Granite is a popular hearth material because it is durable, easy to maintain and available in a range of finishes. Dark granite can show dust, fingerprints and smears, so regular cleaning helps keep it looking its best. Using suitable products and non-abrasive cloths will protect the surface. Browse our range of granite hearths in a choice of sizes and configurations.

Make sure the fire and granite hearth are completely cold before you begin.
Start by removing loose ash and dust with a soft brush or dry cloth. Lift debris away carefully rather than dragging it across the granite. Apply LTP Stonewash cleaner according to the instructions on the bottle. Wipe the surface gently using a clean microfibre cloth. Finish by drying the granite with a separate cloth. Polished granite can also be lightly buffed to remove smears and restore its shine.
Wipe up spills before they dry onto the granite. Marks that remain after normal cleaning may require a specialist product suitable for natural stone. Test any new cleaner on a small, discreet section first and follow the manufacturer’s directions carefully. Avoid vigorous scrubbing, as this could leave fine scratches or affect the finish.
