Wooden Fire Surrounds

Handmade and hand-finished wooden fire surrounds manufactured using only solid timber. We use only the finest waxes and oils to create our bespoke traditional patina. It is something of a trade secret here at Castfireplaces. We also supply unfinished, ready for painting wooden mantels for the hobbyists!

We also offer bespoke made wooden mantels so we can manufacture the size you require.

I love this company. We just needed an oak surround, but I almost feel like fitting another fireplace just to use them again. Mark went out of his way to enable us to call in when passing through, so we could see e surrounds in the flesh. We could then easily order on line, including customising. They waited for us to get back from holiday before dispatching, communication was great, and delivery was spot-on. And we have saved a pile of cash.

Our most popular designs are available to purchase in standard sizes on our website. We also offer a full made-to-measure service for the perfect size mantel. Ordering a bespoke handmade fire surround has never been easier, just email us the dimensions and leave the rest to us.

Numerous uses for a wooden surround

At home with a fireplace insert or modern inset electric fire using a wooden mantel is very cost-effective and forms a great feature for a few hundred pounds. From simple designs like our Lincoln to the Worcester, our most popular surround in a classic flat Victorian style, we are sure you will be impressed with the range and quality of what we have to offer.

Frequently Asked Questions

We have concealed fixing brackets you can order with the surround. They offer a simple hidden solution for attaching to the wall.

Designed primarily to be used with fireplace cast inserts or slip sets, the mantels have an adjustable rebate of 1” or 3”If you remove the inner strip.

For customers requiring no rebate, add a note to the order form, and we can get one done for you at no extra cost.

During busy winter months, we do try to work to a 2-week manufacturing time so allow 3 weeks including delivery if ordering made-to-measure items.
