Ok here we will sort out the age old question of which size stove should i buy to heat my house.
I'm of the opinion you can never have enough heat to any room as all our Gallery Stoves have controllable outputs and depending on what type of fuel you are burning depends on heat output ie Anthracite Coal will burn a lot hotter the Cured Softwood Timber there may be times when you just need a little more heat on the Coldest of Winters night.
The Basic Formula is 1Kw of Heat will heat up
10 Cubic Metres of poor insulated room size
15 Cubic Metres of average insulated room size
23 Cubic Meters of well insulated room size
TEST CASE
Room size 8m long 4m wide and 2.5m high =
8 x 4 x 2.5 =80 Cubic Metres
The room is of medium insulation ie double glazed and 1 large window so that is
80 Cubic Metres divided by 15 (average insulated Room) = 5.33 Kw Output Required so you would be looking at Tiger Plus Multi Fuel Stove or a larger stove such as the Firefox 8 Multi Fuel Stove
Using this basic formula you can calculate what size stove you need as a minimum requirement to heat the space you have
If you have a pitched roof just meaure to the middle of the pitch to get the ceiling height
If this doesnt make sense just ring us and we will work out the output needed for you
This formula takes most of the guesswork out of choosing a stove for your house
