Choosing the Right Dunsley Stove

The Avance collection offers a cleaner, more contemporary appearance. Both models have broad glass windows, simple air controls and a nominal heat output of 5kW, but their proportions are noticeably different.
The Avance 400 has a narrower body that can suit smaller fireplace openings, while the Avance 500 is considerably wider and provides a broader view of the fire. Both are supplied as wood-burning stoves, with an optional multi-fuel kit available for burning suitable smokeless fuels. Log-store bases and alternative finishes are also available for the Avance range. The Avance 500 has additional leg options for customers who want to alter the height and overall appearance of the stove.
The Highlander range has a more traditional design. The Highlander 3 is the smallest model and is suited to rooms requiring a lower output. The Highlander 5 provides familiar mid-sized stove proportions, while the wider Highlander 8 offers a larger firebox and increased heat output. Highlander stoves are multi-fuel models with square viewing windows and are available with different leg, handle and finish options depending on the model.
Always check the individual specification because the dimensions, heat output, fuel options and available accessories vary across the Dunsley range.

View Dunsley Stoves in Our Showroom

We have two Dunsley Avance stoves on display in our Heanor showroom:

  • Avance 400 with the optional multi-fuel kit fitted
  • Avance 500

Seeing the models together makes it easier to assess their widths, viewing windows and overall proportions. Although both have a nominal heat output of 5kW, the narrower Avance 400 and wider Avance 500 create noticeably different appearances within a fireplace opening.
The kit fitted to our Avance 400 also shows how the internal firebox differs from the standard wood-burning arrangement, helping customers decide whether wood-burning or multi-fuel operation is more suitable. Our team can help with finishes, log-store bases and fireplace-opening requirements before you choose a Dunsley stove.
