The Second featured item of our new Modern Fireplaces is the Langley Solid Oak Surround. This Oak mantel has no overhang on the shelf so it is made in a box section style that is very simple. Made form 100% solid American oak and finished in a natural oiled finish it is a very simple design fireplace surround and is perfectly suited to Modern Day Living. With a size of 52†shelf width and an opening of 34†x 34†this surround will take a lot of our Larger Arched Inserts. On our Website we have listed them as Gas, Electric and Solid Fuel packages such as the Coronet and Langley solid fuel package this shows how the Modern surround can be mixed with a simple arched fireplace to create a Cast iron fireplace package that has modern appeal.
This design of surround is also suited to electric and gas packages with the simple Granite Panel and hearth set and we have listed those too in Our Modern Fireplaces Sections which comes with the Fires and a choice of trim and fret to personalise the look you are after. Also available is the new Gallery Aurora high output glass fronted fire which has also been photographed with this mantel so as you can see from the photos below this surround will work well with a lot of the current range we offer that’s why we are sure we will have a great selling surround to offer our customers a good choice when choosing a firplace for your home.

Here at Cast Fireplaces we sell the Gallery and Bliss range of gas fireplaces these are some of the most economical fires that are on the market. If you are looking for a gas fire that provides a decent heat output and is Efficient you cannot go wrong with the Gallery High Efficiency Gas Fire. This Gas fire has a heat output of up to 4.2KW and is up to 83% Efficient.
They have a glass front, which allows the ceramic fuel bed to glow at lower temperatures, and also more importantly no heat is lost up the chimney when the fire is off. These H/E Gas fires come in a range of finishes from Black, Highlighted and Brushed Steel. They also have two designs, which is the flat trim and fret and the curved trim and fret.
To complete the fireplaces they are offered with a choice of fuel bed in Coals or Pebbles. April and May have seen a significant return to the sales of Gas Fireplaces. All through the colder months it seemed to be Solid fuel fireplaces we were selling, we do keep all data from our sales and process this to reveal which products are selling better and what if any trends are appearing. This info gives us an insight of what products to stock up with and what size of levels to keep in stock. Januarys figures showed that 31% of all Bargain fireplace packages sold was for gas use when you compare this to Aprils figure of 41% this is an increase of 10%. This rise in gas sales has something to do with the cold weather going and also due to the fact that gas prices have been lowered by our energy suppliers. With this in mind we will need to monitor these figures over the next few months to make sure we have enough Gas inserts and Granite hearths for gas use in stock when it comes to Heating season when the weather changes. Our Most popular gas fireplaces are the likes of an arched insert with Limestone surround such as the Henley and Brompton this package sells very well in gas and solid fuel use as its perfect for most houses.
Also of interest for customers who want fires for gas use is the New H/E gas fire from gallery I will feature it tomorrow as its one of the best on the market.

The Modern Fireplace best seller for April was an unusual winner its normally one of our Jura-Stone Suites but this month it has been the turn of the Granite Panel and Pine Lincoln package for gas use. This simple package consists of the Pine Lincoln mantel available in 48†or 54†shelf widths, this timber surround is made from solid pine and is hand waxed to get old traditional “Antique Pine†finish we can also supply unfinished if you wish to stain or wax it yourself.
The Granite Panel is a standard 37†x 37†panel with opening of 16†x 22†which will accept any standard gas or electric fireplace all this comes complete with granite hearth to match mantel size and with all our packages you do not need anything else. This month we have sold them all with Hotbox fire sets. This is the gallery hotbox fibre back which is more efficient than standard back and class 1 gas insert with a choice of  Trim and Fret in any colour from our range. The best seller was the polished Bauhaus which has a nice contemporary feel to it and compliments the shiny Black granite panel. With its simple clean plain lines and modern looks I should not be surprised it’s a good seller its just the 1st time our jura-stone suites have been toppled from there perch, so I will wait and see what the end of the month brings as too whether they can reclaim there number one fireplace slot again.

I can not believe we are already into May i promised myself at the end of the month we would feature the best selling fireplaces in the Limestone, Cast iron, Modern and Wooden range we sell as packages so here is the 1st post of many for his category even if it’s late.
April’s winner was by a long shot and is the Crown and Oak Lincoln Gas Package We sell this fireplace in 3 different finishes and 3 different sizes ranging from 48″ to 54″. The Crown Arched Insert is a simple plain arched fireplace with very little decorative detail making it very popular with customers wanting something not too fussy combined with our Oak Lincoln Mantel it makes a really great looking fireplace set. The Crown is available in Black, Half Polished (polished inner band) or for the true modern look Full Polished (Completely Silver) so this one cast fireplace has many looks. The Oak mantel is made from 100% solid american oak and is natural in colour having an oiled finish its very simple in design with no corbels or fancy mouldings so really compliments the Crown making a fireplace thats modern looking but retains a victorian theme, have a look and see what you think. We do sell both of these items on there own if you were just wanting to change your existing mantel or insert or dont want to buy a full package we also sell package for solid fuel too.

What a busy day i have spent today photographing over 60 new fireplaces for our website these photos contain a different range of wooden mantels with granite panels and small arched cast iron fireplaces to offer a range of wooden surrounds ranging in sizes from 42″ to 54″ that compliment the range we already offer.
We have pictured them with the new high ouput hotbox gas fire,electric insert and the glass fronted Aurora high efficiency gas fire all of which im sure are going to be big sellers,all these items will be added over the next week so keep your eyes on our Modern Fireplaces sections to view these new items. We have some modern fireplaces also available with granite panels for solid fuel use which combines the look of a modern fireplace but with the ever popular solid fuel option.
As soon i have the photos back i will post an article about the efficiency of these fires and heat outputs as im sure they will be of big interest to people requiring something different that isn’t available on everybodys website.
We have also photographed some new hearths and panel sets that take a standard gas or electric fire so the options are endless creating a perfect fireplace that will suit all tastes and budgets we have over 10 different surrounds to offer so even if you have your own fire you can update your fireplace at no great cost using your existing fire we will of couse be offering our usual Bargain Packages so our customers save a fortune buying a complete package with every thing you need. The Gas Safe Register came into effect on 1st April 2009. There is now no such thing as being “CORGI registered”. All Fireplace fitters and installers wishing to carry out gas work must be registered with “Gas Safe Register”.This follows a complete review by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) into how the existing CORGI provisions was working.
The result is that the ‘Gas Safety Register’ has now been set up and as from April 1st 2009 “CORGI” will no longer be relevant.
In the past, customers would have used Corgi registered fireplace fitters now please make sure your fitter has the relevant cards and is registered with the Gas Safety Registar to allow them to carry out your fireplace installation when using it for gas use. For solid Fuel HETAS is still in use with no change to there governing body.
Every engineer will carry a Gas Safe Register ID card with their own unique licence number, showing the type of gas work they are qualified to do. Before any gas work is carried out, always make sure you ask to see their Gas Safe Register ID card.
