A simple question we do get asked quite often and i thought to myself i would explain a little further.
In our Fireplace Package section on our website we have five different sub sections of the following
Cast Iron
Jura Stone
Limestone
Marble
Wooden
Simply enough each section contains the relevant fireplace ie to find a pine or oak mantel package look in the wooden section etc.
Now to answer the original question our fireplace packages come with everything you need to complete your purchase and have a running fire without the need to buy anything else
Each package comes complete with the following options
Choice of Fireplace Finish ie BLACK HIGHLIGHTED etc
Cast Iron Back
Choice of Mantel Various Sizes
Choice of Fuel Option – Solid Fuel – Gas – Electric
Choice of Hearth – Granite – Tiled – Slate (Gas Only
Choice of Tiles (IF TILED FIREPLACE)
This completes the fireplace and unlike other comapnies if the fireplace needs a pushunder for the hearth this is supplied too free of charge.
So basically we do fireplace packages in GAS,SOLID FUEL,ELECTRIC and when you choose these options the price alters to suit.
All these packages have been put together by us here at Castfireplaces to ensure customers get the best value instead of buying items individually.
If we do not already have listed your perfect fireplace package please contact us as we can price one up for you.
On our old website they used to be called Bargain Fireplace Packages and im sure you will agree looking at our prices they really are the best deals on the internet.
So there are no hidden extra it really is what it says a complete fireplace package all you need is someone to fit it for you
Simple as that

Today we have had two customers visit our factory only from Chesterfield which is a short drive to our factory and Showroom in Langley Mill.
They were unsure when they came as to what type of fireplace they wanted in the house but they knew the rough dimensions they wanted it to be, im quite used to this now and went through various options and styles and explained what was on offer for them.
After discarding the more modern type fireplaces they decided they wanted something more traditional for there 1960s built home and it had to be a gas fire.
After finding out they only really wanted it for decorative purposes i explained about the living flame fires, on this he asked where they were made which is quite normal as his fitter had told him only to buy a british made gas insert as you can not get spares fro the foreign fires.
This is quite true im afraid thats why all the gas fires we use are made in the UK and we can get sapres for any of these.
Not so important when the fire is brand new but a few years down the line when you require matrix sets or coals etc you do not want to be replacing fires because you can not obtain parts for it.
After i explained all this he was quite happy with the Jubilee and Brompton suite and wanted to order this, as he was a little unsure whether to choose 54″ or 51″ i told him to go home and draw both mantels on his wall to check which one would work best with his Television which is sat in the corner of the room near the fireplace.
We are never pushy with sales and our customers enjoy this when shopping with us, i want our customers to get it right as when it is fitted you will have to look at it everyday as your main focal point of the room so spend a little time taking and checking measurements and then if your happy with it we are too.
Both fireplaces would have fitted but you dont want a mantel shelf to come into view whilst watching Coronation Street and as for gas fires make sure you buy a british made one as mistakes will be costly in the future.

The gas fires we supply for our gallery cast iron fireplaces are split into two main types decorative fuel effect and Convector fires.
Basically you can not use a convector fire in a traditional arched or tiled fireplace they are for use in modern suites and fascia panels.
So it now comes tto the question as to whether they give off a lot of heat.
All these fires are tested and do have output and input figures so we can honestly tell you what the outputs are, i have heard shops tell people they give off around 3.5 kw of heat but im afraid this is not true and is very misleading.
The standard gas fire we supply has a input of 6.5KW (so no room vent required) and has a heat ouput of around 2-2.2KW Maximum this depends on the draw of your chimney but we always state this.
2KW is like having a 2 bar electric fire on it will NOT heat the room of its own account (it will take the chill off) and should only be used for secondary heating or for effect only.
Whilst not being very effiecient it really looks nice when running and is very effective and we do sell 100s of them every year and no one has ever complained about the heat output.
If you are looking at a gas device to heat your room take a look at our convector fires you will have to compromise a little on victorian design and looks but with heat ouputs of over 4KW on the High Effiecency fires im sure you will be impressed with the heat they give off.

A quick nice easy thing to sort out i had a phonecall from a Mrs Crombleholme in Preston as to if they bought a Pembroke Full Polish gas package from us whether her dad could collect it from us as he only lives in Eastwood and as they have just moved into their house they are looking at saving as much money as possible in renovation and he is going to Preston this weekend.
Anyway along came Dad and collected it this morning after Rhian had processed order yesterday afternoon.
He duely arrived this morning at 10am as he said he would which was then loaded onto the back seats of his 4×4.
Off he went invoice in hand after me explaining basic fitting instructions as he is going to fit it and have gas connected by the Gas Safe man whilst he alters some other things at their house.
So really this little article is about collections thats why we charge seperate for delivery as people collecting can save even more money and our delivery prices working on the basis of the further you are away from us the more expensive it is to have it delivered.
Our system works and is fair so anyone wanting to save money on a new fireplace and stove you can collect from us and save yourself between £15 and £98 particularly if Dad is coming your way anyway.

A strange question was asked this morning as to whether we can supply an LPG gas insert which is Liquefied petroleum gas to us normal folk or bottled gas as it is more often known.
Now i thought i had covered this in our fireplace packages options but someone has asked me if an LPG unit can be supplied for the Coronet and Henlow Limestone Fireplace.
So im not sure how they missed it but after running through it with them an order has been placed excpet they went for the Crown and 54″ Henlow after a bit of advice regarding sizes etc.
Anyway these LPG gas fires are supplied by Nuflame which is a good UK Brand and im not sure why they are so much more expensive they tell me its something to do with the jets and the way it burns im not 100% convinced all i know is they cost us an extra £150 inc VAT hence the price difference on the packages.
So another order is placed and will be on its way to Rural Lincolnshire where they do not have mains gas however I have been told before by a previous customer the difference in price these days between Natural and LPG gas is not too much different so if you do require an lpg fire for all your fireplaces and even our stoves us here at Castfireplaces are able to supply that for you at prices that won’t make your eyes water

I wonder if you can help me came the question just after i had finished eating my tea early this evening, we have had this gas fireplace in for nearly six years and use it daily in winter.
We have tried using the matt black coal paint which works fine but now they are really starting to look tired and need replacing.
As i listened to this story unfolding i knew exactly what they were talking about Ceramic Fibre Coals is that what you are after i asked.
Hooray came the reply you know what i mean we have tried our local shop and they don’t want to know, im suprised about this as they are an item that is easy to get hold of but some shops dont care about after service or spares.
Anyway to cut a long story short its just a standard 16″ gas taper tray from some brand ive never heard of and the coals are square in two slightly different sizes.
After a visit to the factory this afternoon and a phonecall to the customer 20 medium coals (which were very close size) are now on the re way to Newcastle (small lie its Consett but that isnt the phrase)
So when calling us here at Castfireplaces we normally can source items you think not possible so dont be afraid to ask any questions we will only laugh if its impossible

Hello good evening to you all im sat again at my desk at 8.30 pm writing a few thoughts about whats going on in our little fireplace bubble.
Today has again been very busy with the first call this morning bang on 9am from Mr Barker asking if he can collect a basket today he had ordered instead of Sunday this turned out to be de ja vu an hour later as Mr Hein said exactly the same it must have been the sunny morning people wanting to get jobs done.
I must admit i was the same i set out to tidy up my front tool shed and in between answering calls and meeting people at the factory i finished it at 4pm after a run to the tip i wouldn’t mind its only an old toilet and is not that big.
Anyway that sorted i sat down with a nice cup of tea and the phone rang again so off back to the office i went, it turned out to be a local developer from Crich who is completing some new builds in Ashover and had seen my van on his way to Denby Pottery and took down website address.
He had visited our Website and chosen the Jubilee and Brompton Limestone Packages for the houses he is finishing and ordered six full gas packages after a little negotiation.
These Packages are to be delivered over the next three weeks two at a time so his fitters can fit them as they are delivered.
As we keep them in stock he was very pleased we could send the first batch out Tuesday next week so they could make a start.
Asking where he found us from he told me about going to Denby Pottery and seeing our sign written van so it just goes to proove it does work having a well sign written van people can see who we are and exactly what we do.
So another nice order placed all thanks to our Van living next to a main road and the way i park it on our drive it really does stand out you really cant miss it

Hi all another busy day again with deliveries to Torquay and Middlesborough two vans though not 1 big run ive had the easy Middlesborough run Stuart has been to Torquay and worked his way home with seven drops i only had four.
Anyway when i got back to the office i answered a few made to measure Hearth emails which we do have quite frequently infact now every other day but there were four of them wanting prices within a couple of hours which is very unusual.
All of them were for solid fuel ranging from a small sectional hearth for a multi fuel stove to sit on to a large 64″ x 18″ hearth for an original marble surround.
Anway all of them have been emailed back with prices and manufacture times and writing this at 20.25 we have had an order all ready for a box flusehed hearth.
Thats the joy of made to measure items and indeed hearths you dont have to put up with standard hearth not covering the constructional hearth or where existing flooring has been laid up to a hearth you are replacing you can have what you want in any size you want.
Also if you are buying a fireplace package from us and require a made to measure hearth do not worry we can still supply made to measure at the additional price to the package saving you a fortune.
So if you do want made to measure hearth just visit our Contact page and send us an email.
