Our natural slate hearths provide a simple and attractive base for gas, electric, bioethanol and decorative fireplaces. Choose from smooth honed slate or a more textured riven finish, with standard and made-to-measure sizes available.

Honed slate has a smooth, refined surface, while riven slate retains more of the stone’s natural texture. Our standard hearths are 15 inches deep and available in widths of 36, 42, 48, 51, 54 and 60 inches. A made-to-measure service is also available when a standard size does not suit your fireplace. Measure the full width and depth required and compare these with the dimensions shown on the product page before ordering.
Made-to-measure hearths typically take around two weeks, although lead times may increase during busier periods. Please contact us with your measurements and preferred finish for a quotation.
Our standard slate hearths are intended for gas, electric, bioethanol or decorative use. For a wood-burning or multi-fuel fire, choose a hearth specifically made for solid-fuel use.

Yes. Natural slate can vary slightly in colour, markings and surface texture. These variations are part of the character of the material rather than faults.
