Can we buy spares for gas fireplace

Saturday, July 24th, 2010

Today we have had two customers visit our factory only from Chesterfield which is a short drive to our factory and Showroom in Langley Mill.
They were unsure when they came as to what type of fireplace they wanted in the house but they knew the rough dimensions they wanted it to be, im quite used to this now and went through various options and styles and explained what was on offer for them.
After discarding the more modern type fireplaces they decided they wanted something more traditional for there 1960s built home and it had to be a gas fire.
After finding out they only really wanted it for decorative purposes i explained about the living flame fires, on this he asked where they were made which is quite normal as his fitter had told him only to buy a british made gas insert as you can not get spares fro the foreign fires.
This is quite true im afraid thats why all the gas fires we use are made in the UK and we can get sapres for any of these.
Not so important when the fire is brand new but a few years down the line when you require matrix sets or coals etc you do not want to be replacing fires because you can not obtain parts for it.
After i explained all this he was quite happy with the Jubilee and Brompton suite and wanted to order this, as he was a little unsure whether to choose 54″ or 51″ i told him to go home and draw both mantels on his wall to check which one would work best with his Television which is sat in the corner of the room near the fireplace.
We are never pushy with sales and our customers enjoy this when shopping with us, i want our customers to get it right as when it is fitted you will have to look at it everyday as your main focal point of the room so spend a little time taking and checking measurements and then if your happy with it we are too.
Both fireplaces would have fitted but you dont want a mantel shelf to come into view whilst watching Coronation Street and as for gas fires make sure you buy a british made one as mistakes will be costly in the future.

Gallery Gas Fires do they give off much heat

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

The gas fires we supply for our gallery cast iron fireplaces are split into two main types decorative fuel effect and Convector fires.
Basically you can not use a convector fire in a traditional arched or tiled fireplace they are for use in modern suites and fascia panels.
So it now comes tto the question as to whether they give off a lot of heat.
All these fires are tested and do have output and input figures so we can honestly tell you what the outputs are, i have heard shops tell people they give off around 3.5 kw of heat but im afraid this is not true and is very misleading.
The standard gas fire we supply has a input of 6.5KW (so no room vent required) and has a heat ouput of around 2-2.2KW Maximum this depends on the draw of your chimney but we always state this.
2KW is like having a 2 bar electric fire on it will NOT heat the room of its own account (it will take the chill off) and should only be used for secondary heating or for effect only.
Whilst not being very effiecient it really looks nice when running and is very effective and we do sell 100s of them every year and no one has ever complained about the heat output.
If you are looking at a gas device to heat your room take a look at our convector fires you will have to compromise a little on victorian design and looks but with heat ouputs of over 4KW on the High Effiecency fires im sure you will be impressed with the heat they give off.

Gallery Fireplace Collection Victorian Fire Basket is the Winner

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

The last category we feature in our monthly best sellers is the Fire basket section and this month it is one of our Traditional Fire Baskets that is the winner and it is the turn of the The Victorian Basket
I think this is one of the best Victorian styled fire baskets on the market and is a classic design which is practical too as it takes a good sized log or a good shovel of coal too.
Available in Black or Highlighted finish and for use with gas, electric or solid fuel use this fire basket can be used in most situations.
The dimensions for this basket make it simple to fit in most fireplace openings, as it is not too big
500mm Wide 315mm Deep 510mm High so have a measure up and allow a little room either side of the basket so it doesn’t look to cramped in the chimneybreast opening.
This month all the baskets we have sold have been for solid fuel use (Real Fire) which is strange as we normally sell a couple of gas ones too I cant really remember the last time we sold a basket for electric use as most people use them as a real fire option as its just a matter of placing basket on the hearth area and lighting a fire.
This no fuss method of having an instant fire without any fitting costs is why fire baskets are so appealing to our customers so if you are looking at buying a basket have a loom through our sections and see what we here at castfireplaces have to offer you

Where can i Buy Fire and Trim Sets

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

We also sell Electric, Gas fires and Convector fires on there own on our website if you simply want to change the gas fire you have for something more modern or some thing has better efficiency. We now supply a good range of Gallery fires and can offer both High Output fires and High Efficiency fires too. Some of them require a trim and fret for these and we keep them all in a section entitled Fires and Frets.
This Category is where they are all available without having to buy the full suite, its surprising what a difference it makes to the look of the fireplace by changing the fire and this can be done at very little expense as all the cut outs in modern panels and hearths have remained the same for ages so you should not need to worry about the fire fitting in.
Particular interest has been shown in the new H/E Glass fronted fires from gallery as they are at the top of the tree for output and efficiency and are some of the best on the market. The item we sell most of is the Gallery hotbox fire which is for more decorative use and comes with a choice of trim and fret so you can personalize this fire to the décor of your room. Have a browse through this section and if you see something you like or need any further info just contact us and we can advise you on what you need etc

May's winner is the Cottage Fire Basket

Saturday, June 6th, 2009

Cast Fireplaces also sell firebaskets via our website we sell the gallery range of Traditional and Contemporary baskets and we have a section for each on our website. This brings me to this May’s best selling fire basket which is the Large Cottage Basket. This basket is classed as a Traditional basket but I think that it looks at home in any house modern or traditional. The basket is suitable for Gas and solid fuel and is great for solid fuel as its really high and will take a giant of a log. We have even supplied this Fire Basket for gas use to one of our local pubs so every time I go in I see a little bit of work (not after a few beers let me say). The Cottage Basket is unique in the Gallery range as its Black on one side and Full Polished on the other so if you are using it for solid fuel use its simple just to pick up and turn it around to give a different look how is that for a feature two baskets for the price of one? For £189 I think it’s an absolute bargain.
We offer two sizes of this Cottage basket simply called Small Cottage Basket and Large Cottage Basket both in the same reversible finish and the small basket is cheaper at £169.
I have posted two pictures of the basket below showing the two different sides black and polished for you all to see the features of this basket we do keep them in stock so delivery wouldn’t be long if you want to order one of these firebaskets plus we only charge £25 for firebasket delivery too.
