A quick nice easy thing to sort out i had a phonecall from a Mrs Crombleholme in Preston as to if they bought a Pembroke Full Polish gas package from us whether her dad could collect it from us as he only lives in Eastwood and as they have just moved into their house they are looking at saving as much money as possible in renovation and he is going to Preston this weekend.
Anyway along came Dad and collected it this morning after Rhian had processed order yesterday afternoon.
He duely arrived this morning at 10am as he said he would which was then loaded onto the back seats of his 4×4.
Off he went invoice in hand after me explaining basic fitting instructions as he is going to fit it and have gas connected by the Gas Safe man whilst he alters some other things at their house.
So really this little article is about collections thats why we charge seperate for delivery as people collecting can save even more money and our delivery prices working on the basis of the further you are away from us the more expensive it is to have it delivered.
Our system works and is fair so anyone wanting to save money on a new fireplace and stove you can collect from us and save yourself between £15 and £98 particularly if Dad is coming your way anyway.

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010Hello what a busy little day we have had, we normally have deliveries on Wednesday and today has been no different we are pleased to say all items are now back in stock even though some mainly the Pembrokes are still low until next week.

Pembroke Full Polish Fireplaces
These items we had run out of so it is great to have them back in stock in time for our Norfolk and Norwich Run tomorrow and our North West Run on Friday.
As normal our fantastic suplliers got it right telling me when they were coming into stock so we can take forward orders and arrange delivery dates to suit.
Im sure sometimes they must get fed up of me asking when and how many are arriving but i know they understand how difficult it is to arrange deliveries and sort out orders so a Big thanks again for getting it Right it makes my job easier.
On top of this we had our normal weekly delivery of Hearths and cast fireplaces we dont keep in stock along with some gas inserts a few tiles, solid fuel kits and all other ordered items.
This afternoon was mainly taking up by stacking it all away and back in time to meet Bank Manager to sort out finances for buying our Factory which im pleased to say has all gone well.

Time running out for Fireplace delivery as customer collects Pembroke from Newcastle
Wednesday, December 16th, 2009Now i have heard of Carrying Coals to Newcastle but today we have had a customer come and collect a Pembroke Full Polish Fireplace and granite hearth as when he rang yesterday we told him we had no delivery route planned to the North East until January and we could not deliver before then but he asked if we did have the items in stock if he wished to collect.
As most readers of our article section know we do keep large amounts of fireplaces and stoves in stock and Yes we do have the pembroke in stock both in Black and the required Full Polished Version.
So this morning the phone rang and he asked if it was ok to drive over and collect and he arrived at 2.15 pm today.
Card payment taken and fireplace loaded he was on his way saying he was fitting it tonight so his wife could decorate the christmas tree. It is a good job the fireplace he had is easy to fit and as he was using it for decorative purposes only i gave him a little fitting advice on the hearth etc.
So another very happy customer driving back home with one of our fireplaces i should really have bought him a bag of Coal to complete the little phrase of Coals to Newcastle but i suppose im more than happy to be sending fireplaces there instead.
So we are open until Sunday for collections so if you wish to collect just give me a ring
Customers Collect Stoves and we collect Fireplace Customer
Friday, October 23rd, 2009Another very busy day here at Cast fireplaces has seen two customers collecting Firefox 5 Stoves again one from Breaston in Nottingham which is fairly local but the other customer Mr Lawson was from Street in Somerset who called in on his way back from Congleton to collect.
Both customers were amazed at the amount of stock we keep and were very happy to take the stoves away after viewing them in our showroom.
Another customer this morning we collected from Heanor to bring him to our showroom as he does not have a car and was going to walk.
I said give me 5 minutes and I will come and pick you up to save your legs and he gave me some directions where to collect him from.
On the way back in the van we were chatting about the internet and how strange it was he found us searching on google for fireplaces and was surprised to find a shop 2 miles from his house offering the Pembroke Full Polish Fireplace Package at a price that he confirmed was the cheapest online and was amazed we were so close.
Fifteen minutes later he was on his way back home after declining a lift back he had ordered his new fireplace and its being delivered on Monday for him how is that for service.
So all in all another set of happy customers and Rhian has been hard at work in the office too, I am off again tomorrow watching football and then delivering in London on Sunday so if you do ring the office this weekend the lovely Rhian will look after you. Off for a beer now I deserve it.
Coronet and Palmerston is Septembers best selling Cast Iron Fireplace
Monday, October 5th, 2009So the next Category we feature is the best selling Cast iron Fireplace of the month this month it is a draw between the Black Pembroke and the Full Polished Pembroke both of which we have featured before so we are going to feature the third best seller which is the Coronet and Palmerston I really like this package and its perfect for fireplaces that need to be larger than a standard cast iron combination fireplace to make more of a feature.
The Palmerston 48” in Full Polish finish looks at home best with a smaller arch such as the coronet and the feature of the matt black insert with the Full polish of the surround really sets it off.
We have sold both solid fuel and gas versions of this package this month and this package is featured on display in our showroom and we have sold two from this display when customers had originally come to view an alternative fireplace.
Gallery have decided to discontinue the black version of the 48” Palmerston mantel but the 48” full polish version will still continue to be sold by us here at Castfireplaces so take a look at the picture below and order yourself Septembers 3rd best selling Cast Iron Fireplace

Gas Fireplaces swap your energy supplier for better deal
Saturday, August 15th, 2009Having come to the end of our contract with our gas and electricity suppliers we decides to search online for a more competitive quote.
We have a Pembroke Full polish fireplace at home with a gas living flame insert which we do have on in winter or when we just want to use it as a display feature so along with the other gas items we have this fireplace is not the most efficient item so we do always try to get a good deal from the energy companies.
The gas insert with this fireplace is an input of 6.5KW with an output of 2.1KW so most of the heat goes up the chimney. They are primarily designed as a living flame decorative fire but you do get some heat off it.
Anyway the main reason for this blog is its an ideal time to change energy companies we found a good option from our same energy company but on online tariff which will save us £191 over the year so the moral of the story is as well as shopping round to get a good deal on the internet for your fireplace don’t forget your energy bill too there is a saving to be had too even from your existing supplier.
Those of you lucky people who burn wood as a fuel source I am not sure how to help you except speak to your local tree surgeon or local wood yard.
So don’t forget buy your Fireplaces from us we guarantee to be the best and have a look at uswitch.com for altering your energy supplier or just browse a better deal
Gallery Fireplaces Basket winner is the Elan Polished Basket
Sunday, August 9th, 2009Fire baskets are one range we are in the process of really increasing into our ever popular range of gallery fireplaces and in particular the Fire basket suites we offer are going to increase over the next few weeks to offer a range suitable for gas, electric and solid fuel use.
The month of July was a busy month for fireplaces but to be honest we only sold one Firebasket and that was the Elan with Back Firebasket in Full Polished finish for solid fuel use.
This basket is one of the best-looking gallery baskets we offer and is available in Black or Full Polish Finish. We also offer it without a cast back too and without the two round knobs on the front but in my opinion it looks better with the back on and for solid fuel purposes is better as you can pile the fuel higher without worrying it may fall off the back.
It also has a decent sized area for burning solid fuel use and the basket dimensions themselves are as follows
455mm wide
300mm depth
385mm high
So as you can see its nearly 18” wide which will allow for a log bigger than what can fit in most of our multi fuel stoves so if you do fancy a real open fire with a basket as the main feature you don’t need to look much further than the Elan or one of our many other gallery fireplaces Baskets for the perfect open fire to warm any cold winter night.
Which Fireplace finish to choose
Thursday, May 7th, 2009When you have decided on which Fireplace you like the style of and which one is suitable for the dimensions of the chimney breast you then need to decide the finish of the fireplace you are buying. We offer four different finishes to our fireplaces and they are as follows
BLACK
This matt black finish is ideal for use with solid fuel fires as it will not discolour and it has a heat resistant paint applied to its surface to provide many years of use.
BLACK LEADED
This is a finish we can apply to all our matt black fireplaces it is very similar to the Old “ Zebo†that grandma used to use to polish up the kitchen range and really brings out the details to the fireplace it’s simply applied by brush then polished off to create the sheen.
HIGHLIGHTED/ HALF POLISH
This process is done at manufacture and highlighting is polishing the raised features of the fireplace to enhance the detail on the cast iron. Half Polish is a band of silver that is polished silver offering an in between of highlighting and full polishing. Both are very effective and really look good we use highlighted or h/polish fireplaces for gas use mainly but they can be used for solid fuel however the area around the bars can sometimes tarnish from solid fuel use.
FULL POLISH
This is a complete polished silver finish which is basically as it says the cast iron is polished to a smooth bright finish, it adds the contemporary modern look to any traditional fireplace.
All the cast iron fireplaces we sell are available in a variety of these finishes so just look at each item to see what finish they are available in shown below are the options we offer.
