The Firefox 5 multi fuel stove made by gallery fireplaces is again in short supply and we have had trade customers today on two occasions asking us if we can do a deal on 4 or more.
I knew last week there was a little problem when a company from Scotland called Smiddy Stoves rang me and asked if we could do trade price on them as Doughtys were out of stock of them and none were arrivng till November.
They did purchase four from us at our website prices as we do not discount them any further as they are already very cheap.
Today we have had two further calls from trade customers asking the same questions, we do only have 12 left in stock ready to sell which after this weekends sales pattern we will be lucky if we have any come Friday.
Asking questions as you do as to how come they were in short supply again after last years fiasco i was told they had ordered double what they sold in last years “heating season” and then told they had actually sold three times the amount which nobody could have predicted.
This has happened to all the regional gallery fireplace suppliers and no one has any left and as they are made in china and it takes six weeks to arrive we are all stumped.
So again we have a little problem with the supply of our best selling stove we do have a few left on 1st come 1st served basis so be quick they will not be around very long.

Firefox 5 Gallery Fireplace Stove in short supply
Monday, October 25th, 2010The Worst case of soot in a chimney i have ever seen
Sunday, October 3rd, 2010I was sat in my office this morning have a good tidy up installing new printer and pc we have had delivered so we now will have another workstation set up as i am going to spend alot more time in the office as we have new driver starting.
Anway my mobile rang and it was Matt our local fitter who i know was doing a job in Ripley as our customer had collected a Firefox 5 Stove yesterday.
Anyway it went Mark have you got a 1000mm length of flue pipe in stock as the length the customer has is to short.
So off i went to the workshop and dropped it in to Victoria Road on the way back, when i arrived matt seaid come and have a look at this.
Wondering what he was going to show me on came his torch and pointed it through the soot door which was in the entry.
Swear words came out of my mouth i could not believe it it was as if someone had pebble dashed the inside of his chimney with soot and tar.
God knows how that had not caused a chimney fire it really was that bad, it was even running out of the soot door where it had become hot and had started to melt and run down.
The owner said he had even had his chimney swept which amazed me.
Now i am not 100% sure how to deal with this i have google searched it and it is called glazed creosote which can be removed only bu chemicals it says it is impossible to remove by brushing alone.
As i had a handfull of this shiny black stuff i can testify that to be true it would never come off hjust brushing it.
So Matt has advvised him not to use the new stove until a profeesional sweep has taken a look and a course of action agreed.
Im glad i called in it really opened up my eyes to how bad a flue can get it just goes to show what will happen to your flue without regular maintenance.
Firefox 5, Tiger and Kooga Clean Burn Stoves new to Castfireplaces
Friday, August 27th, 2010So with the addition of one DEFRA approved stove to our website last week we do have some good news about three other multifuel stoves that we will be adding to our ranks.
Two of them are slight variations on our original stoves and one is completely new.
Ladies and Gentlemen i would like to introduce you to the following
Firefox 5 Clean Burn Stove
Tiger Clean Burn Stove
Kooga Clean Burn Stove
The firefox 5 stoves are due into stock to us within two weeks the Tigers and Koogas will be slightly longer, all these have undergone testing by DEFRA so they can be used for burning wood in Smokless Zones so we really do now offer agood choice for those wishing to have solid fuel appliance in areas where you have to have DEFRA approved stove.
As you can see from the photos shown below not mush has changed with the Firefox and Tiger Stove but the Kooga is something a little different.
The stoves are slightly less effiecient than the standard modles i presume this is done to make them emit less fumes im not sure how as we do not yet have technical detailed info on them.
These stoves will be added to our website early next week so untill then check out the photos and see what you think
Do you have a small stove for a Canal boat
Sunday, May 9th, 2010Today we have had customers visit our showroom in Langley Mill to look at Multi Fuel Stoves and whether we had a small compact stove suitable for heating a narrow boat.
After showing him the Firefox 5 Stove they all agreed it was the perfect style and design they were after and with a heat output of 5kw was enough to heat the space they wanted.
They were interested in a stove with a back boiler that could also heat the hot water and run some radiators but after showing them the Firefox 12 they said it was far to large.
He had said he had seen some sort of heat exchanger which also radiates wasted heat into the room via the flue pipe and also talked of one that also was suitable for heating water which involved copper pipes around the flue which than went to a water tank.
After having a quick look online it was not something i was aware of and indeed had ever seen and to be honest have never been asked anything about.
So i have learnt a little something today but i suppose it would only be useful on a boat where hot water and heating is difficult to generate.
I like the idea of free heating but could not see many of our customers using this option to heat water as most houses have some sort of water heating whether electric or gas fired.
So thanks for this info Mr Gabb im going to research it to see if it could be of any benefit to us and if not ive learnt something today i didnt know anything about.
Normal Fireplace service has been resumed
Friday, January 15th, 2010Well im glad to see the back of the snow and ice as today has seen the start of the big thaw it is still quite icy around our Fireplace factory but when i left there this evening it was turning to slush.
We have been to South Wales and Gloucs today delivering various stoves and fireplaces and are very pleased to report no further additions to Thursdays terrible day delivering it really is strange how 24 hours and a few hundred miles makes a large difference
We have had some Solid fuel kits arrive today that we were not expecting so all the orders we have on our files for solid fuel deliverys will now go out with all the relevant bits.
I was dreading not sending the solid fuel kits with all our orders as customers like to get the fire going once it has been installed and with it still being winter its nice to have the Fireplace on.
Also today we have had a small batch of the Firefox 5 stoves arrive to service outstanding orders but we now do have none spare until the 26th/27th Jan when our main delivery arrives.
It really will be nice to be able to offer our best selling stove again and replace our showroom model where a space is still reserved for it just as you walk through the door.
Anyway off out now to drop off a stove to a neighbour 10 doors away who has ordered a Tiger Plus after seeing mine running at home.
It really is a major selling point having one running for customers to see and feel the warmth they produce.
Back in Stock Firefox 5 Stoves arriving this week but we only have 2 spare
Monday, January 11th, 2010We do have a small delivery of our best selling multi fuel stove The Firefox 5 arriving on Friday and we do have loads on order that are arriving at the End of the Month
We have been taking pre orders on this model as it has been out of stock for around a month now and we even had somebody buy our display model in the showroom as they were so desperate to get it fitted way back before Christmas.
I hate running out of items as i spend a lot of time monitoring sales patterns and deciding which items to have on special offers and to get our stock levels right but even we didn’t see the 40% increase on sales of the Firefox 5 from last year when we ran out too.
The surge in solid fuel sales was expected but again it sees our suppliers and the whole Gallery group running short of some items you just cant plan for this and with the reccesion as well nobody wanted to stock too much either.
Here at Castfireplaces we doubled our stove stock levels from our normal rate and this has kept a good flow coming through of everything except the Firefox 5.
Anyway we do have 2 left as my lovely wife has sold two today after i removed the out of stock tag on the website page and we dont expect these to be around for long.
So if you do miss these we do have stock arriving around the 26th January when we have a huge amount coming in which will see our Warehouse bursting at the seams i really must have a day moving things around but you know what its like when your busy with things coming in and going out you just never get round to it but i know at the End of the Month space does need to be made for all these Fireplaces and Stoves.
Mmmmmm now where am i going to fit it all leave that with me im just not sure yet

Solid Fuel Fireplaces and Stoves are going so fast
Friday, January 8th, 2010I know it is always busy in January when we return from our Christmas break but things this week have been mad and im sure it is the Weather.
With temperatures below freezing and according to the News -20 Degrees in some places i can see why.
Well anyway solid fuel stoves and fireplaces are flying out of our factory and with the weather as it is some deliverys are being postponed in certain areas but this has not stopped people buying.
We do keep a huge amount of fireplaces and stoves in stock and next week we do have an interim delivery of Firefox 5 stoves that we have on order as most are arriving at the end of the month but we do have 4 spare which are coming next week.
So with the upsurge in sales the gallery group has run out of various fireplaces such as the Lytton Highlighted and The Pembroke Black but the problem now is there are not any more solid fuel kits for arched fireplaces.
We only have 2 in stock and need 7 to go out this week alone, these are not due in on container until the 26/27th Jan which means we will be sending out the fireplaces without the relevant solid fuel kits and then forwarding them on when they arrive.
The fireplace can still be fitted as the solid fuel kit slots in from the front and will not hold up any fitting work but im afraid you will not be able to light a fire until it arrives.
It is not just us that has run short the whole gallery group are very low on them there really is not much we can do except wait.
As for Stoves we do have them coming into stock still so im reasonably sure we should have enough to last this cold spell out.
Right im off to toast my feet in front of my glowing Tiger Plus Stove and those that have them installed or have ordered them from us will know just how warm they are
Why the rush on Gallery Fireplace Gas Stoves whats going on
Tuesday, December 8th, 2009We have had a very unusual event happening to us over the last few week we have sold 5 Gas stoves in the last ten days now we dont normally sell that many in 2 months but strangely enough we have now sold 5 in just over a week.
We have sold 3 Firefox 5 Gas Stoves, 1 Tiger and 1 Firefox 8 all for coal effect natural gas use, as we do not keep any gas stoves in stock we have had to order them in which arrived from our great suppliers straight away.
Now the vast majority of stoves we sell are for multifuel use it seems strange to me with the price of gas why we have sold so many.
Yes they are very clean and make no mess when using and are 73% efficient so they try there best not to spin your gas meter off the wall to create some heat. Surely the idea of having a stove is to fill it with wood coal etc and sit back and watch and listen to the fire heat your home or am i being nostalgic.
I have said before how much i love fire and watching my Tiger plus stove roar way on a cold winters evening it would seem strange just twisting the gas knob and watch it jump into life.
But hey thats just me im not complaining about sales i must just be getting old and not liking change speaking of fires im now going to fill our wood basket and get the stove lit (still having damp logs problem so coal again for the bed)
Firefox 5 Stoves are due to arrive tomorrow
Sunday, November 29th, 2009Hooray at last we are due to have another 12 Firefox 5 Stoves arrive on monday after having 4 delivered on Friday that we were not expecting, this allowed us to deliver two today to customers in London who were very pleased to get the stoves earlier than they and we expected.
Now we do have 12 coming into stock but we only have four left available to purchase as we have been taking pre orders of the Firefox 5 since we knew we would run short and we had presold the 12 we had allocated to us.
So these four are available and they are probably not going to be back in stock again untill early January after these have gone so if you are looking for a new multi fuel stove we do have stocks of all the others and do not expect to run out in the mad rush but you never know.
On another note it is again the last day of the month on ” Cyber Monday” and it again is time to feature some of the other items we sell on on our website that you might not be aware of its called our featured items section.
So keep your eyes out for these new posts and see what we have to offer
Firefox 5 Stove taking pre orders for December Delivery
Monday, November 16th, 2009As i told you the other day there is now a problem with the amount of Firefox 5 stoves we have in stock to be truthfull we know have none left we do have some on order with our suppliers and they are due in to stock around the first week in December between the 1st and 4th they are due to arrive.
This happened last year with this stove and we are now taking pre orders for this stove for when it arrives.
We do only have 12 of these coming to us so it really is first come first served, this system worked very well last year and we did manage to delivery over 50 stoves in 7 days all over the uk so you can rest assured as soon as we have the Firefox 5 back in stock it will be sent out straight to you.
I do know they are trying to source extra stocks of these little stoves so hopefully thing should be back to normal asap but as i am writing this we do only have 12 available to sell so please bear this in mind for delivery.
As last year it is pointless thinking im going to wait untill they come into stock as im sure they will all be sold before they arrive so click on the link in this text abd it will take you straight through to the item.
Thanks for bearing with us on this and make that 11 for sale now somebody must have read my mind and ordered one on our website whilst i was loading this blog
How weird must get them to do my lottery numbers on Wednesday
