When buying a new fireplace, one of the questions customers sometimes ask us is what’s actually included in the price. Does a complete fireplace package come with the hearth and fire? Are there other parts you need to buy? And does the price include fitting?
At Cast Fireplaces, our fireplace packages include the main components needed for your chosen fireplace. Buying everything together as a package is easier and usually works out cheaper than purchasing the individual parts separately.
Let’s use one of our most popular fireplaces, the Crown and Brompton Limestone Fireplace, as an example.
This package includes:
You can also add an optional limestone sealer to help protect the natural stone from staining.
There’s no need to purchase the insert, surround or hearth separately. They’re all included in the package you’ve put together using the options on the product page.

Not really. The main difference between our limestone, marble and wooden fireplace packages is the material used for the surround. Many of the same cast iron inserts, fuel options and hearth choices are available across these ranges. For example, you might prefer a traditional black cast iron insert with a limestone surround, while another customer wants the same insert with a wooden surround. The basic idea of the package remains the same, although the available options can vary between individual fireplaces.

No, and this is something worth making clear. When we describe a fireplace as a complete package, we mean the fireplace components themselves. Installation isn’t included in the price. You’ll need to arrange a suitable fitter, and the cost will depend on the fireplace you’ve chosen and the work involved.
For example, a limestone surround needs assembling and securing to the wall. Materials such as limestone adhesive and fixing screws are normally supplied by the installer as part of the fitting work. It’s worth confirming what’s included in your installer’s quote before the work begins.
Although our fireplace packages include the main components, every property is different. An older chimney breast might need some work before a new fireplace can be installed, or the existing opening may need adjusting. Depending on the fuel option you’ve chosen, additional chimney or flue work might also be required. If you’re planning to use an existing chimney, we’d always recommend having it swept first and asking your fitter to check that it’s suitable.
It’s also important to check the width of your chimney breast and fireplace opening before ordering. Your fitter can confirm whether the fireplace you’ve chosen will fit the available space. These are additional installation considerations rather than missing parts from the fireplace package.
Yes. Although we sell a large range of complete fireplace packages, we can also supply any of the components individually. You might already have a fireplace you’re happy with but want to replace the surround, or perhaps you only need a new cast iron insert or hearth.
You’re not restricted to the combinations shown on our website either. If you like a particular surround but would prefer a different insert or hearth, we’re happy to put together a package to suit what you’re looking for.
Our advice is to choose the fireplace package you like, check the available sizes and fuel options, and speak to your fitter before placing your order. You shouldn’t need to purchase lots of additional fireplace components when buying one of our complete packages, but you should allow separately for installation and any work your property might need.
If you’re unsure what’s included or would like to put together a different combination, just get in touch. We’re always happy to explain the options and help you choose a fireplace that works for your home.
