Why We Created Our Stove Suites

Article Summary
We’ve put together combinations of stoves, chambers, hearths, beams and surrounds that we think work well together, so you don’t have to start from scratch.
If you like the overall look but prefer a different stove, hearth, chamber, beam or surround, the package can usually be adjusted to suit your home.
We look at the proportions, materials and overall balance of each combination, and our room visualisation service can also show you how a stove suite could look in your own room.

We first introduced stove suites at Cast Fireplaces a number of years ago. The idea was simple. We wanted to give customers combinations they might not have thought about themselves. When you have a huge choice of stoves, chambers, hearths, beams and surrounds, sometimes the difficult part isn’t finding products you like. It’s knowing where to start.

For the 2026 heating season, we’ve refreshed our stove suites with more stove choices and a much larger selection. We’ve spent much of the summer working on them, and there has been a lot going on behind the scenes that you won’t see on the website.

We’ve Created More Than 100 Combinations

We didn’t just put a handful of combinations together and upload them. We’ve created more than 100. And we’ve binned loads of them. Some looked fine when we first put the products together, but once we looked properly at the proportions, they just didn’t work.

That’s an important part of the process.
A stove suite isn’t simply a collection of products that happen to be available. The stove, chamber, hearth and surround or beam all need to look right together. Sometimes the opposite happens too. We’ve put combinations together that we weren’t convinced about at first, created the finished visual and thought:
“Wow. That actually works.”
That’s one of the reasons we like seeing the whole fireplace together rather than judging every component individually.

Seeing the Fireplace in Your Own Room

This is also why we’ve invested in our room visualisation service. If you’re struggling to picture what a new fireplace will look like in your home, Melissa can create a visual showing the proposed fireplace in your own room. You can see how wide the fireplace looks against the chimney breast, how the materials work with the room and whether the overall style feels right before you make a decision.

We’ve found it particularly useful when a customer likes two or three different options and can’t decide between them. A product photograph can only show you so much. Seeing the fireplace in your own room gives you a much better idea of what the finished result could look like.

You Aren’t Tied to the Package

One thing we’ve been told over the years is that we have a lot of choice when it comes to stoves. That’s good, but it can also make choosing harder. The stove suites give you a starting point by showing combinations that we think work well together.

But you’re not tied to them. If you like the fireplace but prefer another stove, we can look at changing it. The same applies to the hearth, chamber, beam or surround. The packages are there to give you ideas, not restrict your choice.

We Work With These Products Every Day

We put the combinations together ourselves. We’re working with fireplaces and stoves every day, and we also speak regularly to the installers fitting them in customers’ homes. That practical experience makes a difference.

You quickly learn that something can look great as a product combination but still need thought when it comes to fitting it into a real property.

Opening sizes vary. Chimney breasts vary. Existing fireplace openings are rarely identical. That’s why we look at more than just whether the colours work together. We also think about the proportions of the stove inside the chamber, the size of the hearth and whether the finished fireplace looks balanced.

Every House Is Different

There isn’t one fireplace size or setup that works for every home. The existing opening may need altering, and chambers and hearths can often be cut on site by the installer where required. That gives some flexibility when the fireplace is actually being fitted.
The stove suite gives you the overall design and the components that work together, but the installation still needs to suit the individual property.

Being Clear About What’s Included

We’ve also tried to make the packages as straightforward as possible. Depending on the suite, this can include the stove, hearth, chamber, surround or beam, along with items such as the VIT flue pipe, register plate and carbon monoxide alarm. There is also the option of a chimney lining kit where the installation requires one.

If you want to understand the individual parts first, our guide to How to Choose a Stove Package explains the stove, hearth, chamber, beam and surround in more detail.
There will always be parts of an installation that depend on the individual house, but we want customers to understand what they’re getting before the fitter arrives.

So Why Do We Create Stove Suites?

It really comes back to the reason we introduced them in the first place.

To give people ideas.

We have access to a huge range of stoves and fireplace products, which means there are an enormous number of possible combinations. That choice is useful, but it can also make deciding harder. So we’ve done a lot of the experimenting ourselves. We’ve tried combinations, rejected plenty of them and kept the ones we think genuinely work.

You can then use one of those designs as it is or change it to suit your own home. That’s the point of our stove suites. They’re not there to limit your choice. They’re there to give you a better place to start.

And if you still can’t picture what a particular combination would look like in your room, send us a photo and some basic measurements and we can show you.
