Aegean limestone is a natural stone from Turkey with an off-white colour and a slight gold fleck. Fossils, markings, small chips, colour variation and natural surface flaws may be visible. These are not defects and are part of the character of the stone. Its soft, warm finish works well in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
Our limestone fire surrounds are available in a wide range of simple and decorative designs, including plain mantels, columned surrounds, bullseye details and carved corbels. Sizes range from 42 to 56 inches, with selected designs available in larger sizes. The Brompton limestone surround is one of our most popular options and can be paired with a wide range of cast iron fireplaces and stove openings.
Portuguese limestone fireplaces with a back panel and hearth are also available as fireplace suites suitable for a more modern fireplace look with an inset gas fire or electric fire.
A limestone mantel can be used around a cast iron insert, tiled insert, fireplace chamber or stove opening. It may be paired with wood-burning, gas, electric or bioethanol appliances, depending on the fireplace and installation. Always check the appliance requirements and fitting details before ordering.
Natural limestone will need sanding and sealing after fitting. We recommend using a suitable stone adhesive during assembly.

Most limestone surrounds have a standard 75 mm rebate for use with inserts and fireplace chambers. For flat-wall installations, closure pieces or an attached no-rebate option may be available. Check the individual product page or contact us if you are unsure which option you need.
