Feedback regarding our recommended fireplace fittter

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

We always have emails sent us here at Castfireplaces thanking us for our service and how much they like the products etc. We do recommend proffesional fireplace fitters to install our fantastic fireplaces and we do have numbers for fitters in most areas.
Today we have had an email from one of our customers thanking the fitter for such a great service so i thought i would share it with you so you can all see we only deal with decent honest proffesional fitters who will not rip you off or overcharge.
As they are recommended by us we feel it reflects on what we do as a company so we only want to be associated with the best.
What i mean is if you have a great shopping experience with us we want the fitting to be the same so you tell everyone how happy and pleased you are you bought it from Castfireplaces.
If the fitting turns out to be a nightmare we think it reflects on our company so thats why we only recommmend fireplace fitters who we have seen there work and most of them met personally.
Anyway have a look at the email sent below from our customer and she has even posted a picture of the finished article.

Hi Mark

I wanted to provided some feedback that you may wish to post re our recent installation:

We wanted to say thanks for the excellent job that Tony did in installing a fireplace in our house in Plumstead.
The finish was immaculate and we were very pleased with the final result. Tony was a pleasure to deal with, he is a knowledgeable tradesman who gave us good, honest advice. Additionally the cost of the installation was competitive compared to other companies. We can highly recommend Tony’s work and we will have him back to do more in future.

Thanks again

Rogue Fireplace Fitter is Discovered again don’t let it be you

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Rogue fireplace fitters have surfaced again today and one of our customers let her builder talk her into fitting a Henley and Brompton Limestone Package for her after we had delivered it and she has rung me today for some advice.
Now let me tell you I am not qualified to fit fireplaces for gas or solid fuel but I have so much experience in supplying fireplaces I can offer fitting advice with my eyes shut.
1st Bit of advice GET A QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL TO DO IT
2nd bit of advice SEE 1ST BIT
There advice dispensed do not under any circumstances let a none qualified fitter touch your fireplace please use Gas safe registered fitter for gas use and Hetas registered fitter for solid fuel.
The builder had fitted wooden battens behind the fireplace to hold it off the wall to meet the limestone surround. Wood I heard myself cry it is for solid fuel use (real fire) is he an idiot I replied not only had it not backfilled it he had bodged it.
Anyway problem is now solved we have sorted her out a proper fitter whose work we have seen and is someone we know we can trust.
Luckily our customer had not paid the builder for this work yet as he was due back to start something else in her house now that is a stroke of luck I have told her to report him to Trading Standards its not the 1st time we have heard of rogue traders even we have had fitters ring us offering to fit our fireplaces who are not qualified to do so these are told instantly no we don’t want our good name putting to their work.
We offer a great service and expect fitters we recommend to do the same so if you do have a fireplace supplied by us ask us if we have any fitters details for the area you live in we normally do and don’t forget always please use our 1st bit of advice for fireplace fitting

Gas Safety Register Replaces Corgi Check Your Fireplace Fitters

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

The Gas Safe Register came into effect on 1st April 2009. There is now no such thing as being “CORGI registered”. All Fireplace fitters and installers wishing to carry out gas work must be registered with “Gas Safe Register”.This follows a complete review by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) into how the existing CORGI provisions was working.

The result is that the ‘Gas Safety Register’ has now been set up and as from April 1st 2009 “CORGI” will no longer be relevant.

In the past, customers would have used Corgi registered fireplace fitters now please make sure your fitter has the relevant cards and is registered with the Gas Safety Registar to allow them to carry out your fireplace installation when using it for gas use. For solid Fuel HETAS is still in use with no change to there governing body.

Every engineer will carry a Gas Safe Register ID card with their own unique licence number, showing the type of gas work they are qualified to do. Before any gas work is carried out, always make sure you ask to see their Gas Safe Register ID card. This type of card is shown below please check all the details to make sure the engineer is qualified to undertake the work you want them to do if any doubt check them out here www.gassaferegister.co.uk/
