Do you charge for Fireplace Delivery and Collection

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

Good Evening a simple question with a simple answer
Yes we do charge for delivery of our fireplaces and stoves and this depends how much on how far away from us you are
You can check out all our current delivery prices on our Delivery Page using our postcode system
Prices start from £25 depending on location.
As for collection we keep our prices low and charge for delivery so customers who do collect from us do not pay anything towards delivery.
There is no such thing as FREE DELIVERY it is just basically built in to the price of the Fireplace or Stove you are buying, i know of one site recently who states free delivery but has infact increased all there fireplace packages by around £50 so really its not free.
Our system is the fairest online and im sure the cheapest too if you buy say a Celtic Fireplace Package from us at a price of £375 and live in Nottingham NG postcode it will cost you £25 to have it delivered.
If you collect from us it is still £375 and if you live as far away as Brighton BN postcode for instance it will cost you £50 for delivery.
No hidden gimmicks of free delivery it is simple and easy to use and those customers closest to us pay less as all our fireplaces and stoves are delivered in our own vans.
We never charge for collections and tomorrow have customers coming to collect from Sherwood, Mansfield and Shrewsbury so as you can see they have all saved money not having it delivered.
We do get asked alot if we charge for collections or the standard question are your prices the same in your shop as they are online the answer is YES and always will be YES.
We really are different to all other shops online so give us a try and save your hard earned cash for your new Fireplace and Stove and just remember FREE DELIVERY NEVER IS FREE

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

Well its late now on Thursday evening now i have finished for the day after a lovely 4.30am start this morning to be in Llandrindod Wells this morning at 7am for our legendary early morning delivery.
This was follwed by a quick trip to Shrewsbury and then to Litchfield on my way back.
Stuart has been off today as we are both out again this weekend and both out tomorrow again i in the North East and Stuart to Norwich, cambs etc.
If things continue like this i will be looking for another Full time Delivery van driver as i really need to spend more time in the office.
Its not that i do not enjoy driving about and meeting our customers i love it its just that im not finishing till late in the evening and its only the start of September.
So really this week has been a blur i know we are on short time with only 4 day week but it really has flown by.
What with collections and deliveries of our fireplaces and stoves im sure it has been the busiest week since the tail end of Winter.
So i will see how the next few weeks go and if it gets busier as im sure it will it looks like another van and driver will have to be added to our little company.
Im running out of family to help us out we may have to add a stranger to our ranks.

Busy day Delivering Limestone Fireplaces

Sunday, May 16th, 2010

Hello got back form London at 12.45 pm today after doing my 5 drops in Oxford, Gerrards Cross, New Malden, Sandy and Great Oakley.
As is normal we had full vans going out again this week and every fireplace delivery myself and Stuart has done seemed to have a Limestone or Jura-stone Surround.
Now i dont mind the size and weight of the them but it is impossible to deliver 10 limestone sets on 1 van due to weight of around 1.2 tonnes for those alone.
So we split it into two delivery runs with me on the left side and Stu on the Right coming up the right hand side.
Of course being the boss i had the easy run (well quickest) but im sure the heaviest as my van was groaning this morning going up hills on my way to Oxford.
I was out the door at 5.15 am as i had an early 7am delivery theres nothing like a limestone package to wake you up at 7am when it needs to be delivered.
So all dropped off and back home for 12.45 pm i wish it was the same each week but it never is ask Stu he has an 11 hour day via Lancing, Leigh on Sea and Cambrdige etc with quite a few others in between.
He never moans just gets on with and i can honestly say he will be as happy at his last drop of the day as he was on his first thats the way he is.
So if you wish to meet any of our friendly Fireplace delivery team just order online and we will soon be heading your way.

Day in the Life of a Fireplace Delivery Man

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

Thought i would share with you one of the nicest days driving i have ever had delivering Fireplaces and this is a typical Sunday delivery day.
4AM
God is that my alarm clock already its time to get up and start another busy day delivering fireplaces to the South of England.
Im out of the door at 4.15 am with a travel cup full of Twinings English Breakfast Tea theres nothing better to start the day got outside to the Van started up and had to defrost the Windscreen good job i still had some De-icer left in the Door pocket. Sat nav set up its time to go 1st postcode punched in Bexhill on Sea 4 hours away and 220 miles ill be there for 8am Delivery as roads will be quite.
Driving down the M1 towards London warning signs flasnhing M1 shut junc 18-16 great news im going that way.
Quick tap away on sat nav and new routes is found i am now going down the M69 it is slightly longer by 8 minutes and its 20 miles further still it beats sitting in Traffic for 40 minutes as i later found out from Stuart who couldnt avoid it.
Well what a nice route that is no traffic good fast roads i arived at Bexhill at 07.50 with Firefox 8 Stove to a lovely Bungalow one street away from the sea how lovely is that.
Unloaded that in the rain and placed near hearth in front room and on my way to Brighton 30 miles away im now exactly on time from our trusty sat nat planning arrived in Withdean after driving down the A27.
Unloaded the Coronet and Brompton Limestone package into Mr Roberts Garage (what a treat) and was off again this time heading for Fareham.
This is where it got nice the Sun was out and driving down the Coast road through Chichester it was a gorgeous morning with beautiful sights and sounds and i arrived in Fareham and delivered a Sovereign and Pine Bedford Package with Lavenham Velvet Tiles all for solid fuel use.
A few pointers for the Customer re tile fitting and im on my way again heading towards Sunbury ive only got 5 to do today and Stuart is in Ramsgate and the other side of the M25 working his way towards Soham.
The sun is streaming down ive got my shades on window slightly down listening to some great music on the radio thinking god i love my job and even 15 minutes delay on M3 didnt bother me today.
Got to Sunbury 5 minutes late than my 1st arrival time which is amazing planning even if i say so myself and unloaded a Pembroke Black Fireplace package and was off again to my last call in Flaunden with instructions to leave it in the Hosebox on the front drive.
Well i must say what a beautiful little village and the most stunning red brick built house i was delivering too now that is where i want to live when retiring or for that matter now it was just heaven even thought about taking photo to show Rhian but customer was not in so didn’t.
Well the next two hours flew by driving back up the M1 dreaming about my red brick house and stunning village setting it really was perfect and in no time at all sat nav is shouting at me to take M1 exit home its now 2.15 pm and im meeting a customer at the Factory who turns up in nice Lotus.

MMMMMmmmm thats got me thinking again how great would that look in the front drive of my new red brick built house in the perfect village setting well until then ill always dream about that.

It Seems to be fireplace Collection Day

Saturday, March 20th, 2010

What a strange day only 1 order on our Website from Customer in Solihull and it seems everyone local to us has decided to pay our Factory and Showroom a visit and what turns out to be a day of collections.
the first customer i knew about as he been emailing me all week regarding collecting a Barcelona Black solid fuel package from us he had seen on our Website.
I thought they were from West Bridgford Nottingham but as it turns out they had come from Sheffield im not now sure why West Bridgford came to mind.
A quick look round our showrrom just to confirm he likes the fireplace and then its promptly loaded into the back of a van he has borrowed and the first of what turns out to be three customers collecting from us today is on his way back home.
As Stuart was late back Friday from Delivery run we are going to load his van today mines already done and full of fuel for tomorrow morning.
So in between wrapping all items up another customer rings me from Ilkeston asking if they can collect Firefox 12 Stove i say straight away have you got a van and a couple of strong mates to which he replies yes.
Im not joking 15 minutes later Man Mountain is stood in front of me paying me in Cash for a Firefox 12 im 6 foot 1 but he towers above me im sure he could lift it on his own.
But that would ruin the fun of me driving the forklift so i persuade him gently ill load it into his van he can then lift it out his end. Another Happy customer and im back to loading van whilst waiting for 1pm and 2 pm apointments.
Both are on time and the first at 1pm takes away Solid oak stourhead mantel and toulouse tiled insert we dont have the tiles they wanted so they take there second choice Tulip Ivory Burgundy.
The last customer of the day at 2pm orders a Black Pemborke and Black Celtic Fireplace package and even though we have them in stock to go he lets me deliver them as they have only come in a car.
Sometimes its easier for us to deliver as its all wrapped and packed carefully and we are experts at delivering Fireplaces and Stoves.
They are in Sheffield so i tell them i will deliver it next Week so they can continue with the renovation of there Victorian Home.
So another busy day at the Factory so much for having Saturday off well i hope im not in too much trouble for it.

Busy Bees at Cast Fireplaces again

Friday, March 5th, 2010

Another real hectic day at Cast Fireplaces there just seems to be no let up i have even gone without dinner today until 3.30pm not that it would do me any harm as i could do with losing weight.
It all started this morning with me going to Scunthorpe and Nottingham to deliver a couple of fireplaces our customers required in a hurry but thats part of our excellent service.
Anyway i got back to the office and Rhian gave me a pile of Website orders our new site had created so i rang them all back to confirm choices and to arrange delivery after this was done i was on my way to Chesterfield with a Tiger Plus stove and then on to Nottingham to collect two Fireplaces which are being delivered on Sunday.
Back to the Factory just in time to meet a customer from Birmingham who had come to view a Pembroke Full Polished Solid Fuel Package and that was promptly loaded by Me and Stuart who had just returned from Bristol and Gloucs run via all over the South West.
We had a quick chat as we loaded his van and then mine for this weekends run to Sunny London i got back home at 3.30 pm and was straight in the fridge hunting for food good job my wife went shopping yesterday it was packed with goodies.
Anyway back in the office raising delivery notes and invoices and yellow telephone notes posted everywhere with people to ring.
Rhain said the phone had not stopped and looking at all the paperwork im not sure how it all got done.
Im now sat here in my office writing this blog at 19.30 having completed all my jobs and after this is done im switching off for the Night.
Out with the kids in the Morning to The park with the dog so im not sat in front of my pc but the phone is transferred if you do want me.

Fireplace Deliveries we can send items anywhere

Monday, February 8th, 2010

We have today been asked if we can send Four fireplaces and hearth sets to the Isle of Man as they had seen them on our website and liked what they saw.
We can arrange delivery of items to this island but it will arrive by pallet as we do not do our own van deliveries there as it takes too much time and expense on the ferry etc.
We are more than happy to arrange this service for all our customers or can otherwise deliver it straight to the shipping agent of your choice.
Speaking of Collections we had an American customer arrange collection of a fireplace order that was going to in the USA while he was visiting the Newark Antiques Fair and had his shipping agent collect and take away to put on container along with some original antiques he had bought.
So we can arrange deliveries to places further afield of our normal delivery runs whether it be by pallet delivery or separate courier or shipper so if in doubt please ask us what we can arrange for you and for our normal home delivery service please have a look at our Delivery Page for further details and prices of what we believe to be the best service on or offline.

We offer the Best Fireplace Delivery On or Offline

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

5.30 AM this morning i was on the Road from Ripley in Derbyshire to Pudsey in Leeds for one of our legendary early morning delivery calls with a Firefox 5 Stove for a Customer who had ordered the day before asking if we could deliver very quickly as he needs to get it fitted this week.
As luck would have it we were going to Bridlington, Hull, Saltfleet, Wragby and Nottingham today so i told him the only way we could do it would be 7 AM Delivery which suited him fine as he was off to work at 8 so i dueley arrived early at 6.50 and unloaded it and then dissapeared into the thick Fog on my way to Bridlington.
On the way there i was thinking to myself how unique our delivery service is with its early morning calls, 1 hour timed delivery slots, weekend delivery to London and the South just to mention a few of the main points.
We do put a huge amount of effort into our delivery service making it the best to be found anywhere with all our products no matter how big taken into your home (not dumped outside or doorstep delivery) it really is unusual to find this level of service.
This i am sure is one of the main reasons and of course our prices is why many people order with Cast Fireplaces i can not think of any other company on or offline who comes anywhere near our service.
Yes it plays havoc with all our home lives especially the Sunday run which is not nice week in week out when others are out enjoying themselves on Saturdays but thats the service we have chosen to offer and we intend to continue with it.
So if you want to order a fireplace or Stove from a online company who offers better than High Street Service look no further than us here at Cast fireplaces

Worst Fireplace Delivery Day i Have Ever Had

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

Today has been the worst experiance delivering fireplaces i have ever had it has been a nightmare, as most of our customers know we deliver fireplaces and stoves all over the UK using our own fantastic delivery service.
Well as we have been so busy and the snow had slightly disrrupted our normal service i was today heading to Esh Winning near Durham.
I set off at 5.30 am this morning and followed the gritting lorry right through to the A38 the road was fine and i carried on to M1,M18 A1 Etc.
All was going nicely and then i took my turn off to Esh Winning the roads again were fine until i came to the road i wanted and im not joking a foot of snow was in my path.
Luckily i wanted number one so i parked on corner and unloaded Firefox 12 onto our wheels and away i went 5 minutes later it was sat in customers house and i was on my way again splipping and sliding back to the main road.
So of to Durham i thought this was going to be easy 5 miles and 15 minutes on the sat nav it said which turned out to be a complete joke.
The road was black iced over all over cars were skidding and smashing into each other and going through peoples hedges and walls i turned straight round and took another route this turned out to be much safer but had the whole of the northern population on this road and it took me 1 hour 24 minutes to travel 5.2 miles.
So i arrived at drop number two to find snow blocked road again with around 400 yards to go so out came the barrow again and i carried a Tulip and Bedford Fireplace Gas package to the customers house in three trips this took me around 25 minutes as cars tried in vain to get off this road ive never seen ice and snow packed in like it it was like a scene from Scandinavia.
Anyway sweating like a pig i was sat back in my van dreading going to Billingham which was clear and then Maunby where i crawled at 10 miles an hour into a the Village which had snow and ice on the road, i thought at this point of RAC advice are fireplaces and Stoves really a neccesary journey but hey im here now and im not going back with them.
After this drop i was now 1 hour and 45 minutes late but it was all plain sailing after here with clear roads to Wetherby and finally home.
So that was my morning and half the afternnon from Hell i hope Stuart fairs better tomorrow in Swansea and Cardiff fingers crossed then.
