All Fireplace deliverys and collections are complete

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

Hooray we have managed it and delivered everything we said we would before our Christmas break, both sleighs i mean vans are now back safe and sound after snow tried to ruin our last attempt at delivery before Christmas.
I have had two people say to me they didnt think we would be arriving today with there items due to the weather and thought we would ring to cancel, in all our time here at Castfireplaces i can honestly only remember not doing two deliverys and thats when Stu was struck down a few weeks ago and i did two delivery runs and put back two deliverys to the following Sunday.
It has not been a nice drive today and we were both around two hours late getting home due to the bad weather and funnily enough the closer we got home the worse the weather was.
My last job of the day was to meet a customer at our factory who had come to collect a firefox 12 stove (the heavy one) which also happens to be our last in stock luckily for them, they had come from Chester and were surprised at how heavily it was snowing at 4pm when they came.
I enquired if they were going to drive back home but it turns out thay are stopping at her parents in Derby tonight hence the reason for collection.
So one more heave and it was loaded in his car with a 1000mm length of flue and then lock and alarm Factory and Showroom, im now back at home with a large grin on my face ready to open a bottle of Wine (Thanks TT) and sit back and relax for the 1st time in a few months knowing that our work is done for two weeks i am really so looking forward to Christmas and a nice rest.

Gallery Fireplace Firefox 5 Multi Fuel Stove Shortage

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

It looks like the Firefox 5 Multi Fuel stove is again going to be in short supply in the run up to Christmas we are due a small delivery at the end of November and we have sold the last one we have in stock to a customer in Lincoln on Thursday we did have over 20 in stock in the last week of October but they have now all been sold in we are awaiting them arriving from China.
We did double the amount of Stoves we have in stock but sales of the Firefox 5 have again gone mad and left our suppliers without stock too even after they had ordered extra in too after last years fiasco when we ran out of all stoves.
Luckily this year it is only the Firefox 5 upto now which is in very short supply.
We do have plenty of Firefox 8s and 12s in stocks and also have plenty of the Tiger Classic and Tiger Plus so it is not all doom and gloom on the stove front yet but the way things are going i expect to run short of all of those too before santa arrives.
So basically my advice is if you are thinking of buying a Multi Fuel Stove please bear this in mind and order as soon as you can both toget it delivered and also to ensure it can be fitted in time for Christmas too i know it sound daft but fitting dates are running short too and we only have 3rd week in December left now for all our local fits.
We are taking forward orders for the remaiing firefox 5 stoves we have coming into stock so we will again be taking forward orders on Monday when i know how many we have available.

Just to add insult to injury the price of the stoves are due to rise 1st week in December as we impliment gallery price increase across the whole range so take advantage of our pre ordering of the Firefox 5 stoves and we will honour the price at the time of order

Firefox 12 Multifuel stove with Boiler Option

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

A brand new stove hass been added to the gallery collection of fireplaces it is the Firefox 12B Stove which has an efficient boiler that not only warms your room but will run upto 8 radiators and also heat your household water
The following ratings have been advised on this stove

Wood Burning
Output to Water  7.4 KW – Output to Room 6.2KW

Solid Fuel Burning
Output to Water 8KW – Output to Room 4.8KW

So as you can see this stove offers a great alternative to customers wanting a multifuel stove to do the heating and water too and also it leaves the capacity toheat the room it sits in to an output that is more than enough to heat all except the largest rooms.
In our guides section we do ahve a calculator that you can use to work out how many KW you need to heat a room space.
This stove will be coming into stock to add to the full range we already have on display in our showroom at Langley Mill and with the weather starting to drop very cold im sure you will agree there has never been a better time to invest in a new Multi Fuel Stove to take away the winter chill and to cut your fuel bills.

Can we mix and Match to create a Limestone Fireplace Package?

Friday, September 25th, 2009

Can we Have an arched fireplace with different Limestone Mantel is a question I was asked today and the answer is yes.
The packages we sell on our website are only a guide to give customers some ideas of the type of fireplace packages we can supply. There is no end to the combination of these fireplaces that can be “Mixed and Matched” to suit the look you are after.
You do not need to buy these packages separately if we do not show the item you want on our website please just contact us and we can work out a price for you whether you want it for Gas, Electric or Solid Fuel Use anything can be done.
Today we have taken quite a few local orders which are to be delivered next week so I have decide to deliver them Thursday or Friday next week whilst Stuart goes to Devon and Cornwall and the North West Run again (he’s only been back from Liver pool etc for 2 hours)
I know how to choose my delivery jobs but I do need some time in the office next week as we are very near to completing website update with all our new products and categories its being tested now ready to go live after I have finished adding new stuff.
This has involved some major work by us and web company too get the result we wanted and the way we want our website to run making it the most simple to use online just wait and see I am sure you will be impressed.
Saturday morning is very busy with appointments at our factory and showroom for collections and viewings so if you do wish to come and view our items give us a quick ring as we only do viewings by appointments as Mr Cook found out today when he visited our Langley Mill Factory and it was locked up, luckily for him I was on my way back from Nottingham with more Multi Fuel Stoves so I met him there 15 minutes later and he ordered Firefox 12 Multi Fuel Stove I asked him how he knew we were there and it turned out His son who owns Broad Meadow Developments is a regular customer of ours so more customer Recommendations you really can not beat word of mouth advertising.

Do you charge to collect fireplaces and Stoves from your factory?

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

We have had two calls today to ask if collection of goods from our factory is ok and whether we charge to allow customers to collect.
On hearing this from the 1st customer I questioned him as to why he thought we might charge and he replied that he had seen a Firefox 12 Multi Fuel Stove on another website who are based in Yorkshire somewhere and when he asked them about collecting the stove they said there would be a £25 collection fee as they would have to get it sent to them instead of the customer.
I burst out laughing (which is not professional) but I couldn’t help it how strange is that charging people to collect items?
Anyway after I had composed myself I explained we keep the items in stock and collection of items is fine and we don’t charge for collection we only charge for delivery.
So he duly arrived in a little Escort van and stove was promptly loaded on to his van and away he went he even left me £5 tip for being so helpful he also told me there stove was £20 more expensive than ours but they were 30 miles closer for him to travel too but the £25 collection charge made it worthwhile having a run out to collect one from us.
So remember we don’t hide delivery charges and call it free delivery we do charge for delivery but collection from us is always free and will remain free of charge I really think they have a cheek charging customers to collect items so beware who you order your fireplace and stove from there really are some bandits out there

Firefox 12 Multi Fuel Stove is Junes Featured Item

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

This Months best selling Multi Fuel Stove is the Firefox 5 but because I featured it last month its pointless doing it again so I am going to feature the Firefox 12 Multi Fuel Stove we had a busy 2 weeks (Due to holidays) selling various stoves which is strange to say the weather has been so warm and the sales for the Firefox 12 stove could have been better as we only sold one, I should really entitle this post the Worst selling stove of the Month as that’s what it was.
This is not due to it being unpopular as normally it is one of our strongest sellers but I must say I am a little glad because anyone who has had one of the beasts delivered knows how heavy they really are.
Anyway here are a few details about this stove
It is a double door stove that is easy to open that then gives a burning area as to what seems you could fit a small tree on to. It has a controllable heat output of up to 12KW and is brick lined and comes with controllable secondary airwash system.
As with all our stoves it is approved to European EN13240 Standard and has an efficiency rating of 79%, which is good for a solid fuel appliance.
Made from cast iron its quite simple in design and boasts two large doors which give you a good view of the flames through the Glass. It can be riddled from the outside of the stove so it can be de-ashed without it all coming into the room and then simply just remove and empty ash pan.
With a stove of this size it can heat large rooms as a primary heat source on the coldest of nights and with prices from £475 there has never been a better time to buy this great hardworking stove now before the prices go up as they always do when it comes to October then sit back and relax and know that your gas bill will be reduced and let the Multi fuel stove provide a great cheap heat source for any cold room.

How to use airwash on your Gallery Stove

Friday, May 15th, 2009

An air wash system is a device that is used on our Stoves to keep the glass cleaner when you are burning a fire. Most air wash systems are adjustable on the stove and allow air to pass into the stove. The idea of this system is that air is taken in at the top of the stove and then it is heated, it then passes over the front glass off the stove to keep the flames and smoke away from the glass keeping the glass cleaner and free from soot and tar build up.
If you have a look at the picture of the Firefox 12 Multi Fuel stove shown below you will see a little handle at the top right hand side of the stove, this is the air wash control and it moves from left to right to increase or decrease the amount of secondary air entering the stove. They are adjustable so you can alter it to as what fuel you are burning.
In general terms if you are burning wood you need the air wash to be open just above ½ and the air intake around half open this is the ideal setting for burning wood if the door does start to soot up its normally due to damp wood just open air intake and adjust air wash slightly.
For Coal use we tend to suggest air wash set at ¼ to ½ and the air intake to be closed to around ¼ depending on the type of coal used. These are only experimental guides and are subject to airflow around the stove so don’t be afraid to alter either setting of the stove to obtain best heat and effiency.

Fire Fox 12 Multi Fuel Stove

Busy day at Fireplace Factory

Saturday, May 9th, 2009

Well what a day did someone fail to tell our fireplace customers its summer and i should be in the garden relaxing it has been non stop today what with loading vans, meeting customers, loading customers cars, vans and even a horsebox with the very heavy Firefox 12 Stove (god i hate them even forklift grunts at them). Today was like a day in midwinter people wanting to take fireplaces away to get fitted and others ringing from Brighton to Wick in Aberdeenshire and various other destinations between them all ordering fireplaces. Am i complaining never i love a bit of hard work and being rushed off your feet it makes the day go so much faster. I have earned a pint tonight now but only 1 or 2 as im up at 5am in the morning to go to Margate i managed to avoid the early 7am delivery as in previous article. I know the fireplace trade is very seasonal and we are very busy in Winter months but days like today tell us we are doing something right im sure its down to our customer service, great delivery service and our very keen prices thats why people buy from us and travel to visit us knowing they will get honset free advice from knowledgeable people with no sales pressure and go away with a fireplace with a big saving in their pocket. As always you dont have to compromise on quality to get the best price when buying from castfireplaces.
