Class 1 Brick Built Chimney
Common in houses built before 1960 they are easily identifiable by a chimney pot on the chimney stack for class 1 use they have to be a minimum of 7†in diameter and must be structurally sound these chimneys are suitable for any type of fireplaces that we sell and can be used with all types of gas fires we have available
Class 2 Chimney
These are found in houses built after 1960 that don’t have class 1 fireplaces or houses that are older but there chimneys have been lined with a 5†steel flue or a flexible 5†liner this type of chimney is easily identifiable by a silver cowl either on the chimney pot or replacing the chimney pot these chimneys are suitable for nearly all the gas fireplaces we sell

The heat output of this type of fireplace is around 2.1kw and is only to be used as secondary heat source they are designed more for decorative effect than a main heat source.
Another form of gas fireplaces is our ever popular Gas Firefox 5 stove they have been designed on the popular solid fuel version. Having a heat output of up to 4kw and being 73% efficient they really offer the looks of a traditional Wood Burning stove without out all the mess and hassle of a real fire. Imagine coming home on cold winters evening and just switching on the stove and instantly getting heat without the need to remove ashes and lay the fire they really are that simple and when you have done just a quick turn of the knob and the flame is out no more waiting for the fireplace to die down when you want to retire to bed.
