Crown and Brompton Limestone Fireplace Junes Best Seller

Saturday, July 4th, 2009

Well it is that time of the month again when we tell you what has been our best selling Fireplace items for the Month of June it has been a short month for us as we were away on holiday for the last two weeks so we may get to see some different fireplaces instead of the main sellers we always seem to feature
We will start the ball rolling with the Best selling Limestone package which is the Crown And Brompton Limestone Package
This fireplace set has been sold by us for numerous years and always has been a good seller. This month the winner by a whisker is the Black version as shown in the photo below used for solid fuel use, as we have stated before we have seen a return to gas use recently but this month that has gone to pot and 70% were for solid fuel use (that’s what you get for trying to monitor sales trends)
The Crown is a really simple arched fireplace with no decorative detail to it at all and looks perfect with the Victorian styled Brompton Limestone Surround, which always seems to be our best seller.
This fantastic set starts at £610 plus the VAT Reduction, which is an absolute bargain for 100% solid agean limestone, and Solid Granite Set. Have a look at the photo below and order yourself this month’s Best Selling Limestone Fireplaces package

Return from Holiday to Fireplace Normality

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

As you are reading this article we will be flying back home from our summer holidays in Benalmadena Spain back to hopefully a sun drenched UK. As some of you will know there has been no one at our office or factory this week except for our joiner bevearing away on our new fireplace showroom, which by all accounts will not be far from finished. This is the time of year now when we start to gear up for the “Heating Season” all the goods we will be expecting to sell will have been order and will be starting to arrive such as New Surrounds and a range of Gas fires we are going to try out.
We always come back to a pile of work on our return but we will soon be back up to running speed in no time at all. Sorry for being closed for the last two weeks but we are a small family run business and need Holidays and most of all would not want a manager or sales person in running things as its our reputation on the line and we prefer to offer our own personal service to all our customers. We believe in old-fashioned customer service values and our whole company is built on this basis (all to often lost on website transactions).
Thanks for the numerous emails of what you would like to see in our new showroom we have listened and will be featuring most of the suggestions except for the sauna that our little timber man suggested (nice idea though).
Hopefully when we are back at work tomorrow the 1st Of July we will start the fitting of all our display fireplaces and by the end of the month we will have a fully opened showroom ready for you all to come and view until then keep checking our Fireplace website for all our offers

Work Started on Fireplace Show Room

Monday, May 25th, 2009

The New fireplace showroom work has started last week and it always amazes me how much stock we keep when you start to move it around so the Tradesmen can get in and start the new structure. All our old fireplace displays have been taken down and stored away in another corner for some of them to go back on display once the room is finished. We expect the new showroom to be open at the end of July to show you a good selection of the Gallery Fireplaces that we sell. It would be interesting to hear from customers what items they would like to see on display and would therefore welcome comments suggesting a particular style of fireplace from our website. We intend to have the full range of Stoves that we sell and a few wooden surrounds and Limestone surrounds but we have two spare display spaces left and would like to find out what people wish to see when visiting a fireplace showroom. As we sell Cast iron fireplaces these will also be on display in the showroom. So if you do have any thoughts please leave comment or send us an email. The amount of stock we keep will not decrease due to the larger showroom as this is being built on a second floor arrangement so collections are still available and in the meantime you are still more than welcome to come and visit the factory so give us a ring and make an appointment.

Increase in sales of Gas Fireplaces

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

April and May have seen a significant return to the sales of Gas Fireplaces. All through the colder months it seemed to be Solid fuel fireplaces we were selling, we do keep all data from our sales and process this to reveal which products are selling better and what if any trends are appearing. This info gives us an insight of what products to stock up with and what size of levels to keep in stock. Januarys figures showed that 31% of all Bargain fireplace packages sold was for gas use when you compare this to Aprils figure of 41% this is an increase of 10%. This rise in gas sales has something to do with the cold weather going and also due to the fact that gas prices have been lowered by our energy suppliers. With this in mind we will need to monitor these figures over the next few months to make sure we have enough Gas inserts and Granite hearths for gas use in stock when it comes to Heating season when the weather changes. Our Most popular gas fireplaces are the likes of an arched insert with Limestone surround such as the Henley and Brompton this package sells very well in gas and solid fuel use as its perfect for most houses.
Also of interest for customers who want fires for gas use is the New H/E gas fire from gallery I will feature it tomorrow as its one of the best on the market.

Plans for New Fireplace Showroom

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

Work will be starting next week on our new bigger fireplace showroom, as most of our customers know we are a Bricks and Mortar business too we don’t just sell online we do have a factory that’s full of fireplaces waiting for new homes to be found for them. We have for some time had customers visit us to view fireplaces before ordering or even taking items away as some people like to see and touch items instead of just buying online. We have decided to have a larger showroom area with even more products on display so people get a better idea of what we do and can see a larger range of  the Gallery Fireplaces that we supply. The Gallery range is so large it is impossible to stock every fireplace and surround in every finish so we hope to create a display diverse enough to show all types and styles of fireplaces and stoves available so you can visualise along with the brochures your perfect fireplace. We hope to have works complete in around a month and the new showroom open for middle of July. We can still show customers around the factory to view items as normal but there will be no items set up on display until new showroom fully opens. This does not mean there is nothing to see we stock more items than most fireplace companies and collection of items is always available. As always please make an appointment to view our stock this means you get a dedicated service with no sales pressure and we are here to answer your questions and queries and our time is totally dedicated to finding you the right fireplace at the right price. The website is always up to date with current products so if you are to far away to visit us just shop with us online you can always be assured of a dedicated 1st Class Service.

How to use airwash on your Gallery Stove

Friday, May 15th, 2009

An air wash system is a device that is used on our Stoves to keep the glass cleaner when you are burning a fire. Most air wash systems are adjustable on the stove and allow air to pass into the stove. The idea of this system is that air is taken in at the top of the stove and then it is heated, it then passes over the front glass off the stove to keep the flames and smoke away from the glass keeping the glass cleaner and free from soot and tar build up.
If you have a look at the picture of the Firefox 12 Multi Fuel stove shown below you will see a little handle at the top right hand side of the stove, this is the air wash control and it moves from left to right to increase or decrease the amount of secondary air entering the stove. They are adjustable so you can alter it to as what fuel you are burning.
In general terms if you are burning wood you need the air wash to be open just above ½ and the air intake around half open this is the ideal setting for burning wood if the door does start to soot up its normally due to damp wood just open air intake and adjust air wash slightly.
For Coal use we tend to suggest air wash set at ¼ to ½ and the air intake to be closed to around ¼ depending on the type of coal used. These are only experimental guides and are subject to airflow around the stove so don’t be afraid to alter either setting of the stove to obtain best heat and effiency.

Which Fireplace finish to choose

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

When you have decided on which Fireplace you like the style of and which one is suitable for the dimensions of the chimney breast you then need to decide the finish of the fireplace you are buying. We offer four different finishes to our fireplaces and they are as follows
BLACK
This matt black finish is ideal for use with solid fuel fires as it will not discolour and it has a heat resistant paint applied to its surface to provide many years of use.
BLACK LEADED
This is a finish we can apply to all our matt black fireplaces it is very similar to the Old “ Zebo” that grandma used to use to polish up the kitchen range and really brings out the details to the fireplace it’s simply applied by brush then polished off to create the sheen.
HIGHLIGHTED/ HALF POLISH
This process is done at manufacture and highlighting is polishing the raised features of the fireplace to enhance the detail on the cast iron. Half Polish is a band of silver that is polished silver offering an in between of highlighting and full polishing. Both are very effective and really look good we use highlighted or h/polish fireplaces for gas use mainly but they can be used for solid fuel however the area around the bars can sometimes tarnish from solid fuel use.
FULL POLISH
This is a complete polished silver finish which is basically as it says the cast iron is polished to a smooth bright finish, it adds the contemporary modern look to any traditional fireplace.
All the cast iron fireplaces we sell are available in a variety of these finishes so just look at each item to see what finish they are available in shown below are the options we offer.

Dont buy copy Gallery Fireplaces

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

Just thought i would do a quick article on fake copied gallery cast iron fireplaces what prompted this was a customer requesting a gas insert for a Celtic Fireplace and a set of bars for the Celtic. I enquired as normal as to why he wanted a replacement set of bars as they come with the fireplace and its not usually a product that needs to be replaced.

He told me that he had bought this item from ebay from a seller “with dodgy feedback” that should have started alarm bells ringing and now needed the bars and gas insert as the bars he had were damaged and the ashpan cover was missing.

I explained to him we could supply items he needed but why didnt he contact original seller to save himself the extra money for the bars he then told me they had ignored his calls and emails. Believe me we hear this story so many times from various people regarding ebay and some other websites.

As all our fireplaces are checked prior to disaptch i asked him to forward me photo as the measurements he has given me for the gas insert did not match up with our Celtic fireplace .The photo arrived by email see below what he had bought

fake-celtic-fireplace

This Fireplace is not the Celtic Fireplace and is this what was supplied as being one from the gallery range and to top it off it came with damaged items as our customer found out to his cost you cant get bars for this firelace let alone a gas insert to fit it so its totally useless to him. After breaking the bad news he decided to order a complete Fireplace gas package from us when i asked him what he was going to do with the dodgy copy he replied ebay it so beware if your not buying one of our gallery fireplaces somewhere out there are fake copys trying to disguise themselves as genuine fireplaces just so you can be sure to avoid them heres a picture of the genuine article its not hard to tell apart and all our fireplaces are stamped on the back with the manufacturers mark.

celtic-gallery-fireplace

Highlighted Gallery Fireplace gas package

So thats it for now one happy customer now has what he originally wanted at a price thats really competitive so just let it be a little warning there are companys and sellers trying to sell dodgy copys so always insist on buying a genuine gallery fireplace as once its fitted you have to look at it for the rest of the time you live in that house so we say get it right 1st time everytime.
