad to miss out on.
We do have plenty of these in stock so if you wish to buy this weeks featured fireplace product click on the picture link below to take you straight through to the item

Fully Stocked Fireplace Factory except Granite

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Well over the past two days we have had well over 100 cast iron fireplaces delivered to us to replenish our stocks and this now means we have all our stock items in bulk again ready to supply all over the UK via our fantastic delivery service.
John from our suppliers has been unloading them using our forklift as i have been in the office they are in temporary accomadation in the Unit next too ours until i get chance next week to remove all empty crates and restack these.
The only thing we are now short of is 48″ Granite hearths for solid fuel use and with those not arriving till the 1st week of April we will run out early next week, again with the cold winter we have had, all the stocks accoss the major stockists have run dry.
As these come from China there is not alot that can be done to speed up the process so we will just have to offer alteranative hearths or people will have to wait untill they arrive.
We do have plenty of 54″ hearths so please keep ordering the larger fireplace packages we do and it wont be a problem.
One of the main reasons we have run out is the amount of Black Pembroke Fireplace packages for solid fuel use we have sold everyone goes with a 48″ granite hearth and these have been selling so fast we ran out of Pembrokes too but we now have those back in stock so we may have to swap to offering tiled hearths untill the granite returns to stock.
Anyway ill keep you all posted as to stock situation…
Oooh nearly forgot the Oak mantel with the Fancy moulding has been done today it will be ready monday so ill keep you posted about that too

Space sorted for Fireplaces arriving into stock

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

As i said last week we have a huge amount of Cast iron fireplaces arriving to us next week and to be honest just in time too as we are out of Pembroke Black Fireplace and only have a few of the other items we stock left.
After such a busy week my job has been made easier in moving things around as alot of the crates we keep this items in are nearly empty which means we can remove them and replace crates with full ones and then just recrate all the oddments together.
So space will be made in the morning for the deliveries arriving Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week.
Im sure John from our suppliers will be sick of the Journey to Langley Mill by the end of the week, but i know he does appreciate our forklift and the amount of work we now do not have to do as anyone in the fireplace trade knows cast iron fireplaces are very heavy items.
We are also expecting a delivery of Jura stone mantels we have on order and i know Daz is busy this week making Oak Lincolns and Bedfords again just in time to replenish stocks to ensure our quick delivery service is kept up and running.
Right off to Stuarts to drop off a late order ive added to his van for a customer tomorrow (sunday) so they now have a stove to go with there Limestone Package and still will only pay 1 delivery charge saving them both money and time.
Thats why we keep so much in stock it makes us better than the rest
