Granite Panel and Longford Jura-Stone is Septembers Modern Fireplace

Friday, October 9th, 2009

This months modern fireplaces section has seen a large increase in the amount of Jura-Stone mantels we have sold with electric fires it is a section we have big plans for and to make it easier to navigate are introducing new categories and buying options.
Anyway that’s enough of our future plans the winner this month is the Granite Panel and Longford Package
This package has been sold in the Cotswold Jura-stone finish that is uniform in colour and is a very much like a white stone.
We sell this surround with a lot of our arched inserts too and they have gone really well this month with the Jubilee arched insert it must be because of the price as it looks like natural stone at a fraction of the price.
When you fit the Longford mantel with the granite panel it really makes them both stand out the contrast from the black granite and the white surround is really striking and to top it all off when fitted with an electric or gas insert with a silver trim and set of bars just finishes this great fireplace set and makes a really modern fireplace feature for any room.
Both electric and gas packages have been sold this month and we are even going to introduce a solid fuel version for this fantastic fireplace set so you will be able to order a modern fireplace for use with the old fashioned fuel how versatile is that
So if you want to take a look at Septembers best selling Modern Fireplace just click on the link or picture to take you straight through to that item.
Tomorrow is the last of our featured items with the fire baskets so keep a look at for that

Modern Fireplaces Winner Granite Panel and Longford Jura Stone Package

Saturday, August 8th, 2009

Modern Fireplaces are not huge sellers at Cast Fireplaces but we do offer a decent range with many choices in finishes and designs and our new Website categories will be pushing these items as much as our cast iron items so we hope to see a increase in sales of these items plus we have just spent a fortune promoting the phrase modern fireplaces through the Seo work we do on our website.
So with that out the way this month’s best selling modern fireplace was the Granite Panel and Longford Jura Stone package with an electric fire.
This package in my opinion fits very well together with the white effect from the Jura stone and the shiny black panel and hearth.
The electric fire fitted with this package looks best in silver with a silver trim and modern fret. They are remote controlled and we do display them in our showroom for customers to see the quality of these products.
The Longford surround is available in one size only at 54” but this package is suitable for mounting on a flat wall so you do not need to worry about any opening in a chimney breast etc, so I think it is one of the best modern fireplaces we sell and I am sure you will think so if you order one for your home.

Victorian Style Bedford Mantel is Modern Fireplaces Best Seller

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

Once again we get round to which of our Modern Fireplaces has sold best in the Month of June and this Month it is the Granite Panel and Pine Bedford Suite which has been ordered in both gas and electric use making it the run away winner in this section.
We are in the process of altering this category to make it easier to navigate the various sections so keep an eye out for that.
Let me tell you a little more about this month’s winner. This set is a little strange to call a modern fireplace as it has a very traditional Victorian
Styled Pine mantel which is called the Bedford. This surround is made from solid pine and features two nice scrolled corbels just underneath the shelf. Apart from that it’s reasonably plain and is suited to most inserts.
When we photographed these together I wasn’t sure whether it went well together but after giving it a try im now convinced and so are this months customers that it works.
The Matching panel and hearth set we supply is available in two sizes of 48” and 54” each with the Bedford surround to match.
The Electric and Hotbox Gas Fire inserts we supply with this package can be fitted with any of our Gallery Fret and trim sets available in various colours and styles to personalise the look of your new fireplace, this option creates numerous looking fires and we always confirm you trim and fret choice after your order has been placed to make sure you get the right item you want.
The photograph below shows the Pine Bedford with the electric insert complete with Bauhaus Silver Fret and Silver trim to match so if you wish to but just click on photo below.

Modern Fireplace Changes to this Category

Friday, June 26th, 2009

The Modern Fireplace seems to be our fastest growing section what originally started out as one section we know have plans to alter it and split the categories up into sections that are dedicated to each particular type here we will try and explain what they will become

Jura–Stone This section will feature all our Jurastone suites that are available for use with gas and electric fires, we currently do not offer solid fuel option except for when we use a Jura stone surround such as the Longford and feature it with a cast iron fireplace. This Stone is available in two finishes and both will be offered on our website with various fire options.

Micromarble This again is going to be a featured section with the options of purchasing full suites in Mocha Beige or Marfil, which are the two, finishes available in this type of fireplace. We will again be offering a full selection of fires to complete the packages.

Portuguese Limestone This natural products is available as an option for most of our Modern Fireplaces it’s a white limestone with darker and lighter veins which are a natural feature of this product. We offer full suites with panels and hearths in the same material to form a unique fire set to grace any room.

Granite The Black granite panel and hearth set has been added to our modern range as we feel it gives a very contemporary look and is perfectly suited to everyday living. These sets are available with numerous mantels and are offered with both gas solid fuel and electric.

These category changes will take effect over the next few weeks as we update and alter our website so until then they are all in the one category so it may take a little time navigating through them but they are all there for you to see and buy.

Hearths and Fireplace Fascia Sections explained

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

In this article we will cover two of our smaller sections they are both individual fireplace items and the first one is
Fascias this section is called Fascias because that’s what they basically are they are designed to sit in front of the chimney breast opening and then fitted with a Fireplace surround to form an opening either suitable for a standard gas or electric fireplace or to in the case of the Shire Newton to form an opening for a fire basket. They do not have any cast back etc so can’t be used on there own without a fire or basket.
Hearths This section is where we keep all our individual hearth available on there own or with a panel so you can choose from a choice of Granite, Slate, Limestone and tiled with options in Gas or solid fuel use.
We also offer a made to measure service on all our item so please contact us regarding a price These items are very delicate and we always use our own delivery service to deliver these items as we have proper methods of transportation that keeps them upright to minimize damage.
As always at Cast Fireplaces we offer a huge range of items that other websites don’t sell on there own and we understand people sometimes do wish to change one item and not the whole fireplace that’s why we offer individual fireplace items.

Which hearth to use with my fireplace

Monday, June 8th, 2009

What Hearths are best for gas or solid fuel is often asked here at Castfireplaces and really it is down to preference as we do granite and tiled hearths for solid fuel and gas use. We do not recommend slate or limestone as slate is too soft and scratches very easily and limestone is too porous for the cement under fill as it seeps through to the top surface staining it so we don’t use either for solid fuel use.
Here we will explain what options you have.
Granite Gas Use – A single slab of granite around 20mm thick sits on 30mm risers making the total height 50mm its 15” in depth and is fine for use with gas and electric fires.
Granite Solid Fuel use – Granite sections form these hearths so the fireplace can expand and contract with the heat from solid fuel use they are filled underneath with a light weight cement mix to dissipate the heat throughout the hearth if this process was not carried out it would simply Crack down the middle they do have to cut and slabbed they are 18″ in depth so a little deeper than gas use.
Tiled Hearth Gas and Solid fuel – The tiled hearths are manufactured from 6”x 6” tiles available in various colours they are then set on a bench and filled underneath with lightweight mix and then grouted. The only difference between them is that they are 15” for gas Fireplace use and 18” for solid fuel use.
Slate and Limestone – Exact same manufacture process as granite hearth for gas use an same dimensions being 15” deep only suitable for gas use as explained
We Offer a full made to measure service for all our hearths so if you need any help or advice choosing a hearth just contact us.

Modern Fireplaces Developer buys up Stock

Friday, June 5th, 2009

May has seen the return of property developers whom we have dealt with in the past starting to buy bigger amounts of fireplaces again this month so this has lead to an easy outright winner in the Modern Fireplace Department.
This months winner is the Granite Panel and Longford Jura Stone Package. We supplied 6 sets to this one developer for some new houses he was just finishing. These fireplace sets were required without electric fires as he buys them from one of his mates in the trade but “he cant get anywhere near our price” for the Surround and panel sets. This proves we are even cheaper than some trade suppliers.
He took all our stock of granite panels and made a big dent in the Longfords we keep in stock too (must make note to order more).
This particular fireplace set is a really good seller its perfect for a new home as it can fit on a flat wall so there is no need for a chimney breast and the electric fires we supply are remote controlled so there is no need even to get up out of your comfy chair if you wish to turn it on. They come with a choice of fret and trim so they can be personalised to suit any décor. They only come in a 54” size but as they are flat wall mounted it will fit any room and make a perfect fireplace feature have a look at the photo below and order one of these great selling sets. We also supply them for gas use too but you will need a proper chimney to take the gas fumes away.

Hearth options when choosing your fireplace

Friday, May 1st, 2009

When choosing your fireplace package from us at Cast Fireplaces we offer various Hearth options as part of our package prices. As standard we list the most popular Granite hearth for gas or solid fuel as standard as this is included in the base price of the package. We do offer the following hearth options for gas use

GRANITE our Standard hearth which is made from solid Granite which is in one section and is 15” deep and 50mm in height its boxed and lipped which means it has a 20mm overhang both sides and the front ideally suited for all gas fireplaces

TILED we offer the Ebony black tiled hearth as an alternative to the granite they are made from 6” x 6” black tiled hearths and are grouted with black grout in between each tile they are available from 30” to 60” in multiples of 6”. For our gas use hearths they are 15” in depth and 2.25” high

SLATE is our final option and they are of boxed and lipped construction same as the granite and are also 15” in depth they are made from Italian Slate which is quite a soft stone which is matt in colour, they do need to be cared for more than the other hearths and need oiling to maintain there looks

For Solid fuel use we don’t offer slate as its too soft and will become very tired looking with the mess from solid fuel and the scratches from cleaning away ash etc so we don’t offer it as an option for our solid fuel packages. We do offer the following

TILED made for the same tiles and done in the same way as our gas hearths the only difference being that for solid fuel they are 3 tiles deep making them 18” in depth as required by law

GRANITE these hearths are cut into sections and slabbed underneath so the hearth can expand and contract with the heat of solid fuel if this wasn’t done the hearth would crack in two when using with a real fire, there is no other way of avoiding the sectioning it just has to be done for solid fuel

If you need any advice regarding choosing the Hearth option for your fireplace please feel free to contact us for free honest advice. Below are some photos of the hearths we offer just click the photos to view.
