Is it me or have i missed Aprils fools day and am i stuck in a groundhog day type nightmare.
Today my whole thought of people has been changed some folk really are a little weird and heres why.
Saturday morning just sat relaxing watching tv with my son when the goes in the office if i had known what i know now i wish i had ignored it.
Mr C from St Helens is asking to speak to returns department and i ask how i can help him he then goes on to explain he has taken delivery of a fireplace 4 weeks ago and has unwrapped the item and the top right hand lug is broken on the Edinburgh fireplace.
I apologise for this wondering how that has happened as we do very rarely have damages i ask him for invoice number and he then tells me oh we didn’t buy it from you.
MMMMMmmm now what has this really got to do with me then i ask and he then says the company he had it from will not exchange it as he signed the pallet note unchecked and has left it past the time to check for damages etc and they will not accept liability.
So he google searched “Gallery Fireplaces” and came across us and thought he would see if we could return it to the manufacturer and sort him out a replacement.
Now in my thinking its not really my problem seeing as we didnt supply it or deliver it or have anything to do with his order.
Yes we all buy the same fireplaces from the same source but im not sure where his logic is in thinking we could help.
I told him to contact the people he bought it from asking for there help in to what they could do for him and he then said i wasn’t being very helpful.
Well what can you say to that ive told him its not my fault and we have nothing to do with the company he bought it from and he then says but its a Gallery Fireplace and you stock them so why cant you replace it.
Because you didn’t purchase it from us was my reply.
Now by this time im getting fed up of the same answer coming back and decide to be a little firm with him
1 You have not bought it from us
2 We are not associated with the Company you bought it from
3 Is This a wind up
Out of the blue he says ok ill try someone else then i just keep quiet and say goodbye so everyone who is listed in Google for Gallery Fireplaces may have had a call from this madman ive noted his number incase he calls back im sure he will get the Answer machine

Thursday, April 1st, 2010Today we have again come across the bad face of the internet in a fireplace online retailer this time who sent out the wrong fireplace which the customer had to return at there expense only to be told the reason they sent Highlighted was because they hadn’t got Black one in stock and cant get hold of it till May.
Now the item in question is a Black Edinburgh Combination Fireplace which is quite a popular selling fireplace and although not a stock item for us im not sure why it can not be supplied until May.
So a quick call to our fantastic suppliers and its been ordered with solid fuel kit and is on it is way to us which will arrive Wednesday next week.
Now where is the hassle in that our new customer needs it before 13th April so we are delivering it to West Sussex on the 11th.
Why companies do this im not sure it just makes you look stupid we are transparent here at Castfireplaces if we can not supply in time or can not get hold of the item you want we will tell you so, we never substitute items and always supply exactly wht you have ordered and to expect customer to pay to return item when its your fault sending out wrong one im sure will be against the law.
Anyway she is in touch with Trading Standards so i hope they sort it out for her.
It just goes to show you i have visited the website in question today and it again has lack of contact details and who and where they are etc so ALARM BELLS TIME.
So please be careful when buying anything online if the company in question does not tell you who they are where they are and you can not speak to anyone before ordering click the little cross at the top right hand of the screen and move on its bound to be a disaster
Oak Fireplace Surrounds more are ordered to create packages
Tuesday, January 12th, 2010As some of you know we do supply JIG Fireplaces and we can get any fireplace from the Carron range including the Carron Stove which our Jig rep Richard tells me is now DEFRA approved for burning wood in a smokeless zone which we will write about tomorrow.
Anyway the range of Fireplace Surrounds Jig Supply are vairied and we stock 4 of those in stock as we sell them as part of our Fireplace packages.
So Richard came to see us today with a sales leaflet listing some oaks surrounds that are great quality at a price we couldn’t even attempt to manufacture them at.
So off he went with a nice order and these are being picked as i write this post for us to collect and then photograph with different fireplaces to add to our ever growing Wooden Fireplace Section.
We already stock the Oak Large Corbel so we have ordered even more stock so we can reduce our prices and make them such a bargain you would be mad not to buy a solid oak fireplace at this price.
Another mantel is the Oak Edinburgh which we have ordered and is a nice corbel designed mantel which im sure will be popular and gives our customers another alternative to choose.
So these items will be going on our new website and will appear very shortly after it going live so keeps your eyes out and i will inform you on here when they are ready
