Now i have heard of Carrying Coals to Newcastle but today we have had a customer come and collect a Pembroke Full Polish Fireplace and granite hearth as when he rang yesterday we told him we had no delivery route planned to the North East until January and we could not deliver before then but he asked if we did have the items in stock if he wished to collect.
As most readers of our article section know we do keep large amounts of fireplaces and stoves in stock and Yes we do have the pembroke in stock both in Black and the required Full Polished Version.
So this morning the phone rang and he asked if it was ok to drive over and collect and he arrived at 2.15 pm today.
Card payment taken and fireplace loaded he was on his way saying he was fitting it tonight so his wife could decorate the christmas tree. It is a good job the fireplace he had is easy to fit and as he was using it for decorative purposes only i gave him a little fitting advice on the hearth etc.
So another very happy customer driving back home with one of our fireplaces i should really have bought him a bag of Coal to complete the little phrase of Coals to Newcastle but i suppose im more than happy to be sending fireplaces there instead.
So we are open until Sunday for collections so if you wish to collect just give me a ring

Time running out for Fireplace delivery as customer collects Pembroke from Newcastle
Wednesday, December 16th, 2009Local Fireplaces and Stoves Delivery at Night
Monday, November 30th, 2009Tonight i have been out on local delivery runs to Smalley, Riddings and a house just round the corner from me at Ripley. The first drop was at 5.30 pm to Riddings with a Lytton Black fireplace and pine corbel unwaxed surround which the lady came to visit us at our showrrom last week and could not believe it was only £325 for a highlighted fireplace solid fuel kit and surround, we have sold this package for years now and is one we first made as a budget surround at Derwentside and have made it ever since.
After dropping that off i was then off to Marehay to deliver Firefox 12 stove not half a mile from my house and near our local pub.
This man had found us using google searching for Firefox stoves for which we are listed on the 1st page he was very suprised to find out not only were we the cheapest online but also half a mile from him (and i delivered it free of charge as all of the fireplaces i have delivered tonight) so he ordered over the phone and i droped it off today.
Last visit of the early evening was to Smalley and was a Tiger stove and a Pembroke Full Polish Fireplace, this particular customer was one of those who had visited our showroom on Saturday and viewed items before placing his order.
We do try to offer a better service than any of the other shops and often do Early morning or evening deliverys as we do understand that not all people can escape from work to take delivery of these type of items.
So if your looking for a fireplace or stove and want to take advantage of our early or late delivery service just contact us
Fireplace Shop Myths What they tell you is not true
Monday, November 23rd, 2009Now Today I have had a call from a Woman in Surrey who rang us after visiting our website over the weekend and then going to a fireplace shop local to her on Sunday here’s a few things the shop told her after asking why there prices were more than double ours.
Now these salesman must be so desperate for a sale they have lied and deceived the customer beyond belief, now it makes me mad people saying Online Retailers have no customer service or back up we pride ourselves on customer service and you only have to read my article the other day about fireplace showroom who do not return calls.
I do understand they have a bone to pick with us saying we can sell them cheaper than them as they have larger overheads well that is not true we have 1700 sq Foot factory to pay for, 2 Modern vans and we spend £1000s of pounds every month on seo and google ads let alone the rates, heating and lighting for our factory and office.
Now wait for it here’s the best bit the products you buy from them are made from inferior cast iron and HETAS registered fitters and GAS SAFE fitters will refuse to install it due to this.
What utter Bo****** I have never heard such rubbish in my life.
The Gallery Fireplaces we sell are the same ones sat in there showroom just like they sit in our showroom we do not sell seconds, rejects or any other made up excuse they come out with.
Now I know which shop you are and I have even been passed it when out delivering and if you think it is ok lying and deceiving customers to clinch a sale then you go ahead I can honestly say the day we lie to our customers regarding any of our products is the day I will pack it all in.
Yes there are dodgy firms out there who have terrible customer service and sell rubbish but then there are High Street Shops that do the same ask yourself this when ordering online
1 Can I contact them by phone and do they have Address and Company details shown
2 Are they VAT registered and will I get an invoice
3 Do they have a showroom I can visit?
4 Am I going to get Honest Correct Free Advice without Sales Pressure?
5 Can I contact any of their Customers or read genuine testimonials
If you can not assure yourself of getting all 5 of these things move on to another website or shop its just not worth the risk
So if you do want a fireplace or stove that can be used for gas or solid fuel use shop with us here at Castfireplaces we have over 5500 genuine customers who have bought from us in the Last 6 years that’s why we are in my opinion the best fireplace retailer online.
And Just for the record we do now have a sale for a Pembroke Black Fireplace with Granite Hearth for Solid fuel use going to Surrey on Sunday 29th so not only have you lost your sale you have deceived someone who will tell all her friends and Family what a con merchant you are
Late Night viewing and Collection of our Fireplaces and Stoves
Monday, October 26th, 2009As a lot of our website visitors know we do late night viewings at our showroom in Langley Mill and tonight we have had a customer come and view a Firefox 5 Stove and then take this item home with him in his car. Earlier today a customer drove from Northampton to view and went home with a Firefox 8 Stove
I have also done an out of hours delivery in Derby of another Firefox 5 so I am now sat in my office writing this article before I switch pc off.
It has been local delivery day today and I have been to Heanor to drop off Pembroke Full Polish package and then back to the workshop for a building contract company from Slough who came to collect a Coronet and Brompton package so I have had a busy little day running round delivering and arranging collections.
I have done some price alterations later this afternoon on our website update so another few days doing that and it will be ready to go live I could do with starting to work nights too to get it all done.
We normally try and finish for 8 pm but its now 9.30pm and I still have a couple more invoices to do before I switch off and open up a tin of Jupiter beer that Nina brought me when I got to work this morning I had this comment from her
Hi Mark,
We had a great trip to the UK, it was an easy to find meeting point and it was indeed lovely to see you as well.
We arrived late at home (11 pm Belgian time).
Thanks Mark, see you later.
Regards, Nina
I thought I worked late sometimes but it’s all in a days work here at castfireplaces
Right I am off to get a beer now then walk the dog.
Customers Collect Stoves and we collect Fireplace Customer
Friday, October 23rd, 2009Another very busy day here at Cast fireplaces has seen two customers collecting Firefox 5 Stoves again one from Breaston in Nottingham which is fairly local but the other customer Mr Lawson was from Street in Somerset who called in on his way back from Congleton to collect.
Both customers were amazed at the amount of stock we keep and were very happy to take the stoves away after viewing them in our showroom.
Another customer this morning we collected from Heanor to bring him to our showroom as he does not have a car and was going to walk.
I said give me 5 minutes and I will come and pick you up to save your legs and he gave me some directions where to collect him from.
On the way back in the van we were chatting about the internet and how strange it was he found us searching on google for fireplaces and was surprised to find a shop 2 miles from his house offering the Pembroke Full Polish Fireplace Package at a price that he confirmed was the cheapest online and was amazed we were so close.
Fifteen minutes later he was on his way back home after declining a lift back he had ordered his new fireplace and its being delivered on Monday for him how is that for service.
So all in all another set of happy customers and Rhian has been hard at work in the office too, I am off again tomorrow watching football and then delivering in London on Sunday so if you do ring the office this weekend the lovely Rhian will look after you. Off for a beer now I deserve it.
Four Black Pembroke Fireplaces please and can you Grate Polish Them All
Monday, September 7th, 2009I have been emailed by our website company the outlay for the Website update and I must say it looks fantastic I cant wait for it to be tested and to go live.
Today has been a strange day we have sold four Black Pembroke Fireplaces to 3 different customers all who wanted them black leading and all of them were for solid fuel use. We offer this service free of charge as an option on all of our black fireplaces. We use black lead grate polish or Stovax graphite polish as it is now called. It’s a simple job but can be messy if you have not used it before I actually don’t mind doing it I always think the fireplace looks great when there finished and makes them look far more traditional than the plain matt black finish.
I am not aware of any other company who offers this service let alone free of charge but it is unusual to have 4 ordered in 1 day all to be black leaded, we normally only do one or two a week so I know what I am doing Wednesday morning after our gallery delivery has arrived im blacking up fireplaces.
This is just another small reason that makes us give a better service than any online or high street shop they just don’t offer what we do at don’t just take my word at it have a look and ask other companies what they offer and then come back to us we are really the best so why shop elsewhere for your gallery Fireplaces
Pembroke Combination Fireplace is Augusts best selling Cast Iron
Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009We have a draw this month for our Cast Iron Fireplace of the month and its no surprise really that again it’s The Pembroke Fireplace which has won again with the same number of polished and black versions being sold.
This popular selling cast iron combination fireplace is available in two finishes explained below
Full Polish – A completely polished silver fireplace that looks stunning this combination has a smooth polished feel to it and adds a modern feeling to a traditional style fireplace.
Black – Matt Black version looks great for the more traditional setting and is of better use when using for solid fuel, the fireplace can be finished with black lead grate polish to get a more antique look.
The Pembroke has a shelf width of 48” and is ideal for living rooms with smaller chimney breasts and dining rooms where space is at a premium we have also had customers fit these in bedrooms too so they are very versatile.
As usual we have them available for use as gas, solid fuel or electric packages where they come complete with hearth and everything you need ready to fit.
We also sell the fireplace on it s own in our Combination Fireplaces section where you can just buy the cast iron without the hearth etc if you already have one.
With prices starting at £280 you can see why the Pembroke is normally our best selling cast iron Fireplace so click on the link and buy yourself a genuine gallery fireplace
For Customer with smaller chimney breasts have a look at the smaller Celtic Fireplace which is part of the Pembroke Family.
Gas Fireplaces swap your energy supplier for better deal
Saturday, August 15th, 2009Having come to the end of our contract with our gas and electricity suppliers we decides to search online for a more competitive quote.
We have a Pembroke Full polish fireplace at home with a gas living flame insert which we do have on in winter or when we just want to use it as a display feature so along with the other gas items we have this fireplace is not the most efficient item so we do always try to get a good deal from the energy companies.
The gas insert with this fireplace is an input of 6.5KW with an output of 2.1KW so most of the heat goes up the chimney. They are primarily designed as a living flame decorative fire but you do get some heat off it.
Anyway the main reason for this blog is its an ideal time to change energy companies we found a good option from our same energy company but on online tariff which will save us £191 over the year so the moral of the story is as well as shopping round to get a good deal on the internet for your fireplace don’t forget your energy bill too there is a saving to be had too even from your existing supplier.
Those of you lucky people who burn wood as a fuel source I am not sure how to help you except speak to your local tree surgeon or local wood yard.
So don’t forget buy your Fireplaces from us we guarantee to be the best and have a look at uswitch.com for altering your energy supplier or just browse a better deal
